Chapter 10: Holy Empire

After their time in Dwargon, Beerus and his two subordinates, Zerna and Erza, set their sights on their next destination: the Holy Empire of Lubelius. Unlike other nations, the Holy Empire held a strong disdain for monsters and had a history of conflict with primordial demons. Fully aware of this, Beerus sent Erza ahead to notify them of his impending visit.Erza's Arrival at the Holy Empire

As Erza approached the city, the powerful barrier protecting the empire immediately detected her presence. Recognizing her as a demon, alarms were raised, and within moments, dozens of soldiers—vampires and holy knights alike—surrounded her with weapons drawn, ready for battle.

The scene was amusing to Erza, who found their bravado both admirable and foolish. She released a fraction of her aura, and instantly, the soldiers fell to their knees, their weapons clattering to the ground. Sweat dripped from their faces as their bodies trembled uncontrollably. None could muster the strength to stand against her overwhelming presence.Walking slowly toward one of the soldiers, she leaned in, her crimson eyes glowing ominously. "Relax, little ones," she said with a teasing smirk. "I'm not here to destroy your city—yet. I'm here on behalf of my master, Lord Beerus. He seeks an audience with your ruler. Take me to her."

Luminous Appears

Luminous Valentine, the ruler of the Holy Empire, was lounging in her chambers, sipping wine and enjoying her usual leisure when she felt the immense pressure emanating from outside. Her instincts screamed danger, and she quickly teleported to the scene. When she arrived and saw Erza, her heart sank. She instantly recognized her as one of Beerus's subordinates, and fear gripped her. Memories of Beerus's overwhelming power at Walpurgis flooded back, and she momentarily wondered if this was an invasion. But then she remembered Beerus's promise to visit and realized this was likely a formal message.

"Stand down," Luminous commanded her soldiers. "Do not provoke her."

The soldiers, still trembling, scrambled to retreat. Luminous approached Erza cautiously. "What is your business in my city, Erza?" she asked, keeping her voice calm despite her unease.Erza tilted her head playfully. "No need to be so tense, Luminous. My master, Lord Beerus, asked me to inform you that he will be visiting soon. He thought it polite to give you time to prepare."

Luminous sighed in relief, though her guard remained up. "Understood. Tell him we will receive him properly. I'll make the arrangements immediately."

Erza smirked. "Good. Don't keep him waiting." With that, she vanished, reappearing beside Beerus to report what had transpired.Beerus's Arrival

A few hours later, Beerus decided it was time to make his appearance. Along with Zerna and Erza, he flew to the city. The guards, who had been briefed on his arrival, stood ready at the gates. Despite their training, many of them found it difficult to maintain their composure in Beerus's presence. His aura, even when restrained, carried a weight that unsettled even the bravest souls.

The head guard stepped forward, bowing deeply. "Lord Beerus, welcome to the Holy Empire of Lubelius. Lady Luminous is expecting you. Please, allow me to escort you to her."Beerus nodded, and they began their walk through the city. As they moved through the streets, Beerus couldn't help but admire the architecture and atmosphere. The city was alive, bustling with activity. The streets were impeccably clean, the buildings intricately designed, and the air carried a sense of order and discipline. It was clear that Luminous ruled her empire with precision and care.

"Hmph, not bad," Beerus remarked as he took it all in. "This place has potential."

Zerna and Erza followed silently, their sharp gazes scanning the surroundings. The citizens, unaware of the true nature of their visitors, watched from a distance, curious but wary. The Meeting with Luminous

The group was eventually led to Luminous's grand meeting room. She sat elegantly on her throne, dressed as impeccably as ever, exuding a regal air. Her two right-hand men, Louis and Gunther, stood on either side of her, their postures stiff as they stared at Beerus and his companions.

Luminous rose gracefully from her seat and offered a polite nod. "Lord Beerus, it's an honor to welcome you to my empire," she said, her voice smooth but cautious.

Beerus studied her for a moment, his expression unreadable. "You've done well in preparing for my arrival. Let's see if the rest of your empire is as well-managed as it appears from the outside."Luminous's lips tightened slightly, but she nodded. "Of course. If you wish, I can provide a tour of the city or answer any questions you may have about our governance."

Beerus smirked faintly. "That won't be necessary—for now. I'm here to observe, not interrogate. But I will say, your city is impressive. Keep it that way, and we might find ourselves on good terms in the future."

The subtle warning in his words wasn't lost on anyone in the room. Luminous bowed slightly, her mind racing with thoughts on how to ensure her empire stayed on Beerus's good side.As the meeting continued, Beerus asked pointed questions about the empire's infrastructure, trade, and military. Luminous answered carefully, knowing that any sign of weakness could spell disaster. Her subordinates stood silently, acutely aware of the razor-thin line they were all walking.

By the end of the meeting, Beerus seemed satisfied—for now. "I'll be watching," he said simply, rising from his seat. "Don't disappoint me."Luminous bowed deeply as Beerus and his subordinates left. Once they were gone, she let out a shaky breath, grateful that the encounter hadn't ended in disaster. For now, her empire remained intact—but she knew that Beerus's visit was only the beginning.

Short chapter, the couple of next once coming up will be about Beerus visiting the other demon Lords before starting his new Kingdom.
