Villain's Valor: A Noble Fantasy Resurrection

Chapter 279 Living Dead

Lirio's figure slipped between the trees, his eyes almost lifeless as he stared fixedly at the group of cultists gathered in a very distressing silence. Without hesitation, Lirio continued forward, delving much deeper into the forest, trying to figure out what they were up to. After a few moments, he found himself just 20 meters away.

The men in green robes were murmuring some unintelligible words, their eyes closed, beneath them a sickly green rune emitted a glow. The runes shone and immediately began to pulsate as they protruded from the earth. The smell of decay became denser than before. The men slowly opened their eyes, a blinding light overwhelming Lirio's vision.

His body began to turn green, then visibly decompose rapidly. But instead of blood or flesh, thin threads detached, and the figure disappeared.

"BOOOMM!" "BOOOMM!" "BOOOMM!"

The ground shook violently as screams emanated from the growing green light.

"ARGHT!" Lirio groaned as he writhed on the ground, his eyes turning red, gripping his hands tightly, digging his nails into his skin as if trying to extract something from within. Suddenly, a small green spot began to appear on his right hand, quickly growing.

Nicholas's green eyes gleamed, and in an instant, he cut off the hand, then retrieved a bright green pearl from his ring and swiftly placed it in Lirio's mouth. The boy clenched his teeth as he endured the pain of his severed hand, adrenaline masking the pain momentarily. Nicholas handed him a drink, and after consuming it, Lirio felt his body warm up, and the bleeding from his severed hand ceased.

"How are you feeling?" Alicia asked as she crouched down, handing him a water bottle. Lirio sighed, "Quick, princess, we need to defend. They've performed an invocation!" Lirio shouted, his eyes turning solemn. The ground still trembled, and horrific explosions came from the other side.

"RISE!"

The sky turned green, and from it, a massive cloth engulfed in green flames fell to the ground, crashing brutally. From it emerged people, or what was left of them, resembling more like the undead. Their flesh was beyond decay, their figures skeletal. Daniela looked on as rocks filled with green flames emerged from the bright light.

The students quickly took defensive positions, terror in their eyes at the grotesque and repulsive figures. Some trembled, never having witnessed such vile magic, literally resurrecting the dead.

"RISE!" "RISE!" "RISE!"

More rocks of varying sizes fell across the battlefield. Lirio also felt uncomfortable seeing all these things piling up, and from behind, the abomination simply stood still. He breathed a sigh of relief; the exposure his thread figure had endured was extremely corrosive. Luckily, he had deactivated his threads just in time; otherwise, he would have died on the spot.

The plan he proposed was to give him time to create a copy of himself with his mana threads and send it to the doll with life in his place. It was quite successful, he thought to himself. But seeing the men in green robes beginning to move, his expression turned grim. He was without a hand, but even though he had another, he could still do something.

"Prepare for battle!" Alicia exclaimed with determination, watching as the undead ran at great speed towards them, and likewise, the abomination began to move. But her eyes never left the group of cultists who were also closing in. She activated her mana senses but couldn't detect the cult leader.

"He's among them," Nicholas said as his eyes gleamed. He knew what Alicia was thinking; his killer intuition had never failed him, telling him that he was among the crazies running towards them. Daniela, on the other hand, decided to help the other students in combat. Her great mana ability was of great help to those on the front line.

"Which one?" Alicia asked curiously, unable to sense it at all. Nicholas's eyes were fixed on a man, no, a boy, with the appearance of a man, and a smile appeared on his face, pointing with his finger, "It's him."

"Help!" cried a student who was surrounded, his heart beating fast with fear. He had seen one of his classmates being eaten alive. He grabbed the axe tightly; he wouldn't fall alone. But a green light passed quickly by his side, cleanly wiping out all the dead surrounding him. He stood stunned for a moment; his eyes couldn't follow his savior.

Nicholas, with his daggers in his hands, ran at full speed through the battlefield with his stealth activated, delving deeper into the front line, helping the students in the same way Daniela did, but his target was different, the abomination, which was causing the most havoc to the poor students who had no chance. Meanwhile, Alicia took care of the cult leader, while Lirio supported from behind.

That's how they divided the work; once he finished off the abomination, he would help Alicia. After all, a Base-Fallen rank being was a formidable opponent.

His figure continued sweeping through the battlefield as heads fell to the ground. His eyes locked onto his target, who was brutally crushing a student. Moving his daggers between his hands, he positioned them vertically, his hair fluttering in the wind. The abomination felt a strong murderous intent and turned its head, which only had a mouth full of teeth.

It roared and ran like a madman towards Nicholas as its limbs moved chaotically, killing anyone in its path.

"BOOMMMM!!!"

Nicholas's daggers filled with his aura, superficially cutting the abomination's skin. He frowned with annoyance, "This will be more complicated than I thought," he thought as he prepared to attack again. Your next journey awaits at My Virtual Library Empire

Alicia, likewise, ventured into the battlefield, leaving behind the command. Her black hair and gray eyes were beautiful in the sunlight. Clad in silver armor matching the color of her house's army, she advanced with her sword in hand. The sword moved according to her will, leaving only a trail of death behind her.

Her eyes were fixed on a figure engaged in combat with another student, masquerading as someone ordinary, "Andre, Cult Leader."
