Chapter 87: Chapter 87: Ghosts of the Past
---
1. The Name That Shouldn't Exist
Jinwoo's fingers tightened around the bloodstained file.
The name inside was one he never expected to see again.
Kang Dae-jung.
A name that once ruled the streets.
A name that should have died three years ago.
Minji leaned against the wall, arms crossed, her expression unreadable.
"I don't believe in ghosts," she said.
Hyun-seok scoffed.
"Then explain why a dead man just tried to burn one of our clubs to the ground."
Jinwoo remained silent.
His mind raced, piecing together fragmented memories.
Three years ago, Dae-jung had been erased—executed in a brutal gang purge.
Jinwoo had been there.
He had seen the body.
So how the hell was Dae-jung back?
And worse—why was he coming for them?

2. An Old Debt Unpaid
Jinwoo, Hyun-seok, and Minji sat in the private lounge of an upscale bar, the city lights flickering outside.
The air was heavy with unspoken tension.
"We need to know what we're dealing with," Minji said, tapping her nails on the table. "If this is really Dae-jung—"
"Then we're already at war," Jinwoo finished.
Hyun-seok sighed, rubbing his temples.
"I don't get it," he muttered. "We killed him. I saw his body."
Minji gave him a sharp look.
"Did you?"
Hyun-seok hesitated.
"…No. But I saw the aftermath."
Jinwoo exhaled slowly.
"If Dae-jung survived, it means someone let him live."
The realization made the room go silent.
Because if someone had spared Dae-jung—it meant this had been planned for years.
And now, that plan was unfolding.

3. The Warning
The first body appeared the next morning.
One of their men, strung up on a bridge over the Han River.
His throat was slit.
His hands were tied behind his back.
And carved into his chest—a message.
"REMEMBER ME?"
Jinwoo stood beneath the bridge, rain soaking his clothes, staring at the words.
Minji arrived moments later, her face unreadable.
"We need to hit back," she said.
Jinwoo didn't respond.
Hyun-seok walked up, shaking his head.
"This isn't just a warning," he muttered. "This is a goddamn declaration."
Jinwoo exhaled, his breath turning to mist in the cold air.
Dae-jung wasn't just alive.
He was hunting them.
And if they didn't move first—
They would be the next ones hanging.
