Trader In The World Of Pirates!!!

Chapter 362: Chapter 360: The Power of Ghouls

"As expected..."

"No matter where I go, this world is so..."

"Disgusting."

High above Tokyo, Enel rode atop a thundercloud, its form resembling a spiritual beast. Gazing down at the tragedy hidden beneath the city's veneer of false prosperity, his face twisted with disdain.

After concluding his deal with Kaneki, Enel hadn't lingered long in the 20th Ward.

Instead, he chose to explore other areas of Tokyo, intent on evaluating this world.

According to the trading system's analysis, the focal point of this world seemed to be limited to the city of [Tokyo].

In other words...

Only items originating in [Tokyo] were eligible to serve as bargaining chips in dimensional transactions.

After assessing various props, commodities, and weapons unique to this world, Enel reached a conclusion:

The sole item of true value for trading was the special organ within ghouls—the 'kakuhou', the biological core that produces 'kagune'.

"Let's return to the 20th Ward."

"It's been several days now. I wonder how Kaneki has been faring."

After witnessing two CCG investigators ruthlessly kill a ghoul no older than ten, Enel shook his head in disapproval.

Rather than seize this opportunity to trade for the 'kakuhou' the investigators had acquired, he chose to leave this cruel scene in the 11th Ward behind.

Enel had no intention of becoming the catalyst for further massacres.

If the ability to use 'kakuhou' for dimensional transactions and power exchange were to become widespread in this world, it would only deepen the chaos and corruption.

"Roaar~"

The thundercloud beneath him let out a dragon-like roar in response to Enel's command, pivoting and heading back toward the 20th Ward.

Shielded by Enel's electromagnetic barrier, they traveled unnoticed by modern surveillance technology, allowing them to move freely.

However, the more of Tokyo Enel explored, the heavier his thoughts grew—the idea of destroying this world began to take root in his mind.

The last place he'd hated this much was his homeland, Birka.

But now, Birka no longer existed, having been erased from the world.

The fact that he'd endured this twisted world as long as he had was, in his view, a testament to his mental growth as a dimensional merchant.

Even with his newfound maturity and a broader perspective, the distorted relationship between humans and ghouls in this world was intolerable to him.

He couldn't even see the people of this world as potential customers.

---

Seven or eight days had passed since his deal with Kaneki, yet Enel still hadn't found another trader who met his expectations.

Even the CCG investigators, driven by their relentless pursuit of ghouls, failed to impress him.

To Enel, these investigators were blinded by their hatred.

While killing ghouls might protect humans, the investigators often seemed to kill mechanically, losing sight of the reasons behind their actions.

Their methods did little more than fan the flames of hatred, perpetuating the cycle of violence without addressing its root causes.

Of course, none of this was the real reason Enel despised this world.

He was acutely aware of what his superior, Sir Leo, detested most: senseless killing.

Killing not only diminished the population of potential customers for the Chamber of Commerce but also prevented them from becoming future traders.

From the perspective of both the Chamber and the dimensional merchants, such behavior was a grave mistake.

As a dimensional merchant under Sir Leo's guidance, Enel sought to minimize unnecessary bloodshed in the worlds under his influence.

"Tokyo is truly a city teeming with monsters, both human and ghoul alike," Enel mused.

"Still, let's see how Kaneki is progressing."

"I hope this little one can deliver some surprises..."

Despite his disdain for this world, Enel had already taken the first step in his venture here. Giving up halfway was not an option.

After exploring Tokyo, he now had a clearer understanding of this world's power dynamics.

The first group is the ghouls.

They survive by consuming humans, which allows them to gain nutrients, replenish their 'kakuhou', and evolve powerful 'kagune' for combat.

'Kagune' are classified into four types—Ukaku, Koukaku, Rinkaku, and Bikaku—depending on the location of the 'kakuhou'.

Some ghouls, having engaged in cannibalism, develop multiple 'kakuhou' within their bodies, enabling them to wield multiple 'kagune' in battle.

As Enel traveled through the city, he observed that most of the ghouls he encountered had a combat power of less than Level 10.

While their 'kagune' and natural abilities allowed them to unleash strength far beyond that of ordinary humans, their power was situational. Like the fishmen in the pirate world...

They were monstrous when pitted against unarmed civilians.

But when faced with elite humans, the balance of power shifted dramatically.

So far, the most powerful ghoul Enel had encountered was only at Level 30.

Of course...

He was certain that more formidable ghouls lurked in the shadows of this twisted world.

Much like the demons in another dimension—figures like Muzan and the Twelve Kizuki—there were bound to be ghouls whose strength rivaled world-destroying forces.

During the final battle in the Demon Slayer dimension, Muzan's power and vitality had surged to Level 50, nearly reaching Level 60.

If not for his weakness to sunlight, Muzan wouldn't have been defeated so easily by the Demon Slayer Corps.

That battle, where Enel had intervened, was nothing short of apocalyptic.

In the presence of a dimensional trader's overwhelming power, even the mightiest demons were like lambs awaiting slaughter.

Captured demons became resources for the Demon Slayers, who used them to enhance their own abilities and grow stronger.

At one point, it was difficult to discern whether it was demons preying on humans or humans preying on demons!

On the other side of the conflict...

The CCG, the main combat force of humanity, relied on firearms and ammunition powered by modern technology, as well as quinques forged from ghoul 'kakuhou'.

To Enel's disappointment, however...

The firearms and ammunition of this world were unimpressive, offering negligible power compared to other dimensions.

A stockpile of weapons and bullets might barely fetch a handful of points in the dimensional trade system—an exchange so inefficient that no one would ever bother with it.

In contrast, the quinques, with their unique blend of technology and ghoul biology, were far more valuable.

In fact, they could often be exchanged for more points than a 'kakuhou' alone.

Yet, even now, Enel hadn't fully figured out how to facilitate meaningful transactions in this world.

From his perspective, the conflict between humans and ghouls seemed irreconcilable.

After all, ghouls relied on devouring humans to survive. Without genetic modifications for all ghouls, resolving the deep-seated hatred and violence between the two species appeared impossible.

But genetic modifications required the use of ghoul 'kakuhou' in dimensional trades.

It was an endless loop—any attempt at a solution always circled back to hunting and killing.

---

"It's an infuriating cycle..."

Enel sighed as he hovered above Tokyo.

This persistent dilemma was the root of his hesitation and frustration.

"Forget it! No matter, there are so many!"

"Since I can't determine the number of traders from the root, I'll select outstanding individuals for trading."

"Raise the standards for selecting traders. Only when the will and spirit reach a certain level Only with the existence of individuals can we conduct dimensional transactions."

Although this choice goes against the maximization of the profits of dimensional merchants, in order to prevent the world that Sir Leo hates from appearing...

Enel has made up his mind!

"An individual with a strong will and spirit..."

"Speaking of which, although the little girl that day was a ghoul and her willpower was not as strong as Kaneki's, she seemed to have been working hard to integrate into human society." "

Including those from that coffee shop. The store manager and clerks..."

"Perhaps, they will be good trading partners."

After seeing the cruelty and tragedy in other districts, Enel finally returned to District 20…
