The Unfortunate Omega and the Arrogant Alpha’s Forced Marriage (Completed)

Chapter 1.3 - Unfortunate Marriage

Even though Kusunoki knew he should move, the memory of Yoichiro’s terrifying expression left him frozen. His throat tightened, and he couldn’t speak.

All he could do was shake his head slightly. The staff member gave him a polite smile in response.

That smile must be for the church’s image, Kusunoki thought bitterly.

Without saying a word, Yoichiro extended his elbow toward him. Startled, Kusunoki instinctively began to lift his gaze but quickly lowered it again.

I can’t look. I absolutely can’t.

If he looked, he would have to face that terrifying expression again. He’d have to acknowledge that he wasn’t wanted.

Keeping his eyes downcast, Kusunoki timidly touched Yoichiro’s arm with just his fingertips, as if afraid of making full contact. Yoichiro started walking without hesitation, forcing Kusunoki to scramble to keep up.

His shorter legs made it impossible to match Yoichiro’s long strides, so Kusunoki had to half-jog. His movements were awkward and clumsy, but he didn’t have the luxury to care.

As they stepped through the heavy church doors, a brilliant blue sky unfolded before them—so vivid and clear it seemed impossible for the rainy season. Fluffy clouds floated lazily in the distance, calm and inviting.

Kusunoki’s daze was broken by a sharp tug on his wrist.

“Ah…”

“Get it together.”

“S-sorry…”

Yoichiro’s cold reprimand only deepened the tension between them. His displeasure was obvious.

I messed up again… Is he already thinking about divorce?

Even though they had only just signed the marriage certificate, Kusunoki’s lack of awareness left him flustered. He quickly resumed his hesitant posture, barely brushing Yoichiro’s arm with his fingertips as they continued walking.

“Congratulations!”
“Wishing you happiness!”

Voices of celebration called out as rice was tossed in the air. Kusunoki didn’t fully understand the gesture’s meaning, but he had no choice except to keep walking down the path toward a gleaming black Rolls-Royce waiting at the end.

Just before they reached the car, the driver opened the door. Kusunoki slipped inside quickly, almost as if fleeing.

The car’s interior was spacious, with long seats that seemed to swallow Kusunoki as he shrank into the corner near the driver’s side. Across from him, Yoichiro sat in the middle seat, his commanding presence filling the space.

When the doors closed, the confined interior only heightened Kusunoki’s discomfort. The car began to move, but no one told him where they were headed.

Feeling Yoichiro’s cold gaze, Kusunoki trembled, unable to stop himself.

With a sharp exhale, Yoichiro clicked his tongue in irritation. Crossing his long legs, he pulled out his phone and focused on the screen, ignoring Kusunoki entirely.

“It’s me. I’ll be in the office in an hour. Have the documents I’m about to list ready by then.”

Yoichiro’s businesslike tone filled the car. Kusunoki tried to ignore the conversation, though it wasn’t hard—he couldn’t understand any of it anyway. The topics sounded too complex, and his mind wandered as he stared out the tinted windows.

From inside, the world outside was clear and visible, but he couldn’t fathom how the technology worked.

I wish I could’ve studied more…

If he hadn’t been born an Omega, maybe he could have. If he had been a Beta, perhaps he could’ve been useful to his father or brother.

But just as he couldn’t change the fact that he was male, he couldn’t change that he was an Omega. No matter how much he wished otherwise, that was his reality.

Because I’m an Omega…

He sat silently, his gaze fixed on the towering skyscrapers that defined Tokyo’s landscape—giant structures rising like trees in a concrete jungle.

The car eventually stopped in front of one of those skyscrapers, a massive high-end residential building with an impressive entrance.

The driver opened the door, and Yoichiro stepped out smoothly, not sparing Kusunoki a single glance. His movements were as precise and graceful as ever.

“Take this to the city office,” Yoichiro said, handing the marriage certificate to the driver.

Without waiting for a response, he turned and walked toward the entrance of the towering apartment complex. Halfway there, he stopped and looked back.

“What are you doing? Come on.”

Am I really allowed to go with him?

Kusunoki hesitated, glancing at the driver for guidance, but the man’s stoic expression offered nothing. Cautiously, Kusunoki reached for the door and stepped out, moving carefully as he followed Yoichiro’s impatient figure.

The upscale high-rise had advanced security. A fingerprint scanner unlocked the door with a mechanical click as Yoichiro pressed his hand to the panel.

Noticing Kusunoki lingering behind, Yoichiro let out an audible sigh of irritation and clicked his tongue.

“Hurry up. I don’t have all day. Put your hand here,” he ordered, pointing to the scanner.

Kusunoki flinched at the sharp command but obeyed, placing his small, trembling hand on the panel. Yoichiro operated the system efficiently, and a high-pitched beep signaled that the registration was complete.

“You’re registered now. Press 4201 on the panel and scan your fingerprint to enter freely.”

“Why…?” Kusunoki asked, his confusion slipping out before he could stop it.

He couldn’t understand why he would need access to such an expensive building. But Yoichiro’s sharp glare silenced any further questions, making Kusunoki flinch again.

“What’s in that head of yours? Do you even understand why we went to the church?” Yoichiro’s cold words cut through Kusunoki like a blade.

That’s right… I became ‘family’ with this man…

Even though Kusunoki didn’t know why Yoichiro had chosen him, he had signed the marriage certificate. He had spent countless hours wondering about Yoichiro’s motivations, but he was still in the dark.

They approached the elevator. The panel for upper-floor access lit up, and a soft chime announced the opening of the doors. Yoichiro gave Kusunoki a sharp nod, gesturing for him to enter.

Terrified but unable to disobey, Kusunoki stepped inside, standing slightly behind and to the side of Yoichiro.

Yoichiro, clearly irritated by Kusunoki’s hesitant movements, stepped out of the elevator without a backward glance when they reached their floor. Kusunoki hurried to follow, trailing behind him down the hallway to the last of three doors.

Another fingerprint scan unlocked the door, and Yoichiro stepped inside.

“Come in.”

“Y-yes…”

The interior was much larger than Kusunoki had imagined. The entrance curved into an L-shaped hallway, leading to a door at the far end, which likely opened to the living room. Instead, Yoichiro stopped midway and opened another door.

“This is your room,” he said flatly.

The room was small, about eight tatami mats in size, and completely empty except for a closet and a large window that filled the space with sunlight.

“Wow…”

Kusunoki was mesmerized by the view. From the window, he could see the Tokyo Bay area stretching all the way to the horizon. The unobstructed view made the clouds look so close, as if he could reach out and touch them.

“The door across the hall is the bathroom. You can use it freely. But never open the door at the end of the hall. Understand?”

“Yes…”

This is enough.

For the first time that day, Kusunoki’s eyes sparkled with genuine happiness. A small smile spread across his face without him even realizing it.

I’m finally living away from Father and my brothers!

His heart raced with excitement, a wave of relief washing over him.

“Hmph. Next, this way,” Yoichiro said, his tone as curt as ever, before leading him to the living room.

The living room was enormous, easily four times the size of Kusunoki’s new room. A sleek bookshelf lined with books, a modern dining table, and a massive television dominated the space.

It looked like something straight out of a magazine—minimalist, modern, and perfectly arranged, with no extra decorations like potted plants or personal touches.

Kusunoki stood awkwardly in the middle of the room, unsure what to do. Yoichiro placed a credit card on the dining table.

“It’s a family card. Use it to buy whatever you need.”

“Why…?”

“Don’t concern yourself with me. Stay out of my way. Even talking to an Omega like this feels filthy. Do whatever you want, but don’t get pregnant. Absolutely don’t. Do you understand?”

“Y-yes…”

The mention of pregnancy sent a wave of unease through Kusunoki, making him tremble slightly.

How much does this man know about me?

The excitement from earlier drained away, leaving him cold and his face pale.

I need to do better… I can’t be a burden…

As an Omega, he was already a flaw in Yoichiro’s life. Kusunoki clenched his hands into fists and bowed his head deeply, more so than he ever had before.
