Winning the male lead

Chapter 34 - Lord of a thousand years(17)

Someone who can even use their own birth date, Lin Le Tian stood outside the courtyard, hands behind his back, gazing at the crescent moon in the sky. He sighed deeply, sincerely lamenting to the system, “If Lin Le Tian weren’t born with a congenital disability, he would have been granted titles and positions by now.”

The system snorted coldly, “If you didn’t keep messing with the male lead, you’d probably be an elite member of the alliance by now.”

He was momentarily silenced but quickly retorted, “I’m not messing with the them. It’s them who keep messing with me.”

The system coldly responded, “Han Qi won’t be seduced by you.”

Lin Le Tian widened his eyes in protest. “What nonsense! How did I seduce him?”

The system thought for a moment, then decisively said, “Everything!”

The system was no longer to be fooled. Lin Le Tian stopped arguing and continued to gaze at the moon. Today, he had put on his white robe again. The white robe was so beautiful on him, enhancing his ethereal appearance, seemingly untouched by the dust of the world, with his beauty at its peak.

The stars were twinkling brightly in the sky, even more dazzling than the soft moonlight. Lin Le Tian sighed again, “Do you see how the stars are scattered so densely in the sky? Don’t they look like the seeds on a strawberry?”

The system responded dryly, “…I suggest you bite yourself.”

Perhaps it was the system’s influence. Just after it spoke, he suddenly felt the familiar metallic taste of blood rising in his throat. “Not good,” he thought. “I’m going to spit up blood again.” The blood filled his mouth, but he held it back for a moment, and upon tasting it, he realized it didn’t have the strawberry flavor he imagined. He spat out the blood, crying out, “Wuwuwu, it only smells like strawberries, but it doesn’t taste like strawberries at all.”

The system retorted, “Damn idiot.”

Lin Le Tian, leaning against a tree, looked up with a tragic expression and said, “Fate plays tricks on people.”

Han Qi had been standing behind him for a long while, watching as he remained unmoved even as he spat up blood. It wasn’t until he heard him mutter, “Fate plays tricks on people,” that he finally showed some sign of movement. He approached, holding a food box.

He walked right behind him, who only noticed the footsteps when he turned around. His heart brightened, thinking, “This little bastard can’t hold back anymore.”

Without looking at him, Han Qi placed the food box on the stone table and opened it. A faint aroma of food wafted up. Lin Le Tian glanced down and saw two steamed fish.

His expression froze.

Han Qi calmly said, “I heard today is your birthday, so I brought some delicacies to express my feelings.”

Lin Le Tian covered his mouth and turned aside to spit out another mouthful of blood. This time, with Han Qi there, he was more self-conscious and covered his mouth with a handkerchief, wiping his mouth clean before turning back with a pale face. “Thank you.”

Han Qi felt that he should have felt some sense of satisfaction upon seeing this scene, but for some reason, he didn’t feel any lighter. His eyes, sharp as ever, were fixed on Lin Le Tian, as though he could kill him with just a look.

Lin Le Tian sat down calmly under his intense gaze. He stretched his hand out and gestured to him. “Sit.” He then casually picked up the chopsticks from the food box and ate a piece of fish, chewing slowly, the taste of the food barely registering.

Lin Le Tian commented to the system, “This steamed fish has no flavor. The cook didn’t even add any salt. Fried fish would have been so much better—crispy, fragrant, with a little chili powder and cumin… clicks tongue The taste would be amazing.”

The system shot back, “You idiot. He’s making you fish and you’re still not satisfied?”

Lin Le Tian shrugged. “I gave him fish. He raised them and cooked them for me. Isn’t that showing interest in me?”

The system chose to stay silent.

Seeing him eating so calmly, Han Qi suddenly became enraged. He snatched the chopsticks from Lin Le Tian’s hand and threw them on the ground. Lin Le Tian looked up at him and said indifferently, “What’s the meaning of this?”

Han Qi coldly said, “Cold-blooded.”

Lin Le Tian cursed him inwardly. He smiled faintly and replied, “Thank you for the compliment.”

Han Qi’s chest rose and fell, as if struggling to control his anger. In truth, he was always angry, but he had always hidden it well. However, holding it in front of Lin Le Tian, the cause of all his anger, was especially difficult. Unable to restrain himself, he snapped, “Why did you offer the eternal lamp for me?”

Lin Le Tian’s smile faded slightly. He picked up another pair of chopsticks from the food box and slowly picked up another piece of fish, speaking slowly, “The eternal lamp is for the dead.”

Han Qi was so furious he could barely contain himself. He grabbed Lin Le Tian’s right hand and mocked, “So, you kill people, but it’s not as easy for you to live with the consequences. You even beg gods and Buddhas to forgive you. Unfortunately, the killing karma you’ve accumulated can’t be washed away by just one or two lamps! You will face retribution in the future!”

Lin Le Tian’s hand trembled slightly in Han Qi’s grasp, but he raised his eyes coldly. “Are you done? If so, let go of me.”

Han Qi sneered, “What’s wrong? Are you afraid? Do you believe I can break this hand of yours?”

Lin Le Tian answered coldly, “Then go ahead, break it and let go.”

His face displayed a mixture of disgust and restraint, as though holding back some unspeakable emotion. Han Qi had seen this expression before when he was applying medicine to Lin Le Tian… Suddenly, it dawned on him. “You’re afraid of being touched by others.”

Lin Le Tian’s expression froze, a hint of panic flashing in his eyes. He snapped, “Let go of me!” and began struggling.

But his feeble strength could not move Han Qi’s iron-like grip. Seeing his calm face finally showing signs of panic, Han Qi’s eyes burned with fiery anger. He mocked, “you’ve finally given me a way to take hold of you!”

Lin Le Tian: “System, help! Help me! I’m going to be violated!”

The system: “…” Go to hell.

His frail body was suddenly thrown into the soft bed. He was hit hard, stars dancing in his vision. Before he could even cry out in pain, he felt a chill on his shoulder as his long robe was pulled open.

He struggled desperately, gasping for breath. “Han Qi, is this the behavior of a gentleman?!”

Han Qi paused his movements, his eyes bloodshot. He sneered, “A shameless villain, and you dare speak of gentlemanly conduct to me?”

Taking advantage of his momentary pause, Lin Le Tian bent his knees to charge at him, but Han Qi grabbed his foot. Lin Le Tian rolled off the bed without hesitation, and his white robe was torn in Han Qi’s hands.

He landed on the woven rug, letting out a small cry. Before he could catch his breath, Han Qi pulled him back, the robe now completely torn. Lin Le Tian’s disability was fully exposed. In Han Qi’s arms, he collapsed and struggled, screaming, “Let go of me, you beast!”

His screams were agonizing. Han Qi had not intended to do anything, but the ferocity in his chest was awakened by Lin Le Tian’s struggles and cries. He tightened his grip on him, sneering, “you are naturally narrow-minded.”

Han Qi’s words hit Lin Le Tian’s most painful spot. Filled with shame and fury, he knew he could not break free. Suddenly, he gave up struggling and begged, “Let me go. The princes fought and schemed back then, but I did not kill them. You didn’t either. It wasn’t my order, it was the Third Prince…”

“Shut up!” Han Qi’s face froze. He suddenly tightened his grip on Lin Le Tian’s waist, almost burning his palm into his skin. “Twisting the truth and speaking in flowery words, I’ll kill you!”

“Fine, then kill me now!” Lin Le Tian responded without hesitation, looking up with a fierce expression. His eyelashes fluttered, and two tears rolled down his cheeks.

The familiar fragrance enveloped Han Qi’s mind. His arm around his waist tightened. Slowly, he leaned in and whispered, “In your dreams… I want you to wish you were dead.”
