Chapter 586 - 586: Ling Ruonan's Precautions
Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Ling Ruonan’s Precautions
(Second Update)
It was already time for lunch, and if no one arranged it, lunch couldn’t even be held. Ling Mingrui, of course, had to go out and give some instructions.
To prepare for Ling Jinhua’s birthday banquet, Ling Mingrui had Xie Enhua take charge of the preparations for the evening and the midday banquets. She had brought in several top chefs and matching service staff from the state guest house, specifically to cater to the old man’s birthday banquet.
The old man usually didn’t like to organize such gatherings at the old mansion, only occasionally keeping some favored juniors around for meals. Most of the descendants of the Ling Family didn’t receive this treatment.
Ling Mingrui wasn’t concerned about the matter, but after the intense conflict that had just occurred, he still needed to go out and soothe everyone’s emotions.
Ling Ruonan was very despondent as she took Luo Ziling out when they ran into Xie Enhua waiting at the entrance to the small garden.
In the entire Ling Family, the one who cared most for Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling was probably Xie Enhua. She had always been helping Ling Ruonan, figuring out ways to bring Luo Ziling back as soon as possible. Luo Ziling was able to study in Yanjing thanks to the great efforts of Xie Enhua.
Xie Enhua had always been fond of Ling Ruonan and was distressed over her daughter’s trials. After what had happened today, she was even more worried that her daughter would be wronged and afraid that Luo Ziling, who had just reunited with his mother, would be sent away, causing mother and son to be separated again. Seeing the two come out, Xie Enhua immediately went up to meet them and whispered to Ling Ruonan, “Nannan, how did it go? Why don’t we go have lunch first?”
“Mom, we’re going back!” Ling Ruonan said with a bitter smile, “We won’t be having lunch here.”
“Ah, why so? No, that won’t do, I’m going to talk to the two old men,” Xie Enhua instantly became angry, “I won’t allow them to bully my daughter.”
“Grandma, we’re fine, we’ll go back and rest for a bit, and come back in the afternoon, go back and reflect for a while.” Moved by Xie Enhua’s actions, Luo Ziling didn’t change how he addressed her.
“Oh?!” Xie Enhua looked at Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling with confusion before finally saying nothing more, “Alright then, come back in the afternoon.”
So, Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan left the Ling Family Old Mansion, under the watchful eyes of many descendants of the Ling Family, one step ahead.
As their car drove away from the old mansion, many were there, gloating.
“Hmph, thought they were so amazing, isn’t it just that the old man chased them away?” Holding back a bellyful of anger, Ling Haijun, who had not stood up during the argument, couldn’t help but murmur to Ling Haining, “Maybe the old man chased their mother and son away.”
“You think too simply,” Ling Haining replied coldly to Ling Haijun, “Do they look like they were chased away? They left with their heads held high. Which means, the old man and my grandfather didn’t blame them, mother and son. Do you understand what that implies?”
Hearing Ling Haining say this, Ling Haijun’s face instantly changed, and he said in disbelief, “Would our great-grandfather and grandfather really let them do whatever they want in the old mansion? Let them beat up so many descendants of the Ling Family and remain indifferent?”
“That’s the reality,” Ling Haining was furious inside, but his expression didn’t change, “Maybe they think we deserved to be beaten.”
“Could it be that our great-grandfather and grandfather are dissatisfied with us and want to use outsiders to teach us a lesson?” Ling Haijun still found it somewhat hard to believe.
“You think too simply; it’s much more complicated than we think,” Ling Haining said, and then solemnly cautioned Ling Haijun a few more times, “There are more people anxious about this matter than we are. Let’s listen to the elders’ plans and just watch the drama unfold.”
“Yes, Brother, I understand!” Ling Haijun quickly agreed, then chuckled again, “The older generation, even the one before that, must be more anxious than us. The parents of the person who got beaten by that bastard will surely go crying and making a fuss to Grandpa and Great-grandpa.”
“Haven’t you learned your lesson just now? If you dare to call him a bastard again, he might just smash your mouth. Remember, next time you see him, you must call him cousin.” Ling Haining reminded him very seriously.
“Brother, are you preparing to submit to him?” Ling Haijun asked, surprised.
Ling Haining did not answer but simply glared at him sternly.
Ling Haijun dared not say anything else.
Meanwhile, the other descendants of the Ling Family were still discussing Ling Ruonan and Luo Ziling’s departure from the Old Mansion, still assuming the mother and son were driven out; they continued to disdainfully refer to Luo Ziling as the bastard. It wasn’t until Xie Enhua came out and scolded them that they finally shut up.
Xie Enhua looked coldly at those Ling Family descendants who were spouting nonsense, scolded them for a few words, then fiercely threatened, “If I hear anyone talking nonsense again, don’t blame me for being impolite.”
The authority of Mrs. Ling still held strong; whether they had been beaten or simply disliked Luo Ziling, the discontented Ling Family descendants eventually closed their mouths, not daring to say anything more.
But Ling Qingqing, who had just spoken up for Luo Ziling, was obviously ostracized, with most people unwilling to talk to her or play with her, and some even deliberately bullied her. However, after being reprimanded by Ling Haining, the bullies also did not dare to say anything further.
“Qingqing, let’s go inside and ignore them,” Ling Haijun now understood Ling Haining’s intention more clearly, so he took the initiative to call Ling Qingqing over.
Ling Qingqing, treated so well by her two older cousins, was immediately happy and went inside to play with them.
While the scene in the Ling Family Old Mansion’s garden remained intense, Luo Ziling and Ling Ruonan had already left the heavily guarded area by car. On the way, mother and son didn’t say much.
Seeing Ling Ruonan’s stern face made Luo Ziling feel a bit guilty.
“Let’s talk when we get home,” Ling Ruonan said softly and then restrained the coldness in her eyes, giving Luo Ziling a bitter smile before grabbing his hand, “Anyway, what’s done is done, we’ll face it together. No matter what, Mom is willing to share any burden with you.”
Luo Ziling nodded solemnly.
After returning to the villa, Ling Ruonan asked Luo Ziling to rest in his room, while she would have a talk with Wuyue.
Luo Ziling didn’t know what Ling Ruonan wanted to discuss with Wuyue, but he didn’t ask further, obediently going to the room upstairs, lying on the bed, and resting with his eyes closed.
After Luo Ziling went upstairs, Ling Ruonan called Wuyue into the study.
“Transfer these assets to Ziling and your names in the shortest time possible. These companies should also be transferred to their names. On Monday tomorrow, strive to complete all the transfer procedures by this Friday. All stocks and bonds in my securities account should be transferred to the two of you as well. Remember one thing, this must be done discreetly, no one outside us three should know, especially anyone from the Ling Family.” Ling Ruonan instructed, handing a list to Wuyue and singling out a few projects that must be handled promptly.
The directives from Ling Ruonan surprised Wuyue so much that he couldn’t react at once.
