The villains road to immortality

Chapter 6: Trick or Real?

News soared through the entire country.

The Yan clan's patriarch, Yan Xi, was beaten up and crippled by not just anybody, but a exiled member called, Yan Long!

"Yan Long! I knew him when he was a kid!"

"I'm actually his son!"

"I'm his distant distant cousin!"

Such talks were all over the nearby town.

However, Yan Ji still didn't know about this.

Mo Yue had attained the twilights dew and remade her talent.

When she had learned about what happened, she was shocked.

This wasn't supposed to happen so soon!

This must have to do with Yan Ji losing his memories.

Before, she thought that maybe he was simply tricking her or something along those lines.

However, even after the news was completely wide spread, Yan Ji never appeared.

If it was the old Yan Ji, he would have done everything in his power to destroy Yan Long.

She didn't delay any further and ran to where she had seen Yan Ji.

If Yan Ji remembers the past...

To be honest, it wouldn't really matter.

Yan Long and Mo Yue had fought against even gods, wouold they be scared of any minor enemies?

However she needed the past to stay the same until she was more powerful. Otherwise, it would branch out beyond her memories.

As soon as she got closer to the center of the forest, she could hear a loud cry of monkeys and...

"WooWoohaaha!!"

In her eons of age, she had never seen such a strange scene.

Yan Ji dressed in bright red robes as he jumped around as he was being worshipped by lesser monkey demons.

Never in a 1000 years did she imagine this scene to ever appear in front of her.

Yan Ji noticed Mo Yue and instinctively took a step back.

It was like a part of him had been exposed, a very deep part of himself.

It looks like...He really has lost his memories.

There was no longer any doubt about it. Yan Ji had amnesia. Even he wouldn't stoop so low as to act like this all for a trick.

However there was still one last thing she needed to confirm.

"Yan Ji! I've been looking for you!"

Yan Ji kept a corporate face as he looked at her with no emotions, as if she hadn't witnessed him previously...

"What is it?"

"Er....First of all, can you get down from there?"

Right now, Yan Ji was sitting on the stone throne which was a couple levels above.

Yan Ji complied and jumped down. In either case, it was better to listen before starting a fight. If he could, he had a better chance at winning if he had a conversation.

"Please, go ahead."

Still not used to his personality shift, she cleared her throat and looked at hims sadly.

"Yan Ji..." She spoke slowly and enunciated every word as clearly as she could. "Your father..is dead!"

Tears rolled down her eyes. She looked at him with a blurry vision, wanting to know how he'd react.

And he only said one word.

"Oh."

....

That's it?

"Y-your father died and all you can say is, oh?"

Yan Ji took a bite out of an apple as he was completely devoid of any feelings.

"It's fated, he's dead and as his son, I should move on."

She looked in his eyes. With her experience, she still couldn't believe in what she saw.

Complete indifference.

Mo Yue was sure of it now. No matter how he hid his emotions, he couldn't hide anger, hatred, and especially not vengeance.

The only reason why he would feel such indifference was naturally because...he had amnesia.

"Then do you know your fathers killer?"

"No?"

"His name was...Yan Long!"

She studied him even closer and she finally saw some emotions in his eyes.

However it was...

"Ahh....I see."

Was it because I ran away from the duel? The main character really is petty.

This was because Yan Ji didn't know the backstory of Yan Long.

Yan Long's father was originally the patriarch who led the Yan family. However not only did his mother get murdered by Yan Ji's father, his father also severed his cultivation.

With such a deep grudge, Yan Long would gladly burn down the whole Yan family!

"Is that all?"

Don't tell me she came all this way just to tell me this?

However his paranoia started snowballing the moment he asked himself this question.

Fuck! Why is she here!?

Did she come to get me to return!? He's already killed my father, if I go back its certain death!

No wait, what if she's here to kill me herself!? Considering that she could have a grudge on me, she might act now that I don't have any backing and have ran away from my sect!

Can I win!?

Where should I run to!

In his mind, he had already decided that he couldn't win and that even trying was pointless. The only way left was to search for a way out. He looked to for any escape routes as she was lost in her own dialogue.

"Yan Ji, I think–"

Before she could even say another word, he had already jumped away and grabbed on several vines to fly away! All the monkeys were left confused and even they scratched their head.

Mo Yue was left speechless as she could still hear him roaring out as his voice began to fade away.

Forget it. This is his karma. To live like a wild animal might just be his retribution; a fate worse than death.

She walked away as she shook her head and sighed.

Meanwhile Yan Ji was parkouring and doing flips to get away as fast as he could! Maybe he wouldn't beat a flying sword, but he can at least get some distance before....

He turned around and saw that no one was there.

Realizing Mo Yue wasn't chasing, he began thinking.

Should I go back to the monkeys?

But his paranoia said otherwise.

"No, I can't!" He continued in the same direction he had ran to.

"My hideouts been busted. What if she changed her mind and came back?"

Thus he decided to run away from there and never returned again.

Little did he know:

Yan Long: 40%

Mo Yue: 60%

Shen Yuexin: 30%

BaoBao: 10%

Demon Lord Tian Zun: 40%
