A Nameless Tale

Chapter 1: The Blessing

In lands where shadows long have lain,

And sun doth weep through ashen veil,

The earth doth groan beneath its chain,

And winds do whisper sorrow's tale.

The Darkness, ancient, cruel, and fell,

Hath spread its blight o'er hill and dell,

Its tendrils choking life and light,

And turning day to endless night.

---------------------------

In barren wastes where rivers black

Do crawl like serpents through the mire,

A knight, unnamed, doth not turn back,

Though all around doth feed the pyre.

His armor, scarred by battles past,

Doth bear the weight of shadows vast,

Yet in his hand, a cross he clings,

And to his God, his prayer sings:

---------------------------

"O Lord of Light, whose hand doth weave

The stars above, the earth below,

Thy servant's heart doth not deceive,

Nor falter 'neath the weight of woe.

Grant strength to face this dread abyss,

Grant courage when the shadows hiss,

Grant faith to know, though night be long,

Thy light shall rise, Thy right be strong."

---------------------------

The wind, it carried forth his plea,

Through desolate and silent air,

And lo, a light, both pure and free,

Did pierce the gloom with tender care.

It grew, it swelled, it bathed the knight,

A radiance both soft and bright,

And from its heart, a voice did sound,

A voice that shook the very ground:

---------------------------

"Arise, arise, my faithful son,

For thou art chosen, thou art blessed.

Thy journey now is but begun,

Thy faith shall stand where others rest.

The Darkness, vast and full of spite,

Shall tremble 'fore thy holy light.

Take up thy sword, let blade be true,

For I, The Lord, do call on you."

---------------------------

The knight arose, his heart aflame,

His sword now hummed with power divine.

The runes upon its edge did claim

A strength no mortal hand could mine.

"Who art Thou, voice of light and grace,

That speaketh in this sacred place?"

The knight did ask, his voice a prayer,

As light did dance upon the air.

---------------------------

"I am The Lord, who shaped the skies,

Who lit the stars and bade them burn.

I see thy heart, thy soul, thine eyes,

And know thy faith shall never turn.

Go forth, my knight, to Darkness' core,

Where evil's pillar doth implore.

Strike down the blight, let light prevail,

And let thy faith o'er shadow sail."

---------------------------

The light did fade, yet left its mark,

A fire in the knight's steadfast breast.

He gazed toward lands grim and dark,

Where shadows writhe and never rest.

The Dark Pillar, a spire of dread,

Did pierce the heavens, black and red.

Yet in its shadow, hope did gleam,

For light would rise, or so did seem.

---------------------------

With sword in hand and heart of steel,

The Nameless Knight did take his stride.

Through wastes where nightmares oft conceal,

He marched with God as steadfast guide.

"Though night be long and terrors near,

I shall not yield, I shall not fear.

For I am but a humble blade,

Yet forged by He who all things made."

---------------------------

The dawn did break, though faint and frail,

A golden thread through ashen skies.

It kissed the earth, a whispered tale,

Of hope that in the darkness lies.

The knight did pause, his gaze held high,

And saw the light, though weak, did try.

"A sign," he said, "that though we fall,

The light shall rise and conquer all."

---------------------------

And so he walked, through shadowed lands,

Through fields where once did flowers bloom.

With every step, with steady hands,

He carried light to pierce the gloom.

The journey long, the trials grim,

Yet still his faith did burn within.

For in his heart, he knew the truth:

The light would rise, and sooth the ruth.

---------------------------

O Nameless Knight, thy path is set,

Through darkness deep and shadows wide.

Thy faith, thy sword, thy soul beset,

Shall be the light, the world's true guide.

Go forth, go forth, and do not yield,

Till light doth pierce the shadowed field.

For in thy heart, The One doth dwell,

And through thy hand, shall darkness fell.
