Chapter 5: You R My Addiction
When Kavya opened her eyes, it was already 4 in the morning. She slowly opened her eyes, first looking at her naked body and then at Manik, who was lying beside her. At that moment, Manik looked nothing less than a beast to her. Her entire body ached due to last night's intense session. The moment she saw him, her eyes welled up with tears. Somehow, controlling herself, Kavya quietly went down to her room. The moment she lay on her bed, she fell into a deep sleep.
In the morning, Kavya's parents had to leave for some work, leaving only Kavya and her cousin sister Anu at home. Anu was busy talking to someone on a call when Manik, with his hangover, came downstairs and said to her, "Please, can you make me a strong coffee? My head is bursting with pain." Without asking any questions, Anu went to the kitchen to prepare the coffee.
By then, Kavya also came out of her room. She was so exhausted that she didn't even notice Manik, who was staring at her with his deep, naughty eyes, smiling. Kavya picked up a glass of water to drink when Anu came out of the kitchen and said, "Kavya di, my friend is waiting for me outside. Please, can you make coffee for him?" As soon as Anu pointed toward Manik, Kavya's attention went to him.
"Good morning, Kavya…!" Manik's morning wish sounded disgusting to her. Slamming the glass down on the table, she muttered, "Nothing can be good about my morning as long as you're here!"
Without saying anything, Kavya went into the kitchen to make coffee for Manik. That's when she felt his hot breath on her neck. He stood behind her, tightly hugging her from the back and placing soft kisses on her neck. Angry, Kavya tried to free herself, saying, "Let me go! What are you doing? Someone will see us!" But Manik didn't care and kept kissing her. After a soft kiss, he whispered in her ear, "There's no one at home right now. It's just the two of us… completely alone. Why are you like this, cutie pie? The closer I get to you, the crazier I become. It feels like you've cast some black magic on me."
Before Manik could do anything else, Kavya pushed him away with all her strength. "Enough!" But just a touch from her was enough to arouse Manik badly. All he could see was Kavya. Ignoring her protests, he started moving toward her again. Just as he took a step forward, Kavya grabbed a knife from nearby.
"Don't come near me!" she warned. Seeing her with the knife, Manik smirked and said in a flirty tone, "I'm even ready to die by your hands, sweetheart. But I know you can't do that. You can't kill me, sweetie."
When Manik stepped closer again, Kavya instantly placed the knife against her own neck. "I can't kill you, but I can kill myself!" Her action left Manik completely terrified, and he immediately stepped back. "No, please! Don't do anything like that!" His entire focus was on the knife pressed against her neck, which could take her life at any moment.
"Kavya, you'll hurt yourself… please, put the knife down."
At that moment, Kavya held the ultimate power over Manik — his weakness was her. Seeing him panic like this for her safety, Kavya was shocked. "This man doesn't care about anything in the world… but why does he care so much about me? What kind of person is he?"
Manik pleaded with her, "Please, Kavya… don't joke like this. You could seriously hurt yourself." Hearing him, Kavya pressed the knife tighter against her neck. "It's better to die once than to die every day!"
Manik kept trying to stop her, but she wouldn't listen. Left with no choice, Manik surrendered completely in front of her. "Okay, okay… tell me what you want. I promise I'll do whatever you say."
Taking advantage of his helplessness, Kavya laid out her condition. "You have to leave this place… and after that, you will never show up in front of me again!"
"What…? Leave? I'm not going anywhere!" Hearing his refusal, Kavya pressed the knife even tighter against her neck, creating a small cut that started bleeding. Seeing her blood terrified Manik. He had no idea how to stop her, leaving him with no other option but to agree. "Okay, okay! I'll go back to Mumbai tomorrow… I promise!"
The moment Manik promised, Kavya's grip on the knife loosened. Taking advantage of the moment, Manik quickly snatched the knife from her hand and threw it away. Immediately, he hugged her tightly, breathing a sigh of relief. "You almost gave me a heart attack, sweetheart!"
He carefully sat her down on the sofa, but seeing the bleeding on her neck made Manik panic even more. He started frantically looking for a first-aid kit but couldn't find one. He turned to Kavya and asked, "Sweetie, please tell me where the first-aid kit is. Your neck is bleeding."
Seeing his concern made Kavya even angrier. Through her tears, she shouted, "Stop pretending you care! Just leave me alone!"
Even though Kavya screamed at him, all Manik could see was the cut on her neck. Desperate, he pleaded, "Kavya, say whatever you want to me, hit me if you want — but please don't hurt yourself. Just tell me where the kit is. I already promised you, I'll leave tomorrow." After his continuous requests, Kavya finally told him where the kit was.
The moment Manik found the kit, he carefully dressed her wound and asked her to rest. As he was leaving her room, Kavya's voice stopped him again. "Don't forget your promise… leave tomorrow or I swear I'll kill myself for real this time!"
This incident made one thing very clear to Kavya — she had found Manik's weak point. Now, she knew exactly how to control him. Meanwhile, Manik returned to his room, pacing back and forth, lost in thought. "I made a promise… but I can't do it. I can't stay away from her. Just the thought of leaving her terrifies me. If I actually leave, I'll probably die…"
Manik's mind was filled with only one thought — he had to take Kavya away with him somehow. "Should I kidnap her sister? No, that's a stupid idea. Should I do something to her fiancé? No, that'll only make her worry about him more. Should I tell her parents everything? Maybe… but they'll never agree since she already hates me and she's engaged."
For two hours, Manik paced the room, thinking. Finally, he made a call. "I need your help."
The person on the other end agreed, and the call ended. Immediately after, Manik sent them a picture of Vicky along with some instructions.
By evening, Manik hadn't stepped out of his room even once. He was restless, constantly pacing the hall and checking his phone every minute. Twenty minutes later, he received a message from a girl: "It's done. The parcel will arrive soon."
Seeing the message, a wickedly satisfied smile spread across Manik's face. "Awesome…"
Kavya's parents had returned home, and by now, Kavya was a bit relieved, thinking Manik would finally be out of her life. She sat with her family, having tea, when the doorbell rang. Kavya's mother opened the door to find a courier boy standing there.
"Who is Miss Kavya? There's a parcel for her," he said. Her mother called out to her. Kavya took the parcel to her room. She examined the envelope from all sides — there was no sender's name, no address, nothing.
"What kind of joke is this? The sender hasn't written their name or address… what could possibly be inside?"
Curious, Kavya opened the envelope and looked inside. Her eyes widened in shock.
"What… what is this…?"
