Chapter 8: Chapter 8: Zampa's Help
Zampa: "Leo! Are you willing to help me? Great! But the old bug is very strong, how can you help me?"
The more Zampa spoke, the more uncertain she felt. As the heir to the Ricky family, one of the three imperial families, Zampa knew the strength of this old bug all too well.
Her father was already a powerful magician, but even he didn't dare claim he could defeat this old bug.
It was said that many weak Heroic Spirits were not even close to being his match.
(Richard: Who are you calling weak? Are you being polite?)
Looking at Zampa's message, Leo naturally had some thoughts in his mind.
"I have two Heroic Spirit Summoning Cards in my hand now. I can take this opportunity to summon a Heroic Spirit first to improve my strength."
Leo thought about it carefully. A Heroic Spirit Summoning Card was important, but at the same time, it wasn't that significant. At least for Leo, who possessed the system, the card itself was rather ordinary—strength mattered more.
What Leo was struggling with now was how to use his summoning card properly.
"I can use it myself, but the Heroic Spirits summoned without a holy relic will only be those most compatible with me. But who would be a good match for me?"
Leo reflected on his usual behavior.
Lazy and greedy... cough, outstanding! None of the famous Heroic Spirits seemed to match him well. At least none from the Eye of the World. If he summoned a flag-bearer from the army of a great emperor, someone who stood above ten thousand others, wouldn't that be enough?
Forget about defeating the old bug—what if he ended up being dragged into something worse?
As a traveler with limited resources for now, playing it safe was the best choice. Wait—he wasn't completely without a holy relic.
Leo glanced at Zampa in front of him. Wasn't she a holy relic herself?
Though it felt impolite to call Zampa a sacred relic, who could be more suitable than her?
In other words, could he summon her?
Leo pondered for a while. Loli Rin was different from himself—she was practically worshiped in the Eye of the World!
A Heroic Spirit connected or compatible with Zampa could be someone like John Milton or even Alex. At the very least, he might get an Andrian. Any of them would be more than enough.
The more Leo thought about it, the brighter his eyes became. A plan was forming in his mind.
"@Zampa, I'm nearby. Wait for me. Don't move."
Brush!
As soon as Leo's message appeared, the entire live broadcast room fell silent.
Kenneth: "This... this... is someone actually willing to help? That old bug is no joke!"
Ryan: "There are really people in this world who would save others? Are there really people so idle? Don't bother saving them if they can't be saved."
Zampa stared at the messages in disbelief.
She had originally asked with no real hope of receiving help.
She never expected that anyone would actually respond.
After all, she didn't know who these people were, but she could guess they had something to do with the Holy Grail War.
And in the Holy Grail War, every participant was a potential enemy. There could only be one winner, after all.
Yet, despite all this, a stranger—this big brother—was really willing to help her?
For the first time, Zampa's small heart was filled with gratitude and reverence.
Zampa: "Big Brother... Thank you."
Leo noticed the way Zampa addressed him had changed.
Leo: "It's nothing. The Holy Grail War has nothing to do with children. Besides, I hate the old bug too."
As soon as Leo's words came out, the entire live broadcast room exploded.
Giles: "Fool! Fool! Do you even know what you're doing? You're helping the daughter of a future enemy!"
Ryan: "Exactly! There's no point in saving people just to kill them later. Watching their blood drain, seeing the hope fade from their eyes—that's true art."
Giles: "Oh? Young man, it seems like you have a strong sense of self-awareness. I must say, you're quite different from the others in this live broadcast room."
The pervert duo could never understand Leo's words.
Leo's statement stomped on everything they believed in, crushed it beneath his feet, and even spat on it for good measure.
Saving people? That was a direct slap to their faces!
Unfortunately for them, in this live broadcast room, they were the only two twisted individuals.
Ashton: "Leo, are you serious? Do you actually want to fight that monster?"
Holder: "It's pointless. The old bug is already deeply rooted in New York City. If you step in, you might just be stepping into your grave."
Leo remained unfazed.
Leo: "I never said I was going in recklessly. I have my own plans."
Robert: "Hmph. Do as you please. Just don't expect me to clean up your mess."
Leo ignored him.
He knew what he was doing.
He wasn't some fool charging in blindly.
He had a system, two Heroic Spirit Summoning Cards, and—most importantly—a plan.
As long as he played his cards right, the old bug wouldn't even know what hit him.
Meanwhile, Zampa anxiously waited for him, her small hands tightly clenched.
She didn't know if this big brother could really help, but for the first time in a long while, she had hope.
And sometimes, hope was enough to keep going.
