Chapter 580: Come Back
(From Blue's Perspective)
"Come back, my love. We are all waiting for you- me, our children. Come back to us, my love. You can do it."
'Do what? I want to kill. I want blood. Can you give me that?'
I was not sure if I said it out loud. It was physically impossible to talk with a forked tongue. All I heard was hissing.
The room was dark, but I could see everything. I saw a kid looking at me. He was very little. He was standing up in his crib, crying. Crying for someone to hold him.
I knew him. I saw him somewhere. Maybe I held him too. I could not remember the exact feeling. The memory was hazy too. Or, maybe there was no memory there.
I was just imagining everything.
I felt a pain in my head. But I also felt better than ever. It was a kind of freedom that I had never experienced before. It was like getting rid of the string of sense inside me that made me a human. I wanted to be wild, free of morality of any kind and be like a wild animal. It must be fun, to be so free.
The man in front of me had a sympathetic expression. But more than anything else, he was calm, at least pretending to be calm. I knew he was panicked. He also looked oddly familiar. A lot familiar actually. I could almost recognize me.
Suddenly, he wrapped his arms around me. It was warm. He had blood on his body. The smell was almost surreal. I felt the urge to lick him. Was that his blood?
Well, but blood nonetheless.
"You are my wife. You are Blue. You are a Queen. You are everything, but mainly, you are Blue. You are a human. Everything comes after that.
You have to remember that. You must," he whispered into my ear.
Something snapped in me. And before I realized, I was sliding down in his arm, my vision blurred and then completely dark.
I was trapped. But I also escaped. But what did I escape? Could I explain it at all? Was it even possible to explain something like that?
When I woke up, I felt fresh. I had not felt like this in a while. I woke up to a dazzling light from the window.
There was no one in the room. Then I realized I was wrong. There was a maid. She was the elderly maid who always knitted caps and socks for my kids.
"Matilda," I muttered.
"You are awake, Your Highness," she said calmly. One interesting fact about Matilda was that she was never panicked. She never shouted. She was calm and emotionless, all the time.
Matilda did not serve me in particular. She was paid a fair amount for serving the previous King and Queen. Now, she was old and she was to rest. Dem made sure of that. Dem said Matilda was kind to him, not just because he was a Prince. She was genuinely kind and cared for him.
So, she was told to rest and was even given a place, but she wanted to stay at the palace and work. That was exactly what she did.
"What are you doing here, Matilda?" I asked.
"His Highness told me to keep an eye on Your Highness," she replied coolly.
"Where are the kids? How are they? Demian hasn't cried, has he?"
"Prince Dion was sleeping when His Highness took him with him. But Prince Demian was crying a lot," she said, her hands working constantly. "I suppose Prince Demian is one of those types of kids who do not want to part from their mothers."
"Can you give me some water, Matilda?"
She got up from the chair and gave me a glass of water. She was very agile which was something envious since she was quite old. If I ever grew old, I was sure I would not be like her. I would be sick and in need of constant assistance. But it did not matter. I would not get old.
I would stop aging any day. I did not know when. Cyan said it would happen naturally when I was ready.
The water made me feel refreshed. It was very odd. I was not supposed to feel this good in the morning. It was not even nine yet.
The room smelled like it had been cleaned very recently. Of course, it had been. It must have been a mess last night.
It chilled me how I did not even shiver at the thought of how many people I killed.

"Thank you, Matilda," I said, handing her the empty glass. "Where is the King and the kids?"
I freshened up and wore a good dress. I had not been in the mood for something fancy in a while. But I felt good today. So, I should dress up a little.
The black soft and moist silk dress made me feel like I was wearing nothing at all. It was just too light and soft on the skin. The fabric was as delicate as a newborn's skin.
I made my way to the meeting hall. The guards gasped since they had not seen me in the last few days. Besides, the story of something happening in our bedroom last night probably spread all over the palace and beyond.
I gestured with my finger at the room and they nodded. There was a meeting going on.
I pondered whether I would go in or not. Then, I decided to sneak a peek first.
They opened the door slightly for me and I looked through the gap. The men and women had their backs towards the door as they sat around a round table. The room was not full. Only ten people were in that room, including my husband and excluding our two sons who were also in that room. Dion was in Dem's arms and Demian was in a crib right beside Dem's chair.
It was such an awkward thing, but also quite beautiful. I felt guilty that Dem had to take care of the kids like that. He could not even attend a meeting peacefully.
I pushed the door further and stepped into the room. All eyes were on me, at once. I was used to it, but still, I felt a little self-conscious.
I nodded at everyone, not bothering to look at anyone for more than a mere second. I walked over to Dem whose lips were pressed in a hard line. I took Dion from him and Demian from the crib.
"I will take the kids," I said to him softly and kissed him gently on the lips. "Go on with the meeting."
