Typemoon: Starting Out as the Lion King's Personal Knight

Chapter 171: Typemoon: Starting Out as the Lion King [170]

"You!"

Seeing that Alaric not only managed to acquire a knockoff Maanna but even used this counterfeit to invade the skies, Ishtar's golden eyes immediately flared with divine brilliance. Her divinity instantly overwhelmed her humanity, and the immense divine aura made Alaric's mouth water.

"Hmph! It seems I need to teach you a lesson so you'll understand what it means to revere a goddess!"

Ishtar raised her hand, clutching a lapis lazuli gemstone.

Unlike yesterday, Ishtar had already gathered plenty of gemstone tributes from various cities. The small consumption required for combat was no longer an issue. The situation where she ran out of stock mid-battle wouldn't happen a second time.

Seeing Ishtar take a stance to attack, Alaric also made his move.

Ripples spread through the air, and a spiraling lance materialized before everyone's eyes.

Down below, Quetzalcoatl clapped her hands. "Heyo, what a flashy holy lance~~"

"Right, right! Kukul, his lance is so cool!" Jaguar Man nodded furiously, exclaiming about how awesome the holy lance looked.

Even though Lance's abilities were sealed, the true nature of the holy lance couldn't escape the eyes of the gods.

As the holy lance landed in his hand, a faint smile crept across Alaric's face.

Ever since he obtained the Heavenly Vessel from Gilgamesh—or even earlier, after his previous battle with Ishtar—Alaric had been pondering strategies for aerial combat.

In the absence of the Holy Grail's unlimited magical energy, casually expending magic to perform anti-air attacks was simply too wasteful.

Thus, Alaric decided that even if he couldn't fly, he had to find a way to develop anti-air capabilities.

This challenge was resolved last night during the Heavenly Vessel test, thanks to Alaric's extraordinary ingenuity.

Ishtar's Maanna, the divine bow, could be loaded and fired. Alarice grasped the two core elements of loading and firing.

Although the original version of the Heavenly Vessel gifted by Gilgamesh could perform similar actions, Alaric could only release raw magical energy from it, unlike Ishtar, who could fire arrows using the concept of Venus.

Additionally, unlike Ishtar, who could use gemstones for long-range attacks, Alaric's Heavenly Vessel was limited to functioning as a pseudo-Noble Phantasm.

But who is Alaric?

The final Round Table Knight. A wanderer from another world. Such a small issue was solved with ease.

Since the loading time for the Heavenly Vessel was too long, preventing rapid, frequent long-range attacks, Alaric opted for a different weapon.

The Holy Lance Rhongomyniad—its authority and Noble Phantasm qualities sealed—was now just an extremely durable, featureless holy lance. However, it allowed Alaric to channel magical energy more efficiently.

And that was enough.

By using the holy lance to load magical energy, and then performing a firing operation, Alaric simplified the Holy Judgment once performed by the Lion King, creating a beginner-friendly version using his magic.

Though it lacked power, it made up for it with high frequency and a long range.

With the holy lance, Alaric could now engage in long-range shooting!

Unaware of these developments, Ishtar launched her first attack as Alaric brought out his lance.

Whoosh!

A dazzling beam of light streaked across the sky, heading straight for Alaric!

Alaric raised the holy lance calmly, a smirk on his face.

"Holy Lance, loading—"

A roar erupted from his dragon heart, and ten units of magical energy—calculated by Da Vinci—poured from his palm into the holy lance.

The energy spiraled through the long shaft of the lance, accelerating and compressing until it reached the spiral tip.

Alaric simplified the process into two key steps: loading, which involved compressing and accelerating magical energy inside the spear's Tower at the End, and firing.

The result was a projectile resembling a magical bullet, closer in form to the Lion King's Light of the Ends. By treating the holy spear as an extension of his magical circuits and launching the bullet with the planet's anchor, the attack naturally carried a hint of mysticism.

The final firing step involved further accelerating the compressed energy, refining it into a spiraling beam before release.

Since this ability wasn't inherent to the holy lance, Alaric couldn't rely on automatic functionality like other Noble Phantasms. He had to manually perform every step to execute an attack.

However, thanks to his skill, Alaric could now compress these steps into an instant.

A dark beam of magical light burst from the tip of the holy lance. Unlike his earlier attack on Jaguar Man, this beginner-friendly Holy Judgment was now equal in size to Ishtar's gemstone projectile!

When the two beams collided, a small explosion of light blossomed in the skies above the jungle.

Boom!

A spiraling shockwave surged through the air, brushing past both Ishtar and Alaric's faces. The sheer impact of this single exchange was staggering.

"Not bad—"

"But what about this?"

Ishtar smirked. Knocking down a single gemstone attack was no big deal; the real show was about to begin.

She flipped her palm over, revealing five multi-colored, polygonal gemstones. As magic poured into them, they began to glow brilliantly.

'A five-shot barrage?'

Seeing Ishtar prepare five gemstones, Alaric immediately understood her next move.

In an instant, five beams of light streaked through the sky, each taking a different trajectory as they hurtled toward Alaric!

Even if he managed to destroy some of them, two or three would surely land.

"You underestimate me, Ishtar!"

Alaric raised the holy lance, which now radiated a dark, primordial glow like an ancient celestial body ascending into the sky above the jungle.

Amazingly, Alaric instantly loaded and fired seven shots of his beginner-friendly Holy Judgment!

Not only had he compressed the steps, but he had also mastered multi-threaded operations!

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The brilliant explosions of light resembled miniature suns blooming across the sky above the jungle.

Among these bursts, two beams of Holy Judgment streaked directly toward Ishtar!

"You've got some skill!"

Effortlessly dodging the attacks, Ishtar smirked.

Today, aside from the knockoff Maanna that infuriated her, Alaric seemed particularly interesting—different from yesterday's dull prey.

"Looks like I'll have to get serious!"

Ishtar sprang into action, a streak of light rushing toward Alaric, her gemstones firing continuously.

This time, far more than before—seven gemstones streaked across the sky like a meteor shower!

Not to be outdone, Alaric activated the Heavenly Vessel, engaging in high-speed aerial maneuvers.

His continuous Holy Judgment countered the incoming gemstones, knocking them out of the sky. Some beams even pierced through, heading straight for Ishtar!

Thus, a high-octane aerial battle between human and goddess began in earnest.
