Chapter 137: CHAPTER 135
"Hiss... What's happening?!"
The sleeping inhabitants of the Mokomo Dukedom on Zou, members of the Mink Tribe, were abruptly awakened. Blankets were cast aside as they hurried out of their homes, confusion etched on their faces.
"Over there! It's the Guardians, led by Master Nekomamushi! They're fighting an intruder!" exclaimed a sharp-eyed musketeer.
"An intruder? Just one? Who is it?"
"I can't tell who, but it's only one person."
The murmurs spread quickly until someone shouted, "It's Duke Inuarashi!"
Inuarashi had woken from his chambers and approached the gathering crowd, his tone laced with sarcasm. "That idiotic cat... making such a ruckus over one enemy. Pathetic."
Wanda, a loyal member of the Musketeer Squad, stepped forward, concern in her voice. "Your Grace, the intruder wields the power of thunder! Buildings and trees have been destroyed. We must assist Master Nekomamushi!"
Inuarashi hesitated. Since Oden's death, his relationship with Nekomamushi had soured deeply. Seeing that "stupid cat" was the last thing he wanted.
"Your Grace!" A musketeer on the rooftop shouted down in alarm. "There are more enemies climbing up from under Zunesha! I see their flags—it's the Beast Pirates!"
"The Beast Pirates?!"
At the mention of Kaido's crew, both Inuarashi and Nekomamushi were overcome with bitter memories of Oden's tragic end. The haunting image of their master being executed in boiling oil flashed in their minds.
Inuarashi clenched his fist. "Lady Toki's prophecy said our vengeance comes in two years, but if Kaido's dogs come here now... I'll make them pay early!"
Without another word, he transformed into a blur of motion, charging toward the battlefield. Wanda and the Musketeers followed closely.
When they arrived, Inuarashi immediately confronted Nekomamushi. "You useless cat! Can't even handle a single enemy without waking the entire island. From now on, I'll take charge of the night, too!"
"What did you say, you flea-ridden mutt?!" Nekomamushi snarled, baring his claws.
Pedro, a seasoned warrior, quickly stepped between them. "Enough! We can't afford to fight among ourselves. The enemy is formidable—it's 'Thunder Calamity' Jack, one of Kaido's three All-Stars. Our electricity has no effect on him."
The minks froze in shock. Their natural ability to generate electricity from their fur was their primary weapon. If it was useless, what could they do?
Pedro, calm and resolute, addressed them. "Use Haki or other techniques. And don't forget—tonight's a full moon!"
The realization struck like lightning. Under the moon's light, the minks could transform into their powerful Sulong forms.
Pedro let out a guttural roar as he became the first to transform, his fur turning white and his body radiating an overwhelming aura. The other minks followed, their bodies elongating and power surging. The battlefield filled with the roars of Sulong warriors, their glowing red eyes glaring at the intruders.
From the Beast Pirates' side, Sai looked up nervously. "The Sulong state? This could get messy."
Trafalgar Law, observing from a distance, remarked, "Their power and speed under a full moon are unparalleled. Attacking now wasn't a smart move."
Among Kaido's forces, a new figure stepped forward—Onimaru, wielding the legendary blade Shusui. Though less experienced than others, Onimaru's determination burned brightly. "This is how we grow stronger," he said, readying his sword.
Alastor, overseeing his subordinates, nodded approvingly. He relished the challenge, knowing that only through such intense battles could his crew strengthen themselves for the greater threats looming ahead—those posed by the World Government.
As the minks charged forward in their Sulong forms, the clash of thunder and steel filled the air, marking the beginning of a battle that would go down in the annals of Zou's history.
Alastor threw all of Tama's dumplings to Trafalgar Law: "Use your ability to find opportunities to feed those fur tribes."
Although Trafalgar Law was puzzled, he nodded without asking further questions.
He looked at Onimaru, then at Sai, who had been provoked by Onimaru into competition, and sighed slightly in his heart.
He had a faint feeling that beside the man he had to submit to, there was a team that would definitely shake the whole world in the future.
This team does not belong to Kaido of the Beasts, but only belongs to Alastor.
How did he know this?
It's very simple—Alastor never intended for them to meet Kaido, nor did he ever act on his own initiative. Even Law suspected that Kaido didn't order Doflamingo's execution.
Law truly couldn't understand why Kaido wanted to turn against Doflamingo.
It could only be attributed to Alastor's own ambition, to establish his own power.
"This is not a man willing to be subjugated," Law was convinced of this.
He himself was not someone who would willingly submit to others, and he still planned to leave Alastor in five years to establish his own family.
"There are only four of you—it's too arrogant!"
Pedro, who had transformed into a Moon Lion, was so confident that he initiated an attack on Alastor.
Though he couldn't channel electrical attacks, his physical attacks in Moon Lion form, including swordsmanship, were significantly boosted.
"You are not qualified to attack our king,"
a black blade stabbed Pedro at a tricky angle.
Pedro's fur stood on end, and a strong sense of crisis rose in his heart. He turned around and blocked with his sword but was shocked by the immense force that followed.
"How could someone so young possess such great power?" Pedro thought, realizing he had underestimated Onimaru.
As Pedro and Onimaru clashed, Sai charged into the crowd with a roar. Trafalgar Law activated his Room ability, searching for an opportunity to stuff the ball into the fur tribe's mouths.
"Stupid cat, get out of here quickly, don't disturb me!"
"You silly dog, get out!"
Inuarashi and Maomushi continued bickering but didn't forget to glance at the Moon. Both had transformed into Moon Lions.
In their Moon Lion forms, they were far stronger than in their normal forms. In the original story, they had defeated Jack and Big Mom's eldest son, Perospero, respectively.
"I just want to avenge Oden-sama and Denjiro. I don't want to quarrel with you," Maomushi snorted.
"Don't forget what Pedro said: no electrical attacks, only haki. Have you forgotten?"
"Of course not," Inuarashi responded.
"My loyalty to Oden-sama is no less than yours. And what about Denjiro?"
Maomushi clenched his fists and stared at Alastor: "Denjiro and the others were killed by this guy. Miss Hiyori was also captured by him."
"What?!"
Inuarashi was immediately furious, his face dark with rage.
"Let's put our grievances aside for now. We'll capture this guy and trade him for Miss Hiyori."
"Just as I thought," Maomushi said, though he still believed they could defeat Alastor.
"Although we've seen his strong defense, that's only in his normal form. We've ignored the fact that electrical attacks won't work against us."
With Inuarashi joining Maomushi, they had a strong chance of success.
Alastor crossed his arms and stared at the fur tribe before him. "Since you're so confident, bring it on. I hope you can cause me more harm."
Currently, Alastor's physical defense was over 15,000, meaning only disaster-level attacks could break through it.
Inuarashi and Maomushi wasted no time, attacking with their blades and claws infused with their enhanced Moon Lion strength.
"Oden One Sword Style!"
"The Dog Cut Mighty Slash!"
"The Cat-Laughing Slash!"
The two attacked from opposite sides at incredible speeds.
Puff!
Inuarashi's blade pierced Alastor's body.
Maomushi's claws sank into his flesh.
Blood gushed out.
Inuarashi sneered. "It seems your defense isn't invincible."
Maomushi added, "He's known as a Thunder Disaster. Just be wary of his lightning. Fortunately, we fur tribes are used to electricity. Ordinary thunder can't hurt us."
"One more blow and he'll be incapacitated!"
However, just as they were about to pull out their weapons and retreat, they found they couldn't remove them.
[The host is seriously injured, defense +100.]
A satisfied smile appeared on Alastor's face as he controlled his muscles to clamp down on their weapons.
"It hurts, you two. Now, feel the pain I've felt."
"My abilities aren't limited to lightning."
Alastor took a deep breath, flexing his biceps brachii, which bulged with strength. Flames ignited, merging with his haki.
"Magical Flame Intent—Double Boom Fist!"
Alastor blasted his fists into the chests of Inuarashi and Maomushi.
Their eyeballs bulged, blood spurted from their mouths, and they were sent flying hundreds of meters, crashing to the ground.
"It's so powerful! What kind of flame is that?"
"Dammit! Don't underestimate him—his abilities are bizarre!"
"You don't need to remind me!"
