Part 1

Takahiro looked around, taking in all of the trees surrounding him. 

A forest... Where the hell am I?

The HUD opened up Infront of him, displaying where exactly he was.

[Dungeon: Goblin Forest.]

Goblin Forest?

Footsteps were heard a short distance away.

Takahiro rushed behind a tree and peeked out to see what was moving.

2 small goblins walked along the grass, dragging the carcass of a pig.

Those are goblins...

He opened his inventory, the HUD appearing at his side.

[Inventory: 3/5.]

[Worn Sword.]

[Torch.]

[Loaf of Bread.]

That's all I get? I need to find somewhere safe within here for now.

Takahiro attempted to run away, but he tripped on a stick and immediately alerted the 2 goblins.

"Shit!"

Each goblin turned towards him.

There was a sadistic smile on their face.

Tongues sticking out, the goblins rushed Takahiro, knives in hands.

They leaped up and swiped at Takahiro, forcing him back.

He reached into inventory, the HUD following him.

Sparks of electricity appear as Takahiro pulls out his worn sword.

The goblins surround him.

I have to fight two of them?

Takahiro begins clashing blades with the goblins while they take turns attacking him.

He manages to block each strike, but one manages to cut his face.

They have me on pure defense! I need to land a counter strike!

The goblins continue to be relentless.

Each of Takahiro's blocks only add more fuel their desire to kill him.

My hands are shaking - This is never gonna work.

Wait, I got it! I need to think of them as something I hate!

When one of the goblins leaps up at him, Takahiro finally attempts to slice it.

Midair, the goblin avoids, sliding against the grass.

Both look at each other in confusion, before rushing Takahiro again.

The combined force of their attacks leave him on edge.

Two against one. Are you serious right now?

It's always been two against one!

I've always been beaten up by two, not one!

This isn't fair...

This world isn't fair!

Takahiro manages to send both of their knives flying into the air.

With a scream, he impales one of the goblins and slams it into the branch of a nearby tree.

Its partner picks up its knife and tries to stab Takahiro from behind.

"You can't do anything without the other one!"

He rips his sword out and cuts through the other goblin's torso.

Its body falls to the ground.

[Level up.]

[Level up.]

[Gold obtained: 100.]

[Category unlocked: Skills.]

"Huh?"

Panting, Takahiro turns towards the HUD, which was displaying the stats section for him.

I got 8 stat points from leveling up, along with a full recovery and loot box.

And what's this... I unlocked Skills?

The HUD opens up the description for each stat category.

[Power: Increases physical abilities such as strength, agility and durability.]

[Senses: Increases the 5 senses, as well as enemy and mana detection.]

[Mana: Increases magic power over time, allowing for higher usage of skills and magic techniques.]

[Health: Increases stamina, HP, recovery time and lifespan.]

Right now, I need to be strong enough to fight these annoying goblins.

Takahiro puts all 8 points into strength.

Let's look at this new category...

[Skills: 1/3.]

[Skill: Critical Hit (Costs 1 mana).]

Critical hit. I'll try it out after.

To the right of him, Takahiro can hear snickering.

A goblin attacks as soon as Takahiro notices it.

He begins dodging each attack from the goblin.

I'm dodging everything with ease. I don't even need to block...

Putting my stat points into strength was definitely worth it.

In one swift motion, Takahiro decapitates the creature.

[Gold obtained: 14.]

Wait, I forgot... I got some loot boxes from leveling up.

He holds his hand out, summoning the small gift boxes in his palms.

They both shimmer while opening themselves.

A small loaf of bread and a band aid rested in Takahiro's hands.

Another loaf of bread, and...

Actually, I could use something to eat.

He peels off some of the bread, shoving it into his mouth.

So warm...

The HUD opens beside him.

Takahiro puts the remaining loaf of bread into his inventory with the other one.

He takes one look at the band aid and throws it away, before looking up.

I wonder if the sun ever goes down here.

Part 2

[Level up.]

[Level up.]

Takahiro makes his way through the forest, murdering any goblins he sees.

He paces back and forth, looking at the floating HUD.

Maybe I shouldn't only invest in Power.

I'm also getting tired between each fight, and it'd be useful to be able to detect the goblins.

I'll split my points.

Takahiro puts four points into Senses and four into Health.

[Level: 5.]

[HP: 100/100.]

[Stat Points: 8.]

[Stats displayed: Power (9) Senses (5) Mana (1) Health (5).]

[Skills: Critical Hit.]

[Title: N/A.]

He closes the HUD and continues walking.

There was no trail for him to follow. There were no signs either.

It was just a gigantic forest with seemingly no end.

Takahiro makes a stop, quickly backpedaling himself to avoid an incoming arrow.

He looks up, seeing a hooded goblin atop a branch.

It prepares to fire another arrow.

There's archers, too? Guess it gets harder the more I walk through the forest.

The next arrow is easily cut down.

My reaction time and cutting power have increased. Not only that, but I was able to sense the first arrow before it hit.

Looks like I'm using my points well.

The goblin's smile fades.

It jumps down from the tree, dropping its bow and pulling out a small knife.

The archer tries to stab him, but Takahiro sidesteps and decapitates the thing with his sword.

"Did you guys think I wouldn't notice you?"

He smirks and turns his head.

Two goblins and two goblin archers stood.

The archers fire their arrows first.

Takahiro grips the handle of his sword, cutting each down.

One of the knife-wielding goblins leaps up at him.

The arrows were bait?

Takahiro impales the goblin on his blade, its body sliding onto the grass.

The other goblin disappeared-

It appears behind Takahiro, forcing him to block.

Another arrow shoots out.

This time, he barely manages to duck, blocking another strike from the goblin.

They're actually working as a team!

Jumping back, Takahiro avoids another arrow.

If that's the case, the archers need to go first.

Bloodthirsty screams emerge from the combating goblin as it yet again launches itself at Takahiro.

He kicks it away, running at one of the archers.

It's unable to load an arrow in time and is cut in half.

Two left.

The final archer hides behind its remaining partner.

That's how it's gonna be?

Takahiro and the goblin rush at each other.

Instead of directly attacking, he jumps over the goblin and takes down the final archer.

The last goblin tries to run away.

Chasing after it, Takahiro slashes at the goblin and kills it.

[Gold obtained: 239.]

Takahiro accesses the shop category of the HUD.

[Gold: 433.]

[Diamonds: 0.]

[Item Shop.]

[Weapon Shop.]

He opens the weapon shop, only to see 2 items for sale.

[Clean Sword: 600 Gold.]

[Clean Dagger: 500 Gold.]

Sword and dagger, huh? I must unlock more things to buy the further I progress.

Raising his blade, Takahiro inspects the damage done so far.

It's been chipped a few times.

I like using a sword, but it's big and a bit clunky. Maybe I'll save up for the dagger.

He switches to his inventory.

[Inventory: 4/15.]

[Torch.]

[Loaf of Bread.]

[Loot Box: 2.]

Forgot about the loot boxes I've been getting from the level ups.

[Loot Box (2): Open or Sell (75 gold).]

I can sell stuff?

75 gold would get me enough to buy that dagger.

"Sell."

The loot boxes disappear from his inventory.

[Gold obtained: 75.]

Takahiro opens the shop, purchasing the Clean Dagger.

[Clean Dagger added to inventory.]

The HUD switches to the inventory section, and Takahiro's worn sword disappears in his hand.

He pulls out his new weapon, inspecting it.

Obviously much smaller...

Takahiro puts the dagger away, sensing a goblin close by.

I can sense a goblin's mana.

He scurries through the forest, hiding a behind a tree to spy on the goblin.

It looks around for any intruders, before entering into some bushes.

Where the hell is it going?

What Takahiro finds shocks him.

It's a whole camp of goblins, with tents and fires set up.

There were around five goblins scouting the outside of the camp.

Before I go in guns blazing, I'll have to kill the guards.

Part 3

Takahiro slowly creeps up on one of the goblin scouts.

Right when it notices him, he stabs it in the throat with his dagger.

All dead.

The goblins inside the camp stop whatever activity their doing, looking up at the intruder.

"I'm going to kill all of you."

Takahiro points his dagger at all of them.

Laughter erupts among the creatures.

They slowly get up, drawing blades.

Takahiro taunts the goblins.

"Come at me!"

He gets into a fighting stance and dashes.

Two goblins are torn apart by his fast slashes.

They're so weak to me, now!

Takahiro continues on with his killing spree.

The goblins are defenseless against him.

Finishing the final goblin, Takahiro looks around the camp.

That's it?

He approaches the main tent.

Someone steps out - A goblin the size of a human, wearing a leather cloak and gear shaped necklace.

The HUD appears.

[Goblin Assistant, Grimlock.]

[Defeat the enemy: 0/1.]

"You dare enter into goblin territory..."

Grimlock pulls his hood down, exposing his face.

"Are you the boss?"

"Foolish human."

The orc raises its hand, releasing a light mist into the air.

[Grimlock Activates Skill: Resurrection.]

Takahiro takes notice that the clearly dead goblins begin to rise up off of the ground.

Just great...

The resurrected beings took on a much more zombified appearance.

They weren't being resurrected as themselves, but as puppets for Grimlock to utilize.

"Kill the interloper."

All over again, Takahiro starts to slaughter the goblins one by one.

Despite this, they keep on getting resurrected over and over.

I can't fight them forever. I need to go after Grimlock.

Grimlock stands idly, keeping his spell active.

Takahiro throws his sword into the goblin assistant.

He gets hit in the ribs, screaming in pain.

I've never thrown anything that perfect before...

Due to the hit, Grimlock's spell deactivates, causing the reanimated goblins to fall to the ground.

Takahiro rips his dagger out of Grimlock.

Let's see how strong this skill is!

[Activate Skill: Critical Hit.]

He carves through the goblin with ease.

[Defeat the enemy: 1/1.]

When turning to walk away, something huge walks out of the main tent.

Oh, you've gotta be kidding me...

[Boss: Goblin King.]

[Defeat the enemy: 0/1.]

What stood before Takahiro was a goblin bigger than any one he's seen up to this point. It wasn't just massive in size, but it was also very fat.

The only pieces of clothing it wore was a loincloth around its waist and a crown made of branches.

The thing that worried Takahiro the most though was the stone club it held.

The beast roared at him, rushing forwards with surprising speed.

All Takahiro could do was jump out of the way as it slammed its club down.

He tried not to lose his balance.

The Goblin King turned, wildly swinging its club.

Takahiro jumped up and over the massive weapon.

It rammed into the tree branch, knocking the entire thing over.

Perfect, it's back is exposed!

Using all of his strength, Takahiro stabs the Goblin King in its back over and over, but it does nothing.

I'm fucked.

The club hits his stomach, sending him tumbling away.

He looks up, seeing the HUD.

[HP: 64/150.]

[Stamina: 70/150.]

That... That took out most of my HP and stamina! If I'm hit by another, I'll be dead.

Takahiro reacts quickly, flipping backwards to avoid the next club strike.

I'll lead it away.

He runs off.

The Goblin King unleashes another roar, chasing Takahiro.

"HUD!"

The HUD instantaneously appears, following Takahiro. He reaches in, switching out the dagger for his Worn Sword.

When the Goblin King slams its club down again, Takahiro is ready this time.

Gaining enough momentum, he jumps off the ground at the perfect time and runs up the downed club.

He cuts into the creature's shoulder.

A fatal strike...

Just what I-

This beast was stronger than he thought.

It's club collides with Takahiro's face, while his sword falls out of the Goblin King.

He skids back, barely maintaining his balance.

[HP: 13/150.]

[Stamina: 9/150.]

I cut into it... How was that not enough?

[Full Recovery automatically activates when low enough if not used yet.]

[Full Recovery.]

Part 4

Golden trails cover Takahiro, recovering his HP, Stamina and Mana.

Roaring at him, the Goblin King swings its club again.

Takahiro steps out of the way and reels his arm back...

[Activate Skill: Critical Hit.]

His punch blows a hole through the Goblin King's torso.

The boss falls onto its back, blood splattering onto Takahiro's face.

[Boss: Goblin King - Defeated.]

[Defeat the enemy: 1/1.]

[Level up.]

[Level up.]

[Level up.]

[Gold obtained: 5000.]

[Category unlocked: Armor.]

[Armor obtained: Goblin King's Crown.]

[Weapon obtained: Cedarveil.]

[Dungeon Completed: Goblin Forest.]

[Daily Quest Completed: Complete 1 dungeon.]

[Stat Points Gained (Daily Quest): 4.]

Takahiro sits, looking at his bundle of rewards.

"I DID IT!"

He looks down, seeing the blood dripping from his face and the excessive amount of goblin corpses.

I did it?

I...

I killed all of these?

I killed everything in this dungeon?

"I'm a murderer."
