Chapter 183: Haki Clash
(200 stones bonus)

"Couldn't I just be here to catch up and have a drink with you and Uncle Rayleigh?"
Kaito chuckled as he walked to the bar and casually sat down.
The bar was nearly empty, with no other customers around, making it feel unusually quiet.
"You sure you're not here to cause trouble?"
"Knowing you, I almost thought some big enemy was about to show up!"
Shakky shot him a glance, clearly unimpressed, as she poured herself a drink.
"Haha! Big enemy? That's a stretch!" Kaito laughed, waving his hand dismissively. Then he gestured toward his companions and introduced them to Shakky.
"This is Uzumaki Mito and this is Senju Hashirama, both are respected seniors from our village. They're pretty strong!"
"Though, we've never faced anyone at the Emperor level, so we're not sure how we measure up."
"That's why we came here—to spar with Uncle Rayleigh and these seniors. It'll help us get a better sense of where we stand, which will be useful as we explore the seas."
"Of course, if you're interested, Shakky, we could include you too."
"To show our sincerity, we're willing to pay one ton of gold for this sparring session. What do you think?"
One ton of gold sounded like a lot, but for Kaito, who had gained control of the Golden City, it was just a drop in the ocean.
Still, finding a willing sparring partner at the Emperor level wasn't easy.
They couldn't just waltz up and challenge a Navy Admiral or one of the Pirate Emperors of the New World. That would be picking a fight they might not be ready for, potentially leading to a life-and-death battle.
Before knowing exactly how strong his team was, Kaito wasn't about to take that kind of risk.
"Oh? That's your goal for coming here?"
Shakky looked at them with a bit of surprise. Although she found it odd, she thought it over and decided to agree.
Mainly because Kaito was just too generous.
Sparring for one ton of gold?
It wasn't a fight to the death, and the deal was too good to pass up.
After all, Rayleigh spent most of his days drinking or gambling. Giving him something productive to do—and letting him earn some extra gold—seemed like a win-win.
With that in mind, Shakky nodded and said, "No problem! But I'll pass. I'm not that strong! Let's leave it to Rayleigh."
"I'll go get him now. You all sit tight."
Saying that, Shakky poured drinks for Hashirama and Mito and handed Kaito a glass of milk.
Kaito's face was filled with helplessness as she left the bar and quickly headed toward a casino on Island #3.
"She's quite strong herself!" Hashirama couldn't help commenting. "Feels like she's at least Kage level!"
"Yeah, about that," Kaito nodded. "I already told you—she's the former Empress of Amazon Lily and was likely part of the Rocks Pirates, the crew of the dead Pirate Overlord."
"It's no surprise she's strong."
"She's low-key these days, focusing mainly on intelligence work."
"This place is way bigger than our world, with far more resources. The larger population base naturally means more powerful individuals."
"If we exclude the Ōtsutsuki Clan, we really can't compare our world to this one."
"But in the future, we'll definitely catch up!"
Ninjas had their advantages.
Aside from ninjutsu, the fact that people from the ninja world had three times the number of cells as the average person here gave them exceptional talent in body training.
"Haha! I believe in that. Especially since we have you, Kaito!"
"With you around, it's a sure thing!" Hashirama laughed heartily.
Kaito had the ability to continuously provide advantages to those under contract with him.
They only waited a few minutes before Shakky returned, leading a curious-looking Rayleigh into the bar.
"Hey, Uncle Rayleigh! Long time no see!"
Kaito greeted him with a raised hand and introduced his companions.
Then he got straight to the point.
"Shakky's probably told you why we're here. What do you think? Are you in?"
Rayleigh glanced at Hashirama and the others, his gaze finally resting on Hashirama.
"I can agree to it. Honestly, with you offering so much, even if I said no, Shakky would've forced me to agree!"
"But this guy feels… strange. He doesn't seem alive. Mind telling me what's going on?"
"If it's something secret, you don't have to answer."
Rayleigh could sense an overwhelming danger from Hashirama, but his aura was unusual, almost like he wasn't a living being.
Kaito smiled and nodded, "Since it's a secret, I won't say."
"...Seriously?" Rayleigh gave him a speechless look, muttering internally, "This kid doesn't hold back at all!"
But he quickly realized this was likely tied to something deeply personal for Kaito and his group, so it made sense they wouldn't explain.
"Alright, fair enough," Rayleigh shrugged. "So, who's up first?"
"I'll go first," Uchiha Naori stood up, his voice calm yet confident. "But this place isn't suited for a fight. Let's head to a nearby deserted island. I know a good spot."
"That works," Rayleigh agreed without hesitation and began heading for the door.
Before they could leave, Kaito placed a hand on his shoulder.
"No need to walk. I'll take you there directly. Shakky, do you want to come along?"
As Kaito spoke, he turned his gaze toward Shakky.
"Oh? Is that convenient?" Shakky asked, raising an eyebrow in curiosity.
She was genuinely intrigued by this. It wasn't every day you encountered such an unbelievably powerful stranger. And as someone who thrived on gathering intel, it'd be a shame not to observe Kaito and his methods firsthand.
"There's no trouble at all! Come on over. I'll teleport us there together!"
Kaito smiled faintly and motioned for her to come closer.
Without hesitation, Shakky walked up and grabbed onto Kaito's forearm.
In the next moment, Kaito teleported Rayleigh and Shakky to a remote island in the Calm Belt—a ferocious beast island, to be exact.
Hashirama and the other two followed closely behind, arriving in a flash.
"Huh? This isn't near the Sabaody Archipelago, is it? Feels like the Calm Belt," Rayleigh and Shakky both remarked as soon as they arrived.
"That's correct," Kaito confirmed with a nod. "I thought about it earlier—if we held this near the Sabaody Archipelago, it'd create too much commotion. That would likely attract attention from the Navy or even the World Government."
"It'd cause trouble for you if you're planning to settle near Sabaody in the future," he continued. "So I decided this place was a better choice."
It was also more convenient for them to temporarily keep their strength hidden and avoid exposing too much of their abilities.
"Good thinking," Rayleigh and Shakky agreed, nodding with understanding.
In truth, they were also curious about Kaito's teleportation technique. Even though they had been briefed about it before, seeing it in action was still impressive. However, neither of them brought it up directly.
"Haha! Alright, let's get started!" Rayleigh said with a hearty laugh. "To be honest, I'm curious about your strength. It's been a long time since I've had a proper fight—this'll be a good workout."
With that, Rayleigh strode over to a nearby stretch of beach, drawing the long blade from his waist and looking toward Uchiha Naori.
"Shall we?"
Naori didn't hesitate. She flipped her hand, pulling out her own weapon, Moon Fang—a crescent-shaped greatsword—from her storage space. Taking her position about ten meters away from Rayleigh, she exuded a sharp and intimidating aura.
Rayleigh's eyes lit up. "Oh? I didn't expect your swordsmanship to be this refined already."
"Reaching the pinnacle of sword mastery, huh? Impressive!"
"And that greatsword of yours isn't bad either. Let's see what you've got—come at me!"
The next moment, Rayleigh lunged toward Naori, initiating the battle.
Clang! Clang! Clang!
The sound of blades clashing echoed as the two warriors met in the middle.
In an instant, they disappeared from their original positions, reappearing a few meters away as their blades collided fiercely.
What followed was an intense, rapid exchange of strikes. The air was filled with the sound of their weapons clashing, as both unleashed powerful slashes at each other.
Their speed was astonishing—too fast for the average person to keep up with.
As the battle raged on for several minutes, Naori gradually pushed herself to her limits, fully showcasing her swordsmanship. Yet, she found herself unable to gauge the depths of Rayleigh's abilities.
Realizing this, she didn't hold back any longer. Channeling her immense chakra, she infused it into her body and her sword.
With her swordsmanship and Armament Haki combined, the battle escalated to an entirely new level.
"Even your Armament and Observation Haki have reached this level? Three years ago, you didn't even know these techniques!" Rayleigh marveled, unable to hide his admiration.
"She's a natural-born monster," he thought to himself, while Shakky, watching from the side, silently agreed.
Another few minutes passed.
Feeling that her current approach still couldn't reveal the depths of Rayleigh's strength, Naori unleashed a terrifying burst of Conqueror's Haki, aiming it directly at Rayleigh.
Rayleigh, caught off guard by the sheer intensity—equal to his own—instinctively retaliated with his own Conqueror's Haki.
Crackle!
Black lightning-like energy erupted between the two as their Conqueror's Haki collided. The pressure was immense, sending waves of sand flying and making the air around them feel stifling.
Above them, dark clouds began to gather and split apart as if torn by the force of their clash.
"I didn't expect you to awaken and master Conqueror's Haki to this extent!" Rayleigh exclaimed, shocked as he stared at Naori.
He hadn't anticipated that Naori possessed the qualifications of a king.
Could her son, Uchiha Kaito, have also awakened his Conqueror's Haki?
It seemed highly likely.
"Heh. In the end, Conqueror's Haki is just an extension of willpower—it's nothing extraordinary," Naori said with a faint smile.
"But now, let me show you my next move."
Her Conqueror's Haki, which had been radiating outward, began to retract and coil around her crescent blade.
The weapon now emitted an even more terrifying aura.
"Even coating your blade with Conqueror's Haki? You're full of surprises," Rayleigh remarked, his pupils contracting in shock.
"But fine—let's see how you handle this!"
With a spirited laugh, Rayleigh channeled his own Conqueror's Haki, wrapping it around his blade.
Boom!
The two fighters became like flashes of lightning as they charged at each other once more.
This time, however, their blades didn't physically touch. Instead, an invisible barrier of clashing energy formed between them, creating a powerful shockwave.
Black and red lightning crackled violently in the air around them, while the ground beneath their feet was blasted into a massive crater over a hundred meters wide.
Kaito and the others had already retreated hundreds of meters away, watching the spectacle from a safe distance.
