The Winner Of Life

Chapter 31: Competition

The sun dipped below the horizon, casting the battlefield in a fiery glow as Arjun stood, his eyes were ablaze with determination. His name echoed through the air like a war cry, like a beacon of hope against the impending darkness. His unruly black hair was dancing around him. His Golden eyes ablaze in flame.

He was of course in the secret dimension created by Shen Xi. Shen Xi and Qingyue observed him from outside. Shen Xi was ready for any action they needed to take and Qingyue was ready to take notes for every mistake.

Before him, a horde of magical beasts emerged from the shadows, their eyes gleaming with malevolence. Creatures of myth and nightmare, each one a twisted creation of magic and darkness. The ground quivered beneath the onslaught as they charged, a sea of claws, scales, and fangs.

Arjun raised his hands, and in an instant, the air ignited around him. Flames erupted, swirling into a torrent of fire as hot as the sun itself. The battlefield became a dance of light and shadow, with Arjun at its epicentre.

The magical beasts hesitated, their instinctual fear of fire momentarily outweighing their hunger for destruction. But hunger prevailed, and with a roar, they lunged at Arjun. Undaunted, he extended his palms, directing the flames into a wall of searing heat.

The first wave crashed against the wall of fire, their howls drowned by the roar of the inferno. Arjun's eyes gleamed with intensity as he manipulated the flames with a mastery that bordered on artistry. He twirled and danced, a fiery waltz that left destruction in its wake.

Yet, the magical beasts were relentless, their numbers seemingly endless. Arjun's energy waned, beads of sweat mingling with the flickering embers around him. The battle raged on, the clash of elements echoing through the secret realm.

As the tide of magical beasts surged, Arjun summoned the last reserves of his strength. He gathered the flames into a blazing tornado, a cyclone of fire that swept through the enemy ranks. The beasts howled in agony, their forms consumed by the searing vortex.

In the aftermath, the battlefield lay in ruins, the once-ferocious horde reduced to smouldering remnants. Arjun stood amidst the charred remains, his body weary but victorious. The flames around him dimmed, and with a final breath, he extinguished the remaining embers.

The secret dimension was silent once more, the only sound the crackling of dying flames.

"Fuck! This time the beasts were far stronger than before." Arjun cursed as he felt exhausted. He had used up all of his energy this time.

Suddenly his body started to fade as he left the secret realm and appeared outside. Qingyue gulped as she looked at his exhausted face.

She wasn't surprised by how well he fought. She knew that he was strong. After all, he has absolute fire affinity plus with 'Golden Crow's Record of the Burning World', he was like a god of fire.

She was surprised because she had noticed that the beasts were stronger than before. But that didn't waver her conviction for getting stronger.

She took a step forward and nodded at Shen Xi. Shen Xi also smiled and nodded at her. Qingyue soon disappeared from there and appeared inside another secret dimension. It was different from the one Arjun fought.

A Desolate Icy Plain.

On the desolate icy plain, the moon cast an ethereal glow as Qingyue, with crystalline blue eyes, stood resolute. The frigid winds whispered her name like a reaper, and a horde of magical beasts emerged from the shadows, drawn to her icy power.

Qingyue raised her hands, and the air around her crackled with an otherworldly cold. Her breath formed frosty clouds as the horde approached, a relentless tide of claws, scales, and sinister eyes.

Qingyue's heart raced, a mix of fear and determination coursing through her veins.

As the first wave descended upon her, Qingyue unleashed a torrent of freezing mist, crystallizing the creatures in their tracks.

Yet, the magical beasts were resilient, breaking free from their icy prisons with snarls of fury. Qingyue retreated, creating barriers of solid ice to shield herself from the relentless assault.

The battle unfolded like a deadly dance on the frozen stage. Qingyue's movements were a blend of grace and desperation as she manipulated the temperature around her.

Each wave of her hand unleashed blasts of frost that turned the air into a swirling blizzard, obscuring the battlefield.

The magical beasts, undeterred by the biting cold, pressed on with an unwavering determination. Qingyue's powers strained against the sheer number of foes.

Her icy barriers shattered like glass, and Qingyue found herself surrounded. In a desperate gambit, she summoned the bitter cold to its extreme, plunging the area into a pocket of near absolute zero.

The magical beasts faltered, their movements slowed by the intense cold. Qingyue seized the opportunity, encasing them in layers of ice that shimmered like fragile sculptures. Yet, the strain on her was palpable, her limbs felt as if encased in ice themselves.

As the last of the magical beasts succumbed to the frozen onslaught, Qingyue stood amidst the icy aftermath, her breath visible in the cold air. She had emerged victorious, but the cost was etched on her face.

But there was still a small smile at the corner of her lips. Though she didn't do as well as Arjun, she still managed to defeat all of them.
