Ch 17
Chapter 17
—
Anonymous: I doubted its effectiveness since it wasn’t from the Alchemist Guild, but after buying and using it myself, I understood. The person who sold this might really be a god.
Anonymous: “Odin” and “Asgard” seem obsessed with their theme, but considering the effect, they might not just be pretending.
Anonymous: Odin is a god! A god who gives the elixir of life to foolish humans for free!
Hank-yul carefully read through the reviews.
All of them praised the potions he had posted for sale and even worshipped the name “Odin” as if it were divine.
“These people are amusing.”
Hank-yul chuckled as he looked through the reviews.
All he had done was collect and sell the endlessly flowing water.
Yet, people were calling it an elixir and treating him like a god.
“As long as it helps them, that’s enough.”
Han-yul continued scrolling through the market reviews before turning away.
He held a potion in his hand—one he had not yet sold.
“By the way, why isn’t Noona(Arin) answering my calls?”
Hank-yul wanted to help the person who had once helped him.
And that help was the life-giving water.
“This should be enough to erase her burn scars. It’s a shame.”
He wanted to give Asgard’s sacred water to Baek Arin, but she was avoiding his contact.
Hank-yul was confused about why she was avoiding him.
“I don’t think I said anything wrong back then.”
Hank-yul recalled their last conversation, tilting his head.
No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t remember saying anything offensive.
She had helped him because she was a social worker.
Now that he was no longer disabled, she had no obligation to help him.
She was a kind person—an angel who helped those in need, just like he once was.
He had only told her that she didn’t have to keep helping him.
“I don’t get it.”
Hank-yul sighed lightly and walked forward.
As he was leaving the market—
Thud!
Someone suddenly ran into him, knocking him backward.
“Oof!”
A sharp pain shot through his backside, making Hank-yul groan.
From the other side, the man who had bumped into him also groaned in pain.
“What the hell, damn it!”
The man, clearly annoyed, glared at Hank-yul.
As soon as he saw Hank yul’s face, he let out a small gasp.
“Oh…”
But his admiration quickly turned into irritation again.
“Who the hell are you?”
“Huh?”mmmmm
“Why are you blocking my way?”
“What’s with this crazy guy?”
Hank-yul had been walking slowly, staying at the edge of the street to avoid getting in anyone’s way.
The man had run straight into him.
“You got a problem? What are you staring at?”
“You were the one who ran into me.”
“What?”
“If there’s someone to blame, it’s not me—it’s you.”
The man scoffed, looking around before pointing at the badge on his chest.
“You don’t know who I am?”
“Nope. What’s that badge supposed to mean?”
“Where the hell are you from?!”
The man stared at Hank-yul in shock.
“You don’t know the Alchemist Guild? You don’t know Kim Jin-So?”
“The Alchemist Guild?”
“This idiot… You better not mess with me. If I cut off your potion supply, you won’t even be able to enter a Gate!”
Kim Jin-So grabbed Hank yul’s shoulder forcefully.
Hank-yul silently stared at him.
“Is the Alchemist Guild really that powerful?”
Then he remembered something.
“Oh, that message.”
Hank-yul grabbed Kim Jin-So’s wrist.
“Oh? You dare grab me? Let go, you bastard!”
“I don’t know much about the Alchemist Guild, but your actions are very rude. Is this how all guild members behave?”
“You crazy bastard, do you even know what you’re saying? Do you want your Hunter career to end?”
“You keep talking about ending my Hunter career. How exactly do you plan to do that?”
Hank-yul tightened his grip on Kim Jin-So’s wrist and glared at him.
“What’s with this guy’s eyes…?”
His gaze was cold and sharp—like someone who could kill without hesitation.
“If I cut off your potion supply—”
“Go ahead.”
Hank-yul pushed Kim Jin-So’s wrist aside, making him stumble.
Furious, Kim Jin-So got back up, but Hank-yul had already walked away.
“You bastard! I saw your face clearly! You hear me?! I won’t forget this!”
Even as Kim Jin-So shouted behind him, Hank-yul didn’t respond.
The man’s angry voice was annoying, but it didn’t matter.
Before leaving the market, Hank-yul purchased a potion from the Alchemist Guild.
It was an expensive mid-grade potion, but since he made millions from selling his own potions, the cost wasn’t a problem.
Mid-Grade Potion
Price: 3,250,000 won (~$3,250)
Effect: Heals moderate injuries.
Seller: Alchemist Guild.
Hank-yul looked at the potion and sighed.
“It’s nothing special, yet they sell it for over three million won?”
He had been interested in the Alchemist Guild because they claimed to create elixirs, but after seeing their product, he lost interest.
“They’re just an overpriced monopoly.”
They acted as if they could take away Hunters’ livelihoods, yet their potions weren’t even that impressive.
“Maybe I should increase the supply of my life-giving water.”
—
Meanwhile, in a meeting, Yoo Jin Chul clenched his fist, recalling what Kim Jin-So had said earlier.
“Make sure to bring me the personal details of the person selling that potion. The Guild stopping potion supply would be a bigger problem for the administration than handing over a single person’s information.”
Kim Jin-So and the Alchemist Guild were essential for Hunters.
Without their potions, Hunters couldn’t safely enter Gates and fight monsters.
But they had become too greedy.
At first, they sold potions at reasonable prices, but after getting a taste of money, they became extremely expensive.
And yet, the ingredients for their potions were supplied by Hunters.
Despite that, they looked down on Hunters—even the Hunter Administration Bureau.
That’s why they dared to disrespect even him, a Bureau team leader.
“What did you talk about with that annoying guy?”
“He wanted the seller’s personal information.”
Yoo Jin Chul sighed.
Kim Min-Ho, his colleague, laughed bitterly.
“That Guild has been a paradise for the rich ever since their leader stepped down.”
Yu Jin-Cheol nodded.
“But what if there was another seller? Someone stronger and cheaper?”
Kim Min-Ho hesitated.
“You mean Odin? His potions are amazing, but you know they’re unrealistic.”
Yu Jin-Cheol agreed.
Creating a potion stronger than an elixir couldn’t be easy.
“But why did the Grandmaster want to buy them for ten times the price?”
Kim Min-Ho paused.
“Wait a minute. The person who made that potion was named Hank-yul Lee.”
The room fell silent.
Han-yull Lee—the Hunter who wielded lightning and fought like a god.
Hank-yul Lee—the mysterious alchemist who made legendary potions.
Both had the same name.
“Is it possible? That the Alchemist Guild’s best member is also a Hunter strong enough to take down an army alone?”
Kim Min-Ho chuckled.
“No way.”
The idea was absurd.
But still—”It’s worth investigating.”
—
Even the Grandmaster, holding the potion bottle, was curious.
“I want to know more about him too.”
