This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist

Chapter 559: 559: Divine Game: Chaotic Restaurant 79

This female-frequency rabbit will be called Rabbit 5 from now on.

Rabbit 5 tapped Rita's shoulder with a paw and slowly said, "I'll trade you a rabbit hair for it."

Rita, not particularly bothered by the hassle, flipped back around and asked, facing Rabbit 5, "You can just take it. This is wild bone; anyone can pick it up."

Although the bone was of decent quality and carried a fair amount of attack power—after all, she had picked it as her weapon—Rita had no intention of keeping it. She had already obtained Betrayal Oath, and she could use it for the rest of the game.

The bone was fine to hand over, and as for the rabbit hair...

While Rita liked getting things without effort, she truly couldn't figure out Rabbit 5's intentions.

The bone from the restaurant wasn't worth just one rabbit hair, right?

She still remembered the skill icon incident where Rabbit 5 dragged away her skill icon.

Although it was all a trade, she preferred transactions like the one with Rabbit 1. Even though the offers made her uneasy, she felt those were proper exchanges because the goods and prices were balanced, which made her feel conflicted.

That's why she'd rather just give the bone to Rabbit 5 for free and avoid further complications.

Rabbit 5 nodded, no longer pressing the issue. Standing up, they grabbed the large bone—almost twice their height—and muttered to themselves, "What good luck... such a near-mutated ingredient... hmm, quite nice."

Rita's ears perked up. "What?!"

Rabbit 5 didn't leave immediately. Holding the bone in front of them, one paw gently stroked the bone, now free of meat and oil, nodding in admiration, "Quite nice, very nice."

Rita was starting to feel uncomfortable, a prickling sensation crawling over her skin. She felt like she was being tricked into buying some health product, but what if...?

Rita quickly sent a message to her personal assistant: "Is what they said true?"

B8017913: "Unclear. Ingredients can indeed mutate, but there's no fixed mutation method, and it's difficult to tell before an ingredient fully mutates."

Rita: "Are mutated ingredients very expensive? Do they become better or worse?"

B8017913: "Mutation effects are random, and the taste is uncontrollable. However, even ordinary ingredients can become ten times more expensive after mutation. Skilled chefs like to collect mutated ingredients for research and exploration."

Rita sat up and twisted her tail, facing Rabbit 5, staring at them without blinking.

Rabbit 5 didn't acknowledge her gaze. Instead, they tapped the bone on the ground and then swung it around in circles, making a sound like clack-clack.

Rita stared for five minutes. Rabbit 5 really just played with the bone for those five minutes, not leaving.

Unable to take it anymore, Rita finally asked, "Alright, clack-clack, what do you really want?"

Rabbit 5 blinked blankly for a moment, then asked, "What's 'clack-clack'?"

Rita replied, "Tell me what you want, and I'll tell you what 'clack-clack' is."

Rabbit 5 placed the bone into the ground and stopped the unnecessary motions. "I want to buy the White Boat you have."

Rita's first thought was: You're still fanboying?

Her second thought was: That White Boat figurine is definitely not simple!

But her face showed surprise as she asked, "How did you know I have the White Boat?"

"Skills," Rabbit 5 explained. As usual, any logical or illogical reasoning could be explained with skills. "I like that god, so I want to pay a high price to buy it."

Rita didn't mind Rabbit 5's excuse. She paused and then asked, "So, are there a lot of gods' figurines or merchandise in the World Battlefield?"

Rabbit 5 didn't want to answer this question and instead asked again, "Will you sell it?"

Rita: "How many White Boat figurines are there in the World Battlefield? Is it a limited edition?"

Rabbit 5: "…That information costs extra."

Rita: "How much? Is it expensive?"

Rabbit 5 stared back at Rita, knowing full well her intention to fish for answers. Any price would give away too much. If it gave a price, BS-Rita would probably guess the answer.

Seeing that Rita wasn't biting, Rabbit 5 tried again, "What price would you offer?"

Rita, realizing Rabbit 5 was hesitant, responded: "This kind of item has a fluctuating price. Those who like it will pay a high price, but if you don't meet the right buyers, you won't sell it for much."

Rita suddenly took out the White Boat figurine with her left hand and, with her right, held the cloudy flower petal that would dissipate with the wind. She held them up in front of Rabbit 5 and asked, "If you were to buy one, which do you think would be more expensive, the White Boat or the petal?"

Rabbit 5: !!!

Cold sweat started dripping from their face. This was a deadly question!

"Just ask whether Deceitful Bloom or the captain is more powerful!"

B8017913: "Vicious, huh?"

Rita: "Ah, I'm just asking about the figurine prices! What were you guys thinking?"

B8017913: "Aren't you worried the gods will know you know their names and that they're watching you?"

Rita: "They gave me the items, so I'd know. Pretending I don't is just insulting our intelligence."

B8017913 realized: Ah, so I'm just a part of your play…

Rabbit 5, still holding the bone, stood there for a long time without saying anything, like a statue.

In that moment, they appeared helpless and fragile.

Rita understood. It seemed Deceitful Bloom and the White Boat owner were stronger than Rabbit 5.

What she didn't know was that Rabbit 5's godly chat channel was nearly about to explode.

Rabbit 5 decided to follow Celestia's advice and asked Rita, "I'm willing to offer the same price for both. How about you? Which one do you think is more valuable?"

Rita solemnly retrieved the White Boat and Deceitful Bloom, giving Rabbit 5 a disapproving look, "Trying to put a price on them and turn them into commodities is just too much. They're priceless to me."

She then gave Rabbit 5 a long, hard look, sighing, "Your fondness for the gods is not pure."

Rabbit 5: "......"

The captain and Deceitful Bloom must be starving!!!

Rabbit 5 shot a glare at BS-Rita, turned around, but didn't move. When they looked back, the large bone was being held down by BS-Rita.

BS-Rita had an expressive face—shock, disbelief, and utter incredulity—as she asked, "Why are you trying to take my bone?"

Rabbit 5: "..."

After returning, Rabbit 5 would definitely demand compensation from Celestia for emotional damages.
