TRIVIA LIVESTEAM STARTING FROM TYPE MOON

Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Whose Fault Is It All?

Leo looked at his system. He already understood its function.

Simply put, it allowed people who joined the system space to answer questions. Correct answers would earn rewards, while wrong answers resulted in penalties. As the system's owner, Leo would receive rewards every time he finished answering a question.

"System, let's begin. Let me see how this works."

The moment Caleb's voice fell, the system's voice echoed within the space.

"The first question-and-answer session officially begins. Please listen to the question."

The people in the system space, who had been chatting, immediately stopped. They were still confused about what was happening and wanted to quickly understand the purpose of this live Q&A session.

Then, a scene appeared in their minds.

A dark cave. Two figures embracing—at first glance, it looked like a simple hug. But as the perspective zoomed in, everyone could see what was really happening.

Two extraordinarily beautiful girls stood there. One wore a red dress with a school skirt and had signature twin ponytails. Seeing her face, James was stunned.

Though her features had changed slightly, he recognized her instantly—this was his daughter, Oliver!

The other girl was different. She had the same exquisite beauty but carried an ominous aura. A cursed mark on her face made her look both seductive and dangerous.

James recognized her, too. This was his youngest daughter, Alex.

James was bewildered. "What is going on? Why do Oliver and Alex look like this? And why has Alex changed so much?"

Before James could process what was happening, Oliver in the scene suddenly spoke.

"I'm so stupid."

The image zoomed in on Oliver's abdomen, where blood trickled down. But the knife in her hand had not been plunged into Alex.

Yet, Oliver did not react. She still held Alex in her arms and murmured, "But I just can't stand people who work hard and receive nothing in return… And I like you so much. I really wanted to see you keep smiling."

Alex's eyes widened in disbelief. She wanted to stop Oliver, but she couldn't.

Oliver pulled away, and her strength failed. She collapsed onto the ground from excessive blood loss. "Sorry, I've been a selfish sister. But you've always kept wearing this ribbon… That made me so happy."

With those final words, Oliver lost all her strength and tumbled down a slope. Blood pooled beneath her…

The scene ended.

Leo immediately understood which moment had been displayed.

"Eye of the World—Heaven's Feel."

This was the final showdown between Oliver and Alex. As the elder sister, Oliver had every advantage and could have killed Alex, but she chose to sacrifice herself instead.

Seeing this, Leo sighed inwardly.

"Forget it. Fried mushrooms for dinner tonight."

At that moment, the system presented the question:

"Video playback complete. Question: Who is responsible for this tragedy?"

Everyone was still processing what they had just seen. Without the system displaying the question, they wouldn't have even realized they needed to answer.

A moment later, a voice erupted in anger.

Arya: "Oliver! Alex! That's Oliver and Alex! James Henry, what the hell did you do?!"

Arya was furious. What had she just witnessed? The two little angels who meant everything to her—fighting to the death!

James: "Arya, I don't know why you are so worked up, but I assure you, I have no idea what happened here."

James was equally shaken. His two daughters—why were they killing each other?

John Milton: "Let's not argue. Look at the question! Who is responsible for this? I want to know, too."

Kenneth: "@Arya, are those two your daughters? Why are you so emotional?"

James: "They are my daughters! Mine!"

Kenneth: "Then you clearly didn't raise them properly! If you had, they wouldn't be fighting! If not for them, we wouldn't even be having this discussion."

Loli Oliver: "I… I don't understand what's happening. Why are Alex and I fighting?"

Loli Oliver's words brought everyone back to the present. That's right. They still had a question to answer. The priority now was figuring out whose fault it was.

Many already had an answer in mind, but since they didn't know the consequences of a wrong answer, no one wanted to take the risk.

For a while, silence filled the space. Then, finally, John Milton had enough.

John Milton: "You bunch of cowards! It's just a question! Are you afraid it'll kill you? This king will be the first warrior to storm the gates today! I'll answer first!"

John Milton truly lived up to his title as the King of Conquest. He didn't even fully understand the backstory but was already eager to answer. What a madman.

Still, everyone was glad someone had stepped forward.

Then…

John Milton: "Looking at their expressions, it's obvious that Alex took the wrong path. So my answer is—this is all Alex's fault."

A moment of silence followed his response.

Then, the system spoke.

"Incorrect answer. Penalty: Lightning strike."

Before John Milton could react, a bolt of lightning descended from the sky and struck him square in the chest.

John Milton: "DAMN IT! THIS KING REFUSES TO ACCEPT THIS!"

The others, witnessing his suffering, collectively decided—"Okay, let's be careful answering."

Kenneth: "Alright, that confirms that Alex isn't entirely to blame. So who is?"

James: "…Could it be… me?"

Arya: "Damn right it's you! You're the one who abandoned Alex! If you had raised her properly, none of this would have happened!"

The system acknowledged the answer.

"Correct. Primary responsibility belongs to James Henry. However, there are additional factors at play."

James felt a chill run down his spine.

Loli Oliver: "What does that mean?"

System: "This tragedy was caused by multiple factors. James Henry made the initial mistake, but Alex also made choices of her own. Additionally, external influences manipulated the situation further."

Kenneth: "So it's not just James, but a mix of factors…"

James: "No… I was the one who sent Alex away. I thought I was securing her future, but instead, I doomed her."

The realization hit him hard.

Leo, watching all this, sighed.

"Eye of the World… always so tragic."
