TRPG Player Aims For The Strongest Build In Another World ~Mr. Henderson Preach the Gospel~

Chapter 6

There was an infamous pilot of the Virgo constellation, known for their uncanny nature, who once said, “I have little patience.” I wonder if my own lack of patience stems from being born in the fall.

Now, having reached the age of eight—much to my surprise, the Rein Empire’s calendar follows the solar system. This suggests that the scale of this planet is roughly the same as Earth’s—when I examine my own status, my bad habits are glaringly obvious.

It’s not that, you see. Whenever I come across skills that unlock through various actions, I think, “This would be useful, and it’s not too expensive,” and before I know it, I’ve clicked the purchase button.

Don’t you find it too? Even when you think deeply about big expenses, something as trivial as a paperback feels like, “Oh well, it’s fine,” and you end up buying it effortlessly.

And then, when the credit card bill arrives later, you mutter, “Hm?”

Because of this, I’ve tried a bit of everything within a year.

Let’s review the results. All of these are characteristics of [Physical] nature.

[Cat’s Body]: A property that bestows a supple and flexible physique. Reduces the risk of injury, significantly improves falling techniques, and grants bonuses against submission holds and acrobatic feats. Obtains corrections for high-altitude landings.

[Bending Skeleton]: A trait that develops a robust and flexible skeletal structure. Reduces the risk of injury, significantly enhances your falling techniques, and obtains corrections for high-altitude landings.

[Cat’s Eyes]: A property that enhances your vision, making it particularly acute in the dark. This allows you to read and discern even by the light of the stars.

[Steel Stomach]: A trait that bestows a powerful immune system. Provides resistance against spoiled food, drinks, and toxins.

Yes, the body is important. I mean, you wouldn’t want to fall down the stairs and die, would you?

When you think about it, this selection of traits allows for a healthy daily life, wouldn’t you agree? Even if most were acquired impulsively.

I obtained [Cat’s Body] and [Bending Skeleton] to keep up with the increasingly energetic games with Margit and the children. Country children play too vigorously, whether it’s hide-and-seek or wrestling.

[Cat’s Eyes] was taken because my side-job efficiency was low, and [Steel Stomach] because the fig I nibbled on during a forest adventure tasted slightly off and made me uneasy.

Hmm, laying these reasons out sequentially reveals the lack of forethought behind my choices.

However, I haven’t lost basic rationality. I haven’t touched the costly professional skills yet.

And there isn’t a lack of logic behind my selections. A sturdy body is universally useful regardless of one’s future, and in this era without streetlights, night vision is advantageous—apart from, perhaps, accidentally witnessing one’s parents being intimate at night.

Therefore, this path was predetermined. Definitely.

In fact, the development of my fundamental physical strength and memory is proceeding as planned, so it can be said that there’s almost no damage. Successfully allocating traits and status ensures that in the future, Tappa will grow to around 180 cm with a sinewy, well-tuned physique instead of bulging muscles.

And I indulged in the hope of resembling my mother’s delicate beauty, but unfortunately, the characteristic of beauty, like birth traits, seemed untouchable. Even trying to grab at straws with traits like “motherly similarity” or “soothing appearance” proved futile.

All things considered, with the evaluation value of my status being the lowest yet average in Physical Strength, it could be said that the progress has exceeded expectations. Initially, I aimed to reach my temporary goals around the age of ten, but it seems I’ll achieve them by next year.

Upon reviewing, I noticed that after enhancing memory and thought processes, subsequent actions showed a significant difference in proficiency accumulation. Perhaps there was an unnoted annotation indicating that having an understanding mind accelerates skill proficiency—some kind of hidden system or masked data.

Speaking of which, I remember that in a game where one wanders post-nuclear-war America, the higher the Intelligence, the better the stat development. Thus, it seems the system is structured this way.

While reflecting in my usual spot and marveling at the unexpected efficiency, a tingling sensation ran through my neck. A third-party sense acquired from the [Presence Detection] skill indicated that it was not family, given the proximity of footsteps and breathing I hadn’t noticed before.

Most importantly, the presence was located “above the barn.”

Without much thought, I leapt forward. The terrifyingly soft sound of someone landing on the log I had just been sitting on, along with a slight tut.

“Oh, what a pity.”

Looking back, Margit stood there with a genuinely disappointed expression. She had grown slightly taller since last year, but her appearance remained unexpectedly youthful for someone two years older. Yet, the fact that her [Presence Detection] skill, which I had extended to Mastery, effortlessly penetrated mine left me genuinely impressed by her rapid skill development.

“Why don’t you just come over normally?”

“This is what sets the tone.”

Using the courtly language she had recently learned at school, she tilted her lips ever so slightly.

Hmm, it seems she’s fully aware of her own cute actions. She is indeed adorable, so I have no complaints, but I find myself rendered speechless by this expression, which is rather pitiful.

I thought Lolicon wasn’t my thing, but…

She took a step aside and patted my designated seat, urging me to sit. Though she looks like a full child, her every gesture exuded an unexpectedly alluring charm. Why is that?

Following her invitation, I sat down, and to my surprise, she climbed onto my lap face-to-face, maintaining that posture.

This is known as a “face-to-face sitting position.”

But I am still an innocent child—most convincing—so I wouldn’t entertain vulgar thoughts. Pointing this out might invite accusations of harassment, so ignorance is bliss here.

I later learned that Arachnids are fundamentally a female-dominant species, similar to other matriarchal species, with reversed concepts of chastity and gender. Additionally, it’s known that even after mating, they don’t cohabit, maintaining a peculiar custom.

“So, what is it?”

“Hmm? I just thought I’d like to see your face.”

Her answer, accompanied by a seductive smile, held significant implications. With a beaming smile, she tilted her head, an action that would make most men falter—I mean, if I weren’t dealing with a ten-year-old child.

“What’s that about…

“My helping hands have finished their work, leaving me idle. I thought—”

“—I’ll be getting busier soon.”

With the arrival of my birthday in the fall comes the season of the second agricultural rush: harvest time. From reaping to threshing and shipping, there are no breaks. Even after finishing this, there is endless work like fallowing the fields. We have endless tasks to complete before the snowfall. Although it concerns our family’s welfare, I haven’t spared the agricultural categories much thought, allocating decent proficiency to each operation.

Still, with only six family members including one draft horse, and also depending on relatives and neighbors, it’s a truly strenuous effort. Moreover, we must assist those who reciprocate, and in a tax system that combines both monetary and material payment, we must sell our harvest. Labor waves rush in with the carefree summer drawing to a close.

Even with endurance and resistance honed to [Excellence], the thought of this small body bearing the strain of the season gives me stomach pains. Though homes abundant with manpower and horses are considered exceptionally easy in comparison.

“Yes, it’s also the busy season for us.” Laughing softly, Margit continued. Indeed, given her birth in a hunter’s household, the autumn and winter periods would surely keep her busy. She mentioned that she has been given her bow to learn the basics alongside her parents this year.

“We must play as much as possible while we still can.”

“Both of us?”

Upon asking with a dubious tone, she instantly changed her smiling face to teary eyes, demonstrating a surprisingly swift transformation.

“Are you unwilling?”

Then, pressing further, she gently traced my spine like a feather with her voice, whispering. Regardless of age, females are still females, but isn’t this rapid advancement in technique a bit too excessive? Or are all Arachnids like this?

Being a typical male weak towards ladies, here I found myself unable to shake my head.

More importantly, could this be a “flag”? What step or action might have triggered this connection’s addition to my item list? Though I won’t deny it, the involvement between a middle-aged spirit and a one-digit Arachnid seems quite twisted.

What sort of GM with peculiar preferences is rolling the dice here?

I didn’t want to risk the story going awry in a twisted direction, so I decided to actively change the subject to steer the course while maintaining decorum since I’m only eight years old.

“In that case, tell me what you’re studying at school.”

“School?”

When I asked something I had been curious about, her tearful face vanished instantly, and she tilted her head in a completely opposite direction this time. Adorable.

“Yeah, everyone says it’s boring, but I’m curious about what you’re doing.”

At first, I thought I’d learn everything from my older brother, but the complaints he shared soon led me to abandon that hope. While father strictly insists, I have been, to some extent, learning Court Language and writing. However, the history, poetry, and mathematics lessons I share with my brother haven’t developed as they should. By the time the autumn work finishes and winter school resumes, surely all I’ve learned would have vanished from my mind.

“Indeed. Court Language, reading and writing, various laws, and occasional history and poetic courses are our usual subjects.”

Margit speaks fluent Court Language, showing that she is diligently studying. Her parents or teachers likely encourage her to use it daily to prevent the veneer from wearing off. My speech and the lower-class accents spoken by myself and my brother differ significantly from her smooth, lyrical Empire Language.

“How interesting! Hey, teach me!”

“Hmm? Sure, why not?”

Father often emphasizes that fluent Court Language is nearly essential for advancement in this world, and so, too, I wanted to learn. But given his busy schedule and my brother’s lack of mastery, I never had the chance to.

Therefore, this was my opportunity to fulfill the prerequisite conditions.

Some skills have irrefutable locks that cannot be broken by self-study, much like the previous magic. Regardless of the field—martial arts or magic, linguistics, or jurisprudence—there’s an apparent requirement: knowledge doesn’t spontaneously emerge from nothing. The ease of acquiring SAGE skills is likely because the process of finding a mentor and reading books has been simplified. Otherwise, could one learn a language with a mere thousand points?

“Well, let’s see…shall we start with the words?”

“Really? Thank you!!”

Cheerfully using childlike language, I could finally feel a relief that my speech would align closer to my thoughts. Despite thinking in proper Empire Language, my mouth often betrayed me with childish phrases, making me feel uncomfortable.

“Alright, let’s begin. Here.” “Eh…?”

Her unexpected antics confused me. Why was she opening her mouth so broadly and extending her tongue? Worse still, she was guiding my finger towards it.

“Margit…?”

Confusion gripped me until she cheerfully grabbed my hand with a mischievous grin.

“The key to Court Language is proper pronunciation. The shape of the tongue must differ entirely, you see. The teacher instructed us. By inserting one’s finger into a fluent speaker’s mouth and observing their tongue’s shape, then mimicking it by placing your own finger similarly in your mouth, you can learn!”

Of course, the teacher wouldn’t allow us to do that, she chuckled ominously, making her seem oddly intimidating at the moment.

And before I could react, that slippery sensation enveloped my finger…….

【Tips】Learning from someone can earn you experience points. It may also alter certain skills or traits.

As the harsh agricultural season neared its end, Johannes and Hanna found themselves grappling with another trying situation.

Their inability to oversee Heinz’s Court Language lessons due to their busy schedules had caused him to forget everything he had learned earlier that summer.

It was customary in the manor for students attending school for a few years to pay their respects directly to the Deputy during the springtime visits. Traditionally, each child would recite a poetic offering in Court Language during these occasions.

This seasonal welcoming address, celebrated across various regions, is a recognized stepping stone. Nobles are quite enthusiastic in scouting young talents who display remarkable intelligence early on. It’s not uncommon for them to sponsor these prodigies’ schooling well into adulthood.

Here, should fortune smile, a path into bureaucracy through the Deputy’s recognition could emerge. However, Johannes and Hanna didn’t harbor such high hopes. Though they loved their son, they weren’t overly ambitious for him, content with merely ensuring he wouldn’t attract undue attention with the phrase, “Who is that person?”

Nevertheless, their despair was palpable when, after a pause from harvest work, they tested their son. Could this be salvaged over one winter?

On a chilly night, not of winter, but due to their despair, the youngest son appeared before them with his chest puffed out in pride.

He had composed a poem for their relief. Apparently, the youngest had learned Court Language from a friend and had been preparing it to ease the weary spirits of his parents. The parents were both surprised and delighted as they listened to his recital.

The poem was commendable in its simplicity—a well-articulated piece. Though the word choices were childlike, they conveyed earnest sincerity. Even the intonation, fitting for a voice on the brink of changing, was flawless.

It was a perfect poem—flawless in its recitation, its observance of traditional styles, and as a perfectly lyrical creation.

And it was equally flawless “female” Court Language.

After his performance, as he awaited their feedback with a “Well, how was it?” expression, both parents were left speechless for a while.

For the remainder of the winter, the seat beside the eldest son, diligently learning Court Language from his parents, also included a youngest son bewildered but committed to understanding—so the tale is told.

【Tips】 Court Language naturally varies with male and female speech and also includes different styles and grammar for higher and lower aristocrats.

A 10-year-old’s finger… this twisted imagery.

Thank you for your feedback. It’s a great motivator when I receive even a single piece!
