Chapter 113: CH: 113 William's Final Request

{Chapter: 113 William's Final Request}

Shards of bullets fell from William's head, scattering to the ground. William collapsed to the side, clutching his head with his hands. "Ah, I can't take it! It's too painful. I'm going to die here," he groaned dramatically.

"The ghosts might believe your nonsense, but I sure don't. You're not dying here." Jill stood up, turned her back to him, and moved a few steps away, refusing to indulge him further.

"Jill, Jill… before I die, I have something to say to you," William's voice wavered, feigning weakness, his words slow and deliberate.

"Shut up with your crap! You think I'm gullible enough to believe anything you say?" Jill snapped, fighting the urge to look back at him.

"Believe it or not, I have to say it… because this might be my last chance," William continued, his tone trembling with exaggerated desperation, his acting eerily convincing.

Jill finally turned to face him, glaring. "You bastard! Why are you like this?!" But the sight of him sprawled out, looking so pitiful, made her pause. Was he really this fragile? Could he actually be dying?

"William, are you okay? Don't joke about something like this." Jill crouched beside him, concern momentarily overriding her anger.

"Jill… let me finish my last words," William murmured weakly.

Jill shook her head, trying to dispel her growing panic. "Stop it, William! You're practically invincible. A few bullets can't kill you. No, I don't believe it!"

"But the head…" William whispered faintly. "It's the most vulnerable part of my body. One bullet might not hurt much, but so many in a row… it's too much…"

Jill grabbed his arm, her face pale with fear. "No! You're too strong for something like this to happen. I'm sorry… I didn't mean to… I didn't want to hurt you. I'm so sorry." Tears began to pool in her eyes.

William's trembling hand reached out to cover hers. "It's okay, Jill. I don't blame you. Dying by your hand… it's almost a privilege." His lips curled into a faint smile, though he silently added to himself, Though dying beneath you would have been even better.

"William…" Jill's voice cracked, guilt consuming her.

"Don't interrupt. Just listen, okay?"

Jill nodded frantically, her tears now streaming freely. "Say it, William. I'll listen. Say what you need to say."

"Jill…" William's voice grew weaker. "The first time I saw you, you imprinted on my heart. I couldn't stop thinking about how beautiful you were. I wanted to protect you, to make you happy. I… I don't have much time left, but I hope… I hope you'll live a good life, even without me."

"Don't die, William! You can't die now!" Jill shook his arm desperately. "You promised to protect me! You can't just leave halfway. I won't forgive you if you die! Please don't go!" She sobbed uncontrollably, pain tearing at her heart. She hated him so much—so why did it hurt so much to lose him?

"Jill… before I go, I have one final request." A glint of mischief flickered in William's eyes, though Jill was too distraught to notice.

"Anything! Say it, and I'll do it," Jill blurted without hesitation.

William's lips curved into a sly smile. "Really? Then… could you kiss me?" His true intentions were finally revealed.

"Kiss you?!" Jill froze, stunned.

"Yeah… that way, I can die without regrets. No, wait… forget it. I don't want to embarrass you," William said, feigning hesitation, as though giving her an out.

"No, I won't be embarrassed," Jill said firmly, her resolve strengthening. She lowered her head and leaned toward William's lips.

A triumphant gleam lit up William's eyes. "Jill… you really don't have to—"

"I'm not embarrassed," Jill interrupted, pressing her lips to his.

The light in William's eyes burned brightly as he seized the moment. Pretending to be on the brink of death, he kissed her back fiercely, his tongue boldly invading her mouth.

"Ah!" Jill's eyes widened as she tried to push him away. "William—"

"Don't talk," William murmured, his voice low and insistent. "This is just the last flicker of life in me." He wrapped his arms tightly around her waist, deepening the kiss.

Jill's resistance faltered, her strength draining away. How could this be happening? This bastard had tricked her! But as her thoughts became hazy, her anger dissipated. Her arms slid up to wrap around his neck, surrendering to the moment.

Ten minutes later, William finally pulled back, leaving Jill breathless, her lips swollen and her face flushed.

"How was it?" William whispered teasingly in her ear, his breath hot against her skin.

Jill trembled, her blurry gaze sharpening with anger. "You bastard! You lied to me!"

"Shhh, I know you don't mean that." William smirked and held her close. "I didn't die. Isn't that what you wanted?"

Jill's body weakened in his arms. "Do you know how much I blamed myself just now? You tricked me with this! Why didn't you just die for real?!"

"If I hadn't lied, how else would I have learned how you truly felt? Hahaha," William laughed, clearly pleased with himself.

"You shameless bastard!" Jill growled, twisting his waist sharply in retaliation.

"Ouch! That hurts!" William winced dramatically.

"Serves you right!" Jill huffed, though her anger was tinged with embarrassment. She hesitated, her voice softening. "William… about what you said earlier. Was it… true?"

"What did I say before?" William asked, feigning confusion.

Jill took a deep breath, her face burning. "Do you want to die?"

"Just a joke, be calm, the things said are naturally true, I want to protect you and make you happy. I meant every word." William hugged Jill tightly.

Jill lowered her head and said a little bit, "This liar… Here, he lied to me again, his words are always so full of deception, and his mouth was full of lies.' How hot her face was, how could it be so strange, Jill growled in his heart. Despite her doubts, her heart betrayed her, beating faster at his sincerity.
