Chapter 25: Tohka is Hosting
"Ah, another happy day. Are you okay, Peter Parker, uh, forget I said that." Early in the morning, Tohka ran into Peter Parker on her way to school.
This guy still wasn't used to his new strength, and upon hearing Tohka's words, he instinctively squeezed and crushed the drink in his hand, causing soda to spray everywhere.
"Ah, sorry about that." Peter Parker looked at Tohka awkwardly, not knowing what to say.
It felt like a dream, yesterday he was just a nerd, and today he's a muscular guy with incredible strength. No one could adjust this quickly, and he didn't even know who to ask about it.
"Okay, I'm leaving now." After greeting him, Tohka walked away. Just now, she had seen Peter Parker's usual bully approaching.
Tohka smiled and stepped aside to watch the drama unfold.
"Hey, kid..." Just as Tohka had guessed, Flash came up to provoke him again, and then... Peter Parker actually crawled into a wardrobe by himself, leaving Tohka dumbfounded.
'This isn't right, the little spider I know shouldn't be this wimpy.' Watching Peter Parker act this way, Tohka had no idea what to say; this guy was playing by his own rules.
If she remembered correctly, in the movies, this guy had beaten up his rival pretty badly. So why was he acting like this in front of her? Maybe he's already used to it.
'This guy, has he already mastered the art of pretending to be weak to take down the strong? Also, this damn little spider can't be a time traveler, can he? Or has he just been reading too many web novels? By the way, aren't you supposed to pretend to be weak and then eat the tiger?'
In any case, Tohka, surprised, muttered complaints while floating back to her seat in class, not bothering with the little spider trapped in the wardrobe.
"Wow, Tohka, it looks like you're in the newspaper." As soon as she entered, Gwen and Mary Jane ran up to her and placed a newspaper in front of Tohka.
"Uh?" Tohka was stunned for a moment after hearing them, then picked up the newspaper. She found a photo of herself from yesterday. The first one was her flying up with that woman, and the second one... Tohka felt a little embarrassed, as it was a photo of her crashing into the Osborn building, creating a huge hole at the entrance.
"Ah, hahaha, it was an accident, all of it." Tohka awkwardly smiled. She wondered why some people seemed to be looking at her strangely today.
But the good news was that since Tony was taking the heat, she wasn't being relentlessly covered by the media. The reason she made the front page was mainly because of the incident at the Osborn building.
Although there were no high-definition photos of the person who ran out, the general outline was visible. It was someone with wings. Almost all the media was focused on this event. After all, it was still a relatively peaceful time, and mutants were rarely seen, but what happened yesterday had drawn everyone's attention.
"Alright, don't worry. Your iron armor surprised many people, but it was still expected. So, it didn't cause much of a stir, and Stark Industries has said that this is a transport-type armor Tony gave you. It doesn't have any weapons equipped, and it's just for self-defense in case of danger." Seeing Tohka's concern, Mary Jane hurriedly explained.
"Okay." Hearing this, Tohka sighed in relief. She certainly didn't want to be treated like a superhero with endless questions.
"By the way, what are you doing this afternoon? Would you like to hang out together?" Since they understood Tohka a little better now, they were all happy to be friends with her.
"Alright, I'll treat you all this afternoon after school. You can also invite Harry and Peter, since we just visited their company yesterday." After hearing their words, Tohka raised an eyebrow, suddenly recalling something, and said to them excitedly.
"Okay." After hearing Tohka's words, the two nodded in agreement. They were curious as well, wondering where Tohka, as a young lady, would take them.
However...
In the end, all four of them were wide-eyed in surprise, because while Tohka wasn't exactly being stingy, was it really necessary to order this much food for just the five of them? After all, she had reserved an entire hotel. Also, this huge table had over a hundred dishes—was she sure she could finish all of this? What was she thinking?
"Come on, come on, everyone's here. You should know, when I used to stay at Tony's place, I would often order takeout from this restaurant." The reason they came here was that Tohka remembered she hadn't had food from here in a long time. Moreover, Tony had previously made a top-tier membership card in her name, and there was still a lot of money left.
So now Tohka sat at the dining table, warmly greeting everyone to join her. But here's the problem—there were over a hundred dishes on the table! Even if everyone just had one bite of each dish, they'd be full.
"Don't worry, there won't be leftovers." Not noticing the expressions of the others, Tohka had her full attention on the table. Then, she grabbed a dish in front of her, quickly devoured it, and moved on to the next dish, finishing it just as fast.
"Hurry up and eat, or there won't be any left." After finishing a dish, Tohka glanced at the others, who were staring at her in shock. Unfortunately, she was so focused on the food that she didn't notice their expressions.
"Okay." After hearing Tohka's words, especially seeing her looking so happy while eating, the others swallowed their words and instead grabbed plates, filling them with a little bit of each dish, just like a buffet.
However, Tohka's behavior, which was technically quite rude, seemed strangely cute in the eyes of the others. No one felt uncomfortable about it. Watching Tohka, their appetites grew as they filled their plates with food, then found a table and began eating with forks.
At the same time, they couldn't help but glance at Tohka, who kept stuffing food into her mouth without the slightest bulge in her stomach.
Even Harry had to admit, only someone as wealthy and influential as Tony could afford to feed this person.
If it were anyone else, they'd probably be bankrupted by this girl's eating habits.
