Chapter 13: Power of a Smile ?
Sylvia was still marveling at my appearance, her blue eyes filled with wonder. "Sera, seriously, how did you even give birth to such a perfect little thing?"
My mother just laughed, flipping her hair. "Talent, obviously."
Sylvia rolled her eyes but didn't argue. Instead, she leaned in closer, her face now just inches away from mine.
And so, I did what any baby genius would do.
I smiled.
Not just any smile—a perfect, soft, angelic baby smile.
I even tilted my head slightly, as if I were just happy to see her.
Sylvia froze mid-breath. Lilith, who had been observing quietly, blinked—her fingers twitching slightly, as if she had just been struck by something unexpected.
Sylvia covered her heart. "Oh no."
My father chuckled. "What?"
Sylvia turned to him, her expression dead serious. "Zephyrus, I take it back. I'm stealing your son."
"Denied," my father said instantly, crossing his arms.
Sylvia turned back to me. "Adrian, sweetie, listen carefully. You can call me 'Mama' from now, okay?"
My mother smirked. "Over my dead body."
Lilith finally sighed, shaking her head. "He's dangerous."
Alexander raised an eyebrow. "What?"
Lilith's deep crimson eyes flickered toward me. "That smile. It's criminal."
My uncle Asmodeus finally joined the conversation, his deep voice amused as tried hard not to laugh. "Are you saying our nephew is a walking charm spell?"
Lilith nodded seriosuly . "Yes.", and her serious answer made everyone burst into laughter
I kept smiling innocently.
Inside?
("Heh. Just as planned.")
The key to manipulation wasn't brute force—it was subtlety.
System eating popcorn." You know this looks exactly like the K-drama I watched from from your world", God knows from where in the world did he get popcorn.
"Whatever , let's just forget it ", I said to myself before again focusing on the task on hand.
A slight tilt of the head, a perfectly timed gaze, and just enough natural innocence to disarm even the coldest of hearts.
Even Lilith, the woman known for her unshakable composure, had reacted.
Sylvia sighed dramatically, turning to my mother. "Sera, you need to let me borrow him sometimes. I need him to smile at those uptight nobles in the Human Empire—imagine the deals I could close with this face beside me!"
My mother laughed. "Absolutely not , there is absolutely no way , I am letting those greasy old geezers near my baby."
Sylvia pouted but didn't push further. Instead, she turned back to me and gently booped my nose.
"You're going to be a heartthrob when you grow up , little prince."
I giggled softly. Not fake—just enough to keep up the innocent act.
Lilith, who had remained quiet for most of this, finally reached out. Her cool fingers brushed against my forehead and my tiny horns as she carresed them very gently, and for a moment, she studied me with her deep red gaze.
Then, unexpectedly, she nodded in approval and slightly smiled.
"I will also be borrowing him," she stated.
Sylvia snapped her head toward her. "Wait—what? You?"
Lilith simply lifted an eyebrow. "Yes. I find him… acceptable."
That was probably the highest praise she had ever given anyone from what I knew from the novel.
At this point I knew , the game was in the bag
My mother chuckled. "I'm glad you both love him, but Adrian isn't going anywhere. He stays with me."
Sylvia sighed. "Fine. But don't be surprised if I visit way more often or annoy you to visit more often."
Lilith gave a small nod. "Likewise."
As my family continued chatting, I sat there, still smiling, still innocent—while inside, I was grinning happily seeing that my plan was successful, doing the victory dance in my mind with the system as it played the victory song.
("Oh! Poor protagonist while somewhere in the world you are still busy drinking milk , I have already taken away two of your greatest supporter no three if you count Elaris .")
Somewhere in the world , a baby lying in his crib drinking milk sneezed.
