The Super Lazy System

Chapter 11: The Undead Horde

"Damn system! Next time, warn me before you do something like this!"

Hikaru was still fuming over the abrupt way he had been transported to a new world. Who in their right mind teleports someone without warning? Sighing, he decided to let it slide—after all, he was already here.

Looking around, he realized he was in a dark alley, surrounded by stone and wooden buildings. The old-fashioned architecture and rustic atmosphere were completely different from the modern society he was used to.

"So this is what a fantasy world looks like..."

The peace of the town starkly contrasted with what he knew was coming. People strolled by, tending to their daily tasks, children played in the streets, and merchants loudly advertised their wares.

"A welcome change."

He stretched a little, mentally preparing for what lay ahead.

🟢 [Active Quest: City Defense]

🔹 Objective: Protect the city from the undead horde.

🔹 Time until the attack: 2 hours.

Hikaru crossed his arms, deep in thought.

"So, system, what's the plan? Do I head straight to the city gates and wipe out the monsters?"

📢 [System: Analyzing...]

📜 [Currently, Host, you have arrived before the enemy attack. Use this time to prepare.]

"Hah… so you're not completely heartless."

📜 ["Correct, Host. I literally do not have a heart.]

"Fair point."

With two hours to act, Hikaru made his way toward the city gates. Along the way, he passed by merchants and adventurers—some armed to the teeth, others wearing questionable outfits. He even spotted a fully armored knight casually drinking something strong this early in the day.

"This world sure has some characters..."

Just as he stepped outside the city gates, he noticed an adventurer sprinting toward him, covered in dirt and panting heavily. The man nearly tripped before shouting:

"Run! A horde of undead is coming! This is the end!"

The sheer panic in his voice made it clear that he wasn't joking.

"If you're that scared, go to the Adventurers' Guild and warn everyone! We're going to defend this city!"

The man hesitated for a moment but, seeing Hikaru's determined gaze, nodded and took off toward the guild.

🔴 [Alert: The undead horde has been sighted!]

🕒 Time until impact: 1 hour and 30 minutes.

"Well, things just got serious."

Taking a deep breath, Hikaru turned his gaze toward the horizon. Dust clouds began to rise, and twisted figures emerged in the distance.

"How many are there...?"

When the system displayed the answer, his eyes widened.

⚠️ [Estimated enemy count: 100,000 undead]

"Holy crap!"

For a brief moment, he questioned the sanity of the system's missions. But there was no time for doubts.

"Alright, I'll just take down as many as I can."

He extended his hand and activated one of his skills.

✨ [Skill Activated: Sword of Light] ✨

A glowing blade materialized in his grip, pulsating with sacred energy.

"This is going to be a pain... but let's do this."

Without hesitation, Hikaru charged toward the approaching horde.

Meanwhile, at the Adventurers' Guild, the warning had caused a massive uproar.

"Undead? A horde?"

"Is this a joke?!"

"No, it's real! They're coming this way!"

The guild was in chaos, but after some shouting and frantic discussions, an emergency call was made, summoning all available adventurers to the city gates.

After a few minutes of disorder, a large group finally gathered and rushed toward the battlefield.

But what they saw when they arrived left them speechless.

The undead weren't swarming the gates yet. Instead, in the middle of the open field, one man stood alone, facing the monstrous tide.

Hikaru moved like a storm. His Sword of Light cut through the undead with surgical precision, each swing turning dozens of them into glowing ashes. The ground was littered with bodies, and the air was thick with dust.

The adventurers watched in awe.

"That guy is a killing machine!"

"Is he really holding off the entire horde by himself?!"

"I wish I had that kind of power..."

But while the adventurers stood there in shock, Hikaru finally realized something.

"Wait… are none of these idiots going to help me?!"

His frustrated shout echoed across the battlefield.

And the fight had only just begun.
