Chapter 5: Walpurgis 1
As the Walpurgis approached, Beerus woke from his month-long slumber, his senses sharpened and his power unimaginable. He sat up in the Labyrinth, taking in his surroundings. His assistant, now evolved into Athena, stood beside him. She exuded an aura of unmatched wisdom and power, far beyond her previous form.
"Say, Athena," Beerus began, his voice tinged with curiosity, "What is the status of my powers now? Am I the strongest yet?"Athena, now fully evolved and radiating an air of authority, responded with a calm certainty, "Master, I am no longer Raphael. I am Athena now. I evolved during the Harvest Festival, and my power has greatly expanded. I am no longer bound by the limitations I once had. There is nothing I cannot answer, and nothing that I do not know. You can rest easy, Master. I will handle all of your skills and find the best way to help you achieve your goals."
Beerus smirked. He could feel the vast difference in Athena's presence compared to the past, and he found it amusing. "So you're stronger and faster now, huh? Even the way you speak has changed," he said with a small grin.Yes, Master," Athena confirmed with unwavering confidence. "I am the ultimate source of knowledge and strategy. No challenge will be too great for us now."
Beerus nodded, impressed. He had a lot to learn about the world around him, and Athena's wisdom was invaluable. His eyes flicked to the upcoming Walpurgis, the grand assembly of Demon Lords that would take place in just three days.
Ramiris, who had remained by his side, reminded Beerus, "You'll be coming with me to the Walpurgis, right?"Beerus looked at her, nodding. "Of course, but I have questions. Tell me about the Demon Lords. I want to know everything."
Ramiris, ever the enthusiastic and proud Fairy Queen, eagerly complied. She listed the Demon Lords that Beerus would soon meet—Guy Crimson, Milim Nava, Velzard, Luminous Valentine, and Draguel, with a few others being less known but still significant players. Beerus listened intently, noting the power of each individual. When Ramiris mentioned that Milim had recently become a Demon Lord, Beerus couldn't help but smileSo, a new world of toys to play with," Beerus mused. "Sounds fun."
Ramiris continued talking, and Beerus soon learned about the ongoing conflicts and power struggles between the Demon Lords. Athena, ever sharp, suggested that Beerus should summon some demons of his own to add to his forces. "They would make excellent subordinates, Master," she said.
"Noted," Beerus replied, already picturing the possibilities. Finally, the day of Walpurgis arrived. As expected, Rain—a primordial figure—arrived to pick them up and take them to the gathering. Though Rain's presence was that of a powerful entity, in front of Beerus, she felt insignificant. Beerus had ascended far beyond the beings of this world, and even the most primordial of creatures were now beneath him.
Athena spoke softly, "Master, remember what we discussed. This is your time to learn and observe. We will make our move when the time is right."With a nod, Beerus followed Ramiris and Rain, heading toward the Walpurgis. Athena, now fully in control of their powers and with a vast understanding of the world's mechanics, guided Beerus through every step.
As they made their way to the Walpurgis gathering, Beerus couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation. These Demon Lords, with all their power and influence, were just pieces in the game he was beginning to master. They would be useful pawns or formidable foes—either way, Beerus was ready for what came next. The world was about to change, and Beerus was at the center of it all.As Beerus and Ramiris entered the large room, the atmosphere was thick with tension. The Walpurgis had begun, and the most powerful beings in the world were gathered around a massive table. At the head of the table sat Guy Crimson, his fiery red hair and prideful demeanor unmistakable. Beside him was Milim Nava, who was studying Beerus intently. Despite her immense power and her ability to see through most beings, she could not get a reading on him. Her curiosity was piqued, but she kept her thoughts to herself.Next to Milim sat Luminous Valentine, a vampire dressed in a maid's attire, seemingly harmless but hiding a cunning mind. She allowed her subordinate to act as the demon lord in front of others, a clever ruse that Beerus quickly saw through. Then, at the far side of the table, there was Draguel, the Titan, whose aura was an overwhelming force, yet strangely controlled. His immense power radiated from him, but there was no erratic release, just a calm yet daunting presence.Despite their great power, the one thing that all of them felt was the oppressive pressure of Beerus's presence. It wasn't just the sheer strength or aura of power—it was a sense of dominance that emanated from him, a presence that felt like a mountain had been dropped upon them. There was no leak of energy, no outward show of force. Beerus had mastered controlling his aura to such a degree that even these seasoned Demon Lords could do nothing but feel his silent weight.
As they took their seats, the tension in the room grew. Guy Crimson leaned back in his chair, eyes flicking from one face to another, until finally, he spoke."The Walpurgis is now in session. Our main subject of discussion will be the recent awakening of an unknown Demon Lord. Who is he, and what do we know about this new power?" Guy's voice was calm but laced with intrigue.
The room went quiet, and all eyes turned toward Beerus, who remained seated with his arms crossed, observing everything. He hadn't spoken a word yet, preferring to listen to the conversations and sense the dynamics of the room.Milim was still eyeing Beerus closely, her usual exuberant energy suppressed by the confusion of not being able to read him. Luminous stayed silent but seemed to be taking mental notes, while Draguel observed Beerus with a calculating gaze, trying to gauge his strength through his body language.
Finally, Guy looked at Ramiris, expecting her to introduce her mysterious companion. Before she could speak, however, Beerus raised his hand, signaling that he would introduce himself. With a simple motion, the room fell into a stunned silence. Beerus spoke, his voice calm but carrying an undeniable weight.
"I am Beerus. No titles. No grandiose claims. I am simply here because I am stronger than most of you can imagine," he said, his eyes sweeping over the room. There was no boast in his tone, no arrogance—just an unwavering certainty.
The Demon Lords exchanged glances, trying to process the calm, almost disinterested manner in which he spoke. There was something different about Beerus—something that went beyond mere power. He wasn't just another Demon Lord or powerful being trying to make a name for himself.Milim was the first to speak, unable to keep her curiosity in check. "Wait, you're the new Demon Lord, right?" she asked, her tone a mixture of excitement and confusion. "But... there's no energy coming from you. How are you even able to be here without us sensing anything?"
Beerus's gaze shifted to her. "You can't sense me? Well, that's because I don't need to flaunt my power like you," he answered simply, his voice devoid of malice, but also completely confident. "The presence you feel... that's me, and that is enough."
The room was still. It was clear that none of them had encountered anyone like Beerus before.Guy leaned forward, clearly intrigued but hiding his true intentions. "A being who can conceal his aura completely... and yet, you claim to be stronger than any of us?" he asked, his voice tinged with both amusement and the growing realization that this could be a potential threat. "This will be interesting."
Beerus merely nodded. "Interesting? That's one way to put it," he replied, his voice dripping with the confidence of someone who had seen and been through far more than they could comprehend. The conversation shifted as Guy asked Ramiris about Beerus's origins, but the new Demon Lord remained silent, observing every word, every movement. He wasn't here to explain himself—he was here to understand who these beings were and to make his presence felt.
As the Walpurgis session continued, Beerus realized that this was just the beginning. The Demon Lords before him were strong, yes—but they were still beneath him. He was a God of Destruction, reborn into a new world, and he would shape it as he saw fit.
He didn't need to announce his dominance to them—it was already clear by the simple fact that he was there. And soon enough, they would all learn that Beerus was a force that couldn't be ignored.
