The Strongest Brain in the Interstellar

Chapter 305 - Curiosity

Huan Xian was still in his school uniform, but the background behind him was unidentifiable. It looked decorated, but in a very rigid and empty way.

Well, from this, you could roughly tell the different living habits of each person.

It was Clarens who initiated the conversation. He probably wanted to ask everyone if they had received the physical invitations. Only the A-level exhibition tickets would come with a physical invitation. It was said that with this physical invitation, you could exchange it for a meal voucher to the natural restaurant inside the battle arena.

Despite being a restaurant within the battle arena and having such a simple name like “Natural Restaurant,” in fact, places in the galaxy that could carry the word “natural” in their names were far from ordinary. They were even more prestigious than things like tire manufacturers on Blue Star. To use the term “natural,” you had to apply to the Natural Association. After all, in a world full of technology, anything that could be called “natural” was expensive.

Even someone like Clarens, who clearly came from a good family, highly recommended trying it, showing just how rare and special it was. That’s why he had taken the time to make a call to remind everyone to remember to bring the physical invitation along when they went.

Since everyone was currently discussing an entertainment-related activity, they weren’t as formal as they would be in school, and everyone seemed quite relaxed. Even Xierman started chatting casually with the group, and when it came to being familiar with people, Jiang Hui would admit that Xierman was the best at it. Despite his young age, his business-like manner was spot on.

However, most of the conversation was between Xierman and Zhou Xiuwen, while Huan Xian and Clarens were mostly just listening. As for Jiang Hui, she gradually started zoning out, but it was Xierman who eventually asked her a question.

Since they had reached this point, Jiang Hui figured there was no need to hesitate anymore. It was better to ask these people; they might know more. So, she asked about the recycling businesses.

“Are you looking to buy something from the recycling place? I can have my family keep an eye out for you,” Xierman offered, as was his usual style.

Jiang Hui knew that his family was involved in business, and she had asked him to help secure limited edition models in the past, so she trusted that what he said was sincere.

However, she shook her head at his offer, saying, “I can’t say exactly what I’m looking for… I just want to take a look.” She actually knew what she wanted to buy, but telling him she was looking for some mech parts felt too abstract.

If she had Xierman help her find things, what if he misunderstood and bought something too expensive? Would she accept it or not?

Besides, she couldn’t keep asking him for help like this in the future. If she could figure out the details of the recycling business on her own, it would be more convenient for her to make the purchases herself when needed. Jiang Hui had a feeling that she would face situations like this more often in the future, so she needed to learn how to source materials herself.

Xierman wasn’t the type to press for details. He simply said he would ask his family to keep an eye out for any reliable second-hand suppliers and let her know later.

Jiang Hui didn’t refuse, because it was clear that local people would know more about these recycling places. Having an insider gather information would be very helpful and save her some trouble in the future.

As for the favor she owed Xierman, she thought she could repay him by taking care of him more in the future. There wasn’t much she could do at the moment.

“Do you have any places in mind that you want to visit now?” Zhou Xiuwen asked.

Jiang Hui nodded, feeling a little embarrassed as she read aloud the strange names of the stores she had written down earlier.

“The Rich and Poor Secondhand Goods Market,” Zhou Xiuwen repeated, pausing for a moment. “I’ve been there before. It’s quite large, and the things inside are interesting. You should check it out.”

“You’ve been there?”

Zhou Xiuwen nodded. He had visited the place once, when he had just moved back to Planet 732. Back then, the military commander who had been accompanying his father noticed that Zhou was feeling a bit down from the change of environment, so he took him on a tour of Planet 732 and they had visited that recycling center.

However, something had happened there that frightened the uncle who had been showing him around, and after that, the man never took him out again. Naturally, he had never been back to that recycling center.

Now, hearing Jiang Hui mention it, it brought up memories from a long time ago, and Zhou Xiuwen realized that he had lived here for many years but rarely went out. It seemed like he only ever went to school, home, and a few of his father’s regular office locations, and that was about it.

This gave Jiang Hui a clearer reference. Since Zhou Xiuwen, a local, could describe the place as being large and full of interesting items, it must really be worth checking out.

Jiang Hui immediately became interested. She had already navigated to the location of the recycling center, and it wasn’t far from her house. Even if she took the city bus, it would only take about two hours, and it would be faster by airship. She thought she might as well go tomorrow and also visit the library in the city center. The books at school were too academic, and Jiang Hui was looking for a change of pace.

Perhaps her expression was too obvious, or maybe her intentions were too clear, but Zhou Xiuwen immediately noticed what she was planning. He asked if she wanted to go and, if so, whether she would like to go with him.

That wasn’t a big deal. Going alone or going with someone didn’t make much of a difference. They would each look at their own things anyway. Zhou Xiuwen had been there before, so maybe he was more familiar with the place than she was.

Jiang Hui thought that would be the end of it, but to her surprise, the others seemed to be interested as well.

The first to suggest joining the trip was Xierman, who was immediately enthusiastic about forming a group. Since they hadn’t been able to make plans on Friday, as soon as he heard they were making arrangements, he marked it down and quickly expressed interest in going along.

The second one to join was surprisingly Clarens. He had been quietly listening, but suddenly asked about the meeting place and time, clearly wanting to tag along. So, what was initially planned as a solo trip for Jiang Hui quickly turned into a group outing with four people.

Fine, one person… four people… what’s the difference between four and five?

Since four of them wanted to go, Jiang Hui couldn’t leave anyone out, so she casually asked Huan Xian, who had been listening boredly, if he wanted to join too, and received a positive answer.

She had to admit, it sounded a bit absurd. How could a group of students plan to go shopping at a secondhand recycling center after class? She was going there to collect some materials for mech experiments, but what were these rich kids planning to do? Just watch?

Hey, they seemed… like they were really just going to watch.

Jiang Hui couldn’t help but find it somewhat amusing. The group confirmed the time and location, chatted for a bit more, and then ended the call.
