The Winner Of Life

"My lord, these monsters are strong but without any intelligence. Why is that so?" Hakurou asked as he finished the wolf beast.

"It's how the law works in this universe. The stronger a monster becomes, the more intellect they will get. Only after reaching the emperor's realm or with a strong bloodline can one have human-like intelligence." I answered to make his doubt clear.

"Sigh! If a few monsters of this calibre enter our world, it would be a disaster." He sighed and shook his head.

"Only for those who are weak. Monsters like you, Lizard man, or some higher rank would survive easily. Unless a sovereign realm beast enters, most of the higher rank monsters survive. Even if a sovereign realm monster enters, you have Dragon and demon lord to face them." I replied and continued to go deeper into the forest.

Hakurou nodded his head. He himself can face most of the beast. According to his lord, his full power level is at Overlord rank.

After another 30 minutes of walking, we finally reached our destination. The entrance to the dragon god legacy was hidden in a small cave.

Around the cave it's very calm. There is no sign of any monster near the cave. Except for the two water warms, which haven't become dragons yet.

I walked towards the cave, and Hakurou followed me from behind. But as soon as we were near the pond, the water started to bubble up as if something was surfacing.

Hakurou took a step forward to face the upcoming attack. But I stopped him. "Stop, they are two of few intelligent beasts."

The next second two snakes or worms that would soon turn to a dragon came out of the water. They have faint traces of dragon bloodline inside.

I could feel it because I, myself, am a dragon. It's more like a Dragon god.

As soon as they came out, instead of attacking, they actually bowed their heads and crawled on the ground like two obedient pets.

I chuckled and walked towards them. I patted their heads, which clearly made them happy. They can't talk yet, but they can show their emotions easily.

Hakurou caressed his beard and nodded. 'They know whom to submit.' He thought

I took out two pills from the pearl and gave one each. "Eat this pill. It will cleanse your blood, and you will be able to reach the Divine realm when the time comes."

Both of them excitedly opened their mouths and ate the pill. As soon as they ate it, it had already started to work on their blood.

"Go inside the water and cultivate." I told them

They looked at me thankfully and bowed again. Then they looked at each other and nodded their heads and then again looked at me.

"Call us if you ever need us."

"We will do anything for you."

Suddenly, I got two voice messages inside my head. I smiled and nodded at them. They then entered the water, and the surface returned to normal.

"Why did you help them, my Lord?" Hakurou asked

"Well, I don't know. Maybe because I am the god of the dragon and monster race that's why?" I gave an unsure answer.

True, I really helped them only because I felt the Dragon blood in them. It's like they were small kids who needed my help. So I helped them.

"Let's go. Let's not make another one of my kind wait for too long." I said and walked towards the entrance of the cave.

But I stopped and turned to Hakurou and said "can you block mind reading skills?"

Hakurou looked confused and answered "it depends on the reader. If he is too strong, then I wouldn't be able to block."

"Well, at his prime, he was stronger than mother, but currently it's just his soul. But even then, it would be very strong." I replied

Hakurou sighed and replied "well then let's not take risks. It seems I let you down with my inability."

I shook my head and said "it's not your fault. The opponent is god, after all."

He nodded, and I unsummoned him. I then turned to the entrance and took a step ahead.
