Chapter 935: Having a Good Rest
Lu Yang felt that this trip to the Laurel Fairy Palace had not been in vain; he had no idea that Disciple of the Immortal Palace were each skilled at swinging axes and practicing Body Refinement, the delicate figures hiding tremendous strength.
He had only sparred with Lan Ting a few times, each time stopping at light contact, unaware that Lan Ting was a cultivator of immense strength, skilled in body techniques.
He had not expected that the rules of the Fairy Palace were so open, indifferent to the matters of romance and love.
It seemed that Chasing Moon True Person was a predecessor with a long-term vision and an open mind.
Admirable.
"Speaking of which, I haven't really learned much about Body Refinement Realm."
Lu Yang recalled his cultivation experience, focusing mainly on swordsmanship and magic skills, with no involvement in Body Refinement.
"Our Immortal Lineage hardly needs Body Refinement Realm," said Fairy Eternity, "Once you have the Initial Form of Immortal Dao Fruit, that will be much tougher than a Body Cultivator's physique."
"And even if you became a Body Cultivator, wouldn't the power of Self-Detonation be no different from that of an ordinary cultivator?"
Fairy Eternity clearly presented the pros and cons to Lu Yang.
"How about it? If you think your body isn't sturdy enough, I can give you an Initial Form of Immortal Dao Fruit right now," Fairy Eternity was eager to test, ready to implant the Initial Form of Immortal Dao Fruit into Lu Yang's body the moment he nodded and said "okay".
"No thanks." Lu Yang refused; his goal was to become an Immortal, to be an existence on par with Eldest Senior Sister and Fairy Eternity. Getting an Initial Form of the Immortal Dao Fruit, what was that all about? That would make him a disgraceful Semi-Immortal like Li Haoran.
Seeing Lu Yang's refusal, Fairy Eternity felt a bit disappointed and muttered softly, "What's the big deal about giving you a Dao Fruit Outline? You're acting like such an outsider."
The Laurel Fairy Palace was vast, so large that Lan Ting and Lu Yang had spent the entire day and only visited a small portion.
"Then, Senior Brother, we'll meet again tomorrow," said Lan Ting, sending Lu Yang back to the door of his guest room courtyard with a sweet smile.
"See you tomorrow."
The night had fallen by then, with the sun above replaced by the moon, the Power of Taiyin far richer than before.
The night was when Disciple of the Immortal Palace held their most important cultivation sessions, and Lan Ting said goodbye to Lu Yang for this reason as well.
"The Power of Taiyin..."
Lu Yang looked at the moon; he didn't need Sun Power or Power of Taiyin for his cultivation, and he wasn't very sensitive to the changes of these two forces.
Just as Lu Yang was considering whether or not to recite "Shuidiao Getou", a petite Disciple of the Immortal Palace approached bashfully, as if a little embarrassed.
"Hello, Elder Brother Lu Yang," greeted the Disciple of the Immortal Palace politely.
"Who might you be?"
"My name is Bai Ye, a disciple of the Fairy Palace."
Bai Ye, somewhat shy, kept her head down and glanced up at Lu Yang, "Elder Brother Lu Yang, could you tell me about your experiences, like your trips to the Demon Territory and East Sea?"
She had never been to such distant places; when she heard storytelling about Lu Yang, she thought he was so formidable, having been everywhere, and experienced so many things. Now that she had finally met him in person, she wanted to listen to his stories at all costs.
"Don't you need to cultivate?" Lu Yang had thought that all Disciple of the Immortal Palace were like Lan Ting, seizing the time to cultivate.
"Missing one day of cultivation isn't a big deal." Bai Ye spoke cheekily, seeming to grow more relaxed around the amiable Lu Yang.
Lu Yang pondered for a moment, deciding that since he had nothing else to do, telling stories wouldn't hurt. He could just skip the parts he couldn't share, such as resurrecting Jiang Lianyi in the Demon Territory.
"Sure." Lu Yang gestured for them to sit down and began to tell his tales slowly.
"Let's see, where should I start? Oh yes, from the second time I went to the Task Hall for a mission; the objective was to eradicate a Tiger Demon..."
Lu Yang had a wealth of experience, and even after omitting secret details, his stories could not be finished in a single night.
Bai Ye listened with great enthusiasm, her eyes shining as she looked at Lu Yang with increasing admiration. It was hard to imagine that these were the experiences of a cultivator, perhaps even more than all of the disciples of Laurel Fairy Palace combined had ever encountered.
"Alright, let's stop here for today. If we keep going, it will be daylight," Lu Yang said with a smile. He had been talking all night, and now dawn was approaching. He couldn't just keep on going endlessly; otherwise, when would it ever end?
"Okay then," Bai Ye said, looking like she still wanted more. She wished to continue listening to the stories, but it was indeed too late to go on.
"Will you tell more stories tomorrow night, Elder Brother Lu Yang?" she asked.
"If you come to listen, I'll tell them," Lu Yang replied with a smile. He quite liked this little disciple from the Immortal Palace.
Overjoyed by his response, Bai Ye waved goodbye to Lu Yang as she walked away, "Then I'll see you tomorrow night, Elder Brother Lu Yang!"
Taking advantage of the fact that the sky had not fully brightened yet, Lu Yang returned to his room and sat on the Gathering Spirit Array, opening his mouth wide to devour spiritual energy for cultivation.
He had gained his cultivation level by seizing every minute and second to cultivate, a process that was incredibly arduous.
Meanwhile, he also returned to his spiritual space to meet with Fairy Eternity, making the most of his time.
"Fairy, come play in the snow!"
Fairy Eternity pouted, clearly displeased that Lu Yang had only now come to play with her, and lobbed a snowman inscribed with "Lu Yang" at him.
"Humph, took you long enough to come."
Before Lu Yang could clearly read the words on the snowman, he saw it flying towards him. He moved swiftly, his form so quick that an afterimage remained in his place.
Yet, he didn't dodge it.
Lu Yang wiped the snow off his face and said with an embarrassed smile, "Well, I'm not quite like you, Fairy. I haven't seen much of the world and, on my first visit to the Immortal Palace, I naturally had to take a good look around."
Hearing Lu Yang compliment her worldliness, the corners of Fairy Eternity's mouth couldn't help but rise: "What's so special about a mere Immortal Palace? Moreover, it's a palace without even a single immortal. Stick with me faithfully, and I guarantee I'll show you the creations of true immortals, far surpassing this place!"
"Indeed, indeed, I trust in Fairy's abilities," Lu Yang said.
"What shall we play?" he asked next.
Truth be told, Lu Yang wasn't just keeping Fairy Eternity company. It had been a long time since he had played in the snow, especially snow this thick, which he had only seen in his previous life, and back then, he hadn't been in the mood to play.
"Let's make snowmen. It's no fun with just one snowman," Fairy Eternity suggested, pointing at the solitary figure.
"Who shall we make?"
"There are only us two in the spiritual space, so of course, we have to make you!" she said, starting to roll snowballs right away.
Lu Yang joined in rolling snowballs.
...
"How was your rest last night, Elder Brother Lu Yang?" Lan Ting asked him early in the morning.
To himself, Lu Yang thought that he hadn't really rested at all last night. After telling stories, he then made snowmen and had a great time, but it had nothing to do with getting rest.
Now, the snowman called "Lu Yang" in his spiritual space was a masterpiece by him and Fairy Eternity
"I rested quite well," he lied.
"That's good," Lan Ting said, relieved. She was worried that some senior sisters or junior sisters had sought out Lu Yang last night, trying to form a closer relationship with him behind her back. It seemed her worries were unfounded.
