Wes immediately stretched out his hand, eager to seize the book from Dumbledore. Just as his fingers were about to graze the ancient tome, Dumbledore swiftly turned his wrist and pulled the book back, his movements fluid and sharp.

That reflex... it was hard to believe this man was over a hundred years old.

Awkwardly, Wes retracted his hand and glanced at Dumbledore, a hint of embarrassment flickering in his eyes.

But Dumbledore didn't meet Wes's gaze. Instead, he turned to the bookshelf and carefully selected several volumes, placing them neatly on the desk. The titles were:

History of EgyptAn Introduction to Ancient EgyptianEgyptian MythologyEgypt: Wonders and Mysteries

"Professor, what do you mean by this?" Wes asked, perplexed. None of these books resembled the Book of the Egyptian Dead he had been so eager to obtain. For a moment, he thought Dumbledore might have changed his mind.

"Wes," Dumbledore said with a gentle smile, "do you understand ancient Egyptian?"

Wes shook his head. He had never delved into the mysteries of ancient Egypt, let alone its complex language.

"Are you familiar with Egyptian mythology?" Dumbledore's eyes twinkled knowingly.

Suddenly, realization dawned on Wes.

Dumbledore's perceptive gaze softened as he saw Wes's expression change. "If you wish to comprehend the Egyptian Book of the Dead, you must first understand the ancient Egyptian language and its mythology."

Wes nodded eagerly, grasping the importance of this first step. Without hesitation, he gathered the books from the desk. His determination burned bright—he wanted nothing more than to devour every page and master the ancient language as soon as possible.

However, reality proved far more challenging than his ambition had anticipated. The ancient Egyptian language was cryptic and intricate. Days passed, and yet Wes found himself barely scratching the surface.

As for Voldemort's diary, Wes had temporarily pushed it aside. He believed that the diary, being Voldemort's first Horcrux created when he was merely a student, likely contained little advanced magic. Its greatest significance lay in the Chamber of Secrets and the Basilisk it controlled. But even that paled in comparison to the allure of the Egyptian Book of the Dead.

Wes's arduous study continued until the first Friday afternoon of the new semester—his first lesson as a professor.

As he approached the classroom door and grasped the handle, his mind was still entangled in the complexities of ancient Egyptian texts. But the moment he opened the door, he froze, utterly stunned.

"Whoa—did I walk into the wrong room?" he muttered in disbelief.

The classroom was packed, nearly double the number of students compared to last year. The lively chatter and bustling energy made the room feel almost claustrophobic.

Wes spotted familiar faces—Harry, Ron, Malfoy, and the mischievous Weasley twins—alongside many unfamiliar ones.

Each student had their own reason for choosing this course, their eyes brimming with expectations and curiosity.

Harry, Ron, and Hermione sat together as always. For Harry, the choice was simple. The battle he had witnessed last year in the Forbidden Forest—Wes's duel with Voldemort—had left an indelible mark. He was drawn to Wes's immense power and longed to learn equally formidable magic.

Ron's reason was far less dramatic. He merely didn't want to be left behind by his friends. The thought of being excluded was unbearable, so he enrolled without hesitation. Still, curiosity about Wes lingered in his mind, fueled by a secret task assigned by his father: to observe Wes for any peculiarities.

The Weasley twins, Fred and George, were intrigued by alchemy and had been encouraged by Professor McGonagall to take the course. Most other students, however, were drawn in by the rumor that this class had minimal homework. One class or many, what's the difference? they thought.

Wes wasn't particularly concerned.

After the first class, he didn't assign any homework, instructing new students to borrow notes from last year's attendees instead. The students were thrilled—a course without homework felt like a blessing.

All except Hermione, who frowned in dissatisfaction. She firmly believed that Wes's workload was far too light.

As Wes prepared to leave, Fred and George Weasley approached him with identical grins.

"Professor Irwin~" Fred chimed, his tone playful.

"Professor McGonagall mentioned you're quite skilled in alchemy," George added swiftly.

"We have so many questions," Fred continued, feigning urgency.

"Can we ask for your help?" George finished, his face the picture of sincerity.

The twins spoke in perfect sync, their words weaving seamlessly together.

"Er... Weasley brothers?" Wes replied, struggling to tell them apart.

They grinned mischievously.

"I'm Fred," said the one on the left, the sparkle in his eyes unmistakable.

"I'm George," said the one on the right, mirroring his brother's expression.

"Alright," Wes sighed, making a mental note of who was who. "May I see your transcripts?"

"Sure," they said in unison, already prepared.

Wes glanced at the papers and found a sea of mixed results—several P's (Poor) in Divination and History of Magic, but a string of O's (Outstanding) in practical subjects like Transfiguration and Charms.

Their talents were undeniable.

"You two are... quite selective with your subjects," Wes remarked, eyebrows raised.

"We're not bookworms," Fred quipped.

"We don't want to be prefects," George added.

"We just focus on what we love," they concluded together.

Wes felt a headache coming on. Twins—especially mischievous ones—were notoriously challenging. Their sharp minds and boundless creativity could lead to utter chaos.

Yet, they had been recommended by Professor McGonagall, someone Wes deeply respected from his own student days.

"Alright," Wes relented. "I'll be available every Wednesday night. You can come to my office with your questions then."

"Brilliant!" the twins exclaimed, high-fiving each other.

"Thanks, Professor!" they called out as they dashed off excitedly.

From that day on, every Wednesday night, Fred and George sought Wes's guidance on alchemy. Their innate talent and unconventional ideas often sparked inspiration in Wes himself.

Their enthusiasm didn't go unnoticed. The infamous pranksters of Hogwarts were suddenly seen poring over books in the library, deep in study. When asked, they simply promised that something big was in store.

Percy Weasley beamed with pride, convinced that his younger brothers had finally matured under his influence.

Ron, however, rolled his eyes. "They're definitely up to something," he muttered, unconvinced.

Yet, as Halloween approached, the twins had yet to stir any mischief.
