Versatile Mage: Starting with the White Tiger Pendant

Chapter 78: Chapter 78: Close Care

Inside the Jin Yuan apartment, Lu Mei sat at the bedside, her long, fair legs elegantly crossed. As she scrolled through a post shared on the Pearl University's official website, she chuckled lightly. This brat is just too charming.

She glanced at the boy asleep on the bed. If it weren't for the healing teacher saying that his magic energy depletion and exhaustion were normal, she would be quite worried.

She continued scrolling through the posts, engrossed in them.

Finally, she came across Lu Jun's evaluation, her eyes lighting up as she quickly read it.

"Ten points! Definitely ten! Lu Jun, you are my god!"

"Ten is just the system's limit, not your limit. You are a god among gods."

"Fought for a day and night—what a real man, defeating three thousand freshmen, Lu Jun, the Slaughterer."

"Lu Jun: All of you are trash! Who else is there!"

"Some people have been on Earth for too long and forget their roots. Alien face · jpg!"

"Strongly recommend a blood draw, there isn't a drop of blood in the stimulant."

Besides these simple praise posts, there were also long analyses, praising him from various perspectives.

"The Beast Battle Tournament failure left me with mixed feelings. I participated, but I was defeated easily. One person defeated thousands, the gap was too huge, and occupying most of the resources seemed natural."

"In the extraordinary world, an individual's excellence often matters more than the collective. What moves me is that Lu Jun was still willing to 'show off'. At least he treated us as opponents."

"Actually, he didn't have to do this. It's extremely tiring to kill a thousand pigs alone. The risk is high and failure is likely."

"If you ask us why we don't resent the man who took the resources, it's probably because of this."

Many hot comments below strongly agreed.

"Exactly. Lu Jun's courage, even going head-to-head with the Black Church before enrollment, I think this kind of person should get all the resources. With his hatred for evil and upright character, he'll become a good guardian mage for humanity."

Seeing this, Lu Mei sighed. She knew Lu Jun's true nature—he wasn't bad, just the way he was. This is the importance of character design.

But looking back, Lu Jun's battle in the city, the clearing of the Black Church in Magic City—each of those was a righteous act, even more so than many adjudicators.

As they say, actions speak louder than words. Pretending to be a good person for a lifetime, that's what makes someone good!

Hmm!

While Lu Mei was thinking, a light groan came from the bed. Turning her head, she saw Lu Jun waking up.

His consciousness surfaced from the dark, his whole body sore, his head feeling dizzy. He opened his eyes to see an unfamiliar ceiling—ah, no, it's his own.

He was a bit disoriented. Sensing someone beside him, he turned his head to see a shapely bottom, tightly wrapped in short denim shorts.

Seeing this, Lu Jun paused for a moment, then looked up to see a graceful back, a slender waist, a perfect figure, and three thousand strands of black hair cascading down. The side of Lu Mei's face was stunning. He realized it was his sister, Lu Mei, with her back to him.

Lu Mei turned to him and gently asked, "You're awake? How do you feel?"

Though he couldn't see her full bottom, for convenience, she naturally placed one long, beautiful leg on the bed. From the side, he could see her white thighs, slender calves, and perfect feet.

"Ah..." Lu Jun quickly blushed, his voice soft, "A bit tired, but I'll be fine after resting."

Lu Mei reproached him, "A bit? Don't act tough. You're nearly exhausted. Don't do this next time."

He hurriedly nodded, knowing he had troubled Lu Mei. His clothes were changed, dirt and sweat wiped off, realizing he had caused her trouble.

After a moment of silence between them, Lu Jun smelled the fragrance of shower gel nearby. He felt warmth enveloping him, his thoughts drifting.

What he didn't know was that Lu Mei's face was slightly flushed. While he slept, she had been taking care of him. When he was unconscious, she could be calm, but now that he was awake, she felt a little awkward.

Changing the subject, Lu Mei said, "You must be hungry after sleeping for three days and nights. You can't eat something too stimulating. I made porridge for you."

With this, Lu Jun snapped back to his senses and tried to sit up.

"Hey hey," Lu Mei pressed gently on his shoulder, urging him back to lie down. She whispered, "Just rest. Let me feed you."

Lu Jun had an awkward look. In fact, with his body rejuvenated by two rounds of the Tidal Spirit species' cleansing, he could move freely and had no issues.

But, stealing a glance at Lu Mei, he saw her beautiful eyes looking down, her black hair falling gracefully, her neck pale and delicate. Her warm, caring demeanor made his heart race.

So, Lu Jun shamefully kept his thoughts in check and obediently agreed.

Lu Mei sighed in relief, calmly getting a bowl of hot meat porridge from the counter, ready to feed Lu Jun.

She scooped up a spoonful, blew gently on it to cool it, but soon realized that feeding him while he lay flat was inconvenient and could easily cause him to choke.

Suddenly, an idea struck her. She put down the bowl, stretched out her right leg, and patted her white thigh, saying, "Lie your head on my leg."

Hearing this, Lu Jun's eyes widened. Before he could react, Lu Mei's hands gently lifted his head and placed it on her lap, leaning against her thigh.

Lu Jun felt his head resting in a soft place, nuzzling it slightly.

Slap! Lu Mei lightly smacked his shoulder, whispering, "Ah! Don't move."

Lu Mei realized that her actions were a bit too intimate.

Though her hand was as gentle as a caress, Lu Jun remained still, not wanting to upset her.

Then, Lu Mei carefully fed him bite by bite, occasionally testing the temperature with the tip of her tongue. This was purely subconscious behavior.

Afterwards, her face flushed bright red, but seeing that Lu Jun was unaware, she continued feeding him, indirectly causing... that.

This meal left Lu Mei feeling extremely embarrassed. But as she gently stroked his hair, she recalled the time when Lu Jun was just seven or eight years old, sick, and she had fed him like this, one bite at a time.

She placed the empty bowl on the bedside counter and didn't realize that an entire bowl of porridge had been fed.

And this brat, he actually fell asleep.

Lu Mei's face turned slightly red as she half-hugged Lu Jun, who was curled up on his side, arms wrapped around her, making it difficult for her to move.

The brother and sister maintained this cozy position until the afternoon, with Lu Mei remaining still.

Finally, Lu Jun woke up again, his vitality restored, and his spiritual world shining brightly with four nebulae.

Lu Mei naturally noticed his recovery. Annoyed, she pushed his head away and got up from the bed, nearly stumbling as her legs were sore from being pressed too long by Lu Jun. Even a mage's body couldn't avoid such discomfort.

She had no choice but to lean against the wall and slowly walk out of the room.

Seeing this, Lu Jun was completely puzzled.
