A Nameless Tale

Chapter 2: Twisted Void

Through wastes where silence reigned supreme,

And shadows danced with whispered breath,

The Nameless Knight did chase his dream,

And walked the path that led to death.

The air grew thick, the earth did quake,

As if the world did fear to wake.

And then, before his steadfast gaze,

A creature rose from shadowed haze.

---------------------------

No form it held, no shape, no frame,

Its essence twisted, void, and strange.

It writhed, it pulsed, it burned like flame,

Yet cold as death, its touch did range.

Its presence wrought a maddening song,

That tore the mind and right from wrong.

The grass did wither, stones did crack,

And light did flee from its attack.

---------------------------

Yet still the knight did stand his ground,

His faith a shield, his will a sword.

Though madness whispered all around,

He held his gaze upon his Lord.

"Thou art but shadow, void, and night,

But I am forged in holy light.

Thy power falters, weak and thin,

For He who made me dwells within."

---------------------------

The creature hissed, a sound unkind,

A shriek that split the very air.

It lunged, its form a blur, a bind,

Its touch a poison, foul and rare.

Yet still the knight did not retreat,

His blade did glow with holy heat.

He charged, his cry a thunderous roar,

And met the beast on shadow's shore.

---------------------------

The clash was fierce, the battle dire,

The creature's strikes did twist and bend.

Its blows did rend the mind's own fire,

And sought the knight's resolve to end.

Yet blessed by He who shaped the skies,

The knight did see through twisted lies.

His sword did cut where mortals failed,

Through realms where reason paled and quailed.

---------------------------

The blade did sing, a hymn of light,

And pierced the creature's shadowed core.

It screamed, it writhed, it sought to fight,

Yet light did burn it evermore.

The runes upon the sword did blaze,

And purged the darkness with their gaze.

The creature's form did twist, did fray,

And vanished as the night to day.

---------------------------

The air grew still, the earth did sigh,

As if the world did breathe anew.

The knight stood firm beneath the sky,

His blade now dim, its work was through.

The ground where once the beast did tread,

Now bore no mark, no sign of dread.

The light had cleansed, the dark was gone,

And hope did rise with breaking dawn.

---------------------------

The Nameless Knight did sheathe his sword,

And gazed upon the purged terrain.

Though battles fierce did lie toward,

He knew his faith would break the chain.

"O Lord of Light, Thy hand doth guide,

Through shadows deep and tempests wide.

Thy strength doth flow within my veins,

And through Thy will, the darkness wanes."

---------------------------

He turned his gaze to distant spire,

Where Darkness' heart did beat and brood.

Though trials lay, and foes conspire,

He marched with newfound fortitude.

For he had seen the light prevail,

And knew no shadow could assail.

The path was long, the night was deep,

Yet still he walked, and faith did keep.
