Chapter 7: Chapter 7 - Vs Kedu Okonjo
Corruptor slowly walked out of the house, the commotion drew the attention of the Jabari Tribe and they immediately gathered only to find a man clad in black armor with a gorilla face while a white patched eye black armor human-sized monster appeared with his five black tentacles at his back, his menacing teeth showing, ready to bite off someone.
Seeing this, the tribesmen instantly knew who he was, Corruptor the man that the Tribe Chief warned. This man is someone who had contact with one of their tribesmen, and now, seeing him in one piece, felt their reality shattered, questioning if aliens do exist.
Instantly, the guards raised their weapons, pointing at Corruptor while the others scrambled to pick their weapons from their houses. As a warrior tribe, each house had at least one weapon on them.
Even children are playing with real knives at a young age.
Now, they gathered together to confront one man.
An alien from outer space.
Soon after, M'Babwe walked out from the encirclement and he stood next to Kedu Okonjo who had already donned his armor.
Looking at Corruptor with curiosity and cautiousness.
M'Babwe opened his mouth.
" Corruptor, right? Have you come for Kedu Okonjo? Our tribesmen finest craftsmen and warriors? " Asking the obvious, Corruptor looked at him, deadpan.
" Obviously, what am I here for? To stroll? Give me Kedu Okonjo and I'll spare your tribe or else... You will know what will happen. As a tribe chief, you should know when to surrender. " Corruptor scoffed, smiling in disdain.
Thinking of the silverback gorilla and his son who he entrusted with. Comparing the tribe of Jabari and the tribe of apes is so far away when it comes to handling their people.
Hearing his demand, the people of Jabari protested. Telling the tribe chief to not yield and fight like a warrior.
Seeing his tribesmen like this, felt his lifespan shortened as he sighed in defeat.
Looking at Kedu Okonjo clad in gorilla mask and armor with a claw mark necklace around his neck.
" Silence! Me and the Tribe Chief have already come to terms. I alone will fight against Corruptor and if I am defeated, then death is the price, to ensure the peace and stability of our Tribe.
My tribesmen, make sure you are not rash in your actions for this is my fight. Don't interfere"
With a final say, all of them shut their mouth as Kedu Okonjo pulled a baton before it transformed into a spear.
Corruptor looked at him in amusement, with all of his experiences of fighting against the gorillas for the past few days, honed his combat capabilities a little.
Coupled with his talent entries and some memories of the hosts he occupied previously, is sufficient enough to fight.
Of course, Corruptor takes this fight seriously and will rely on fighting with techniques instead of over-relying on his strength.
As they are in a standoff, Corruptor picks a spear as it is more convenient and easy to use for beginners.
After what seemed like an hour, Corruptor finally decided to go for a first move.
Wherein Kedu Okonjo immediately notices several flaws of Corruptor, taking advantage of this. He parried Corruptor's spear before striking the defenseless Corruptor.
But, Corruptor can't be underestimated at all, with his enhanced vision, he dodged the attack clumsily. Making him stagger a few feet away.
Kedu Okonjo immediately pressed on, putting pressure on Corruptor who goes into defensive mode. Trying to keep up with Kedu Okonjo's pace of attack.
Intending to finish it fast, Kedu Okonjo opted for an aggressive approach where Corruptor doesn't have time to breathe.
Sensing his intention, Corruptor gritted his teeth and with a burst of speed, he leaped out of Kedu Okonjo's range.
He saw Okonjo breathing slightly, seemingly out of breath from those attacks.
Now, Corruptor finally knows where he stands in combat. While his strength overpowers Kedu Okonjo, he is suppressed by his combat techniques.
It's like a child and a master of martial arts fought, even if holding back is enough to overpower a child with no prior knowledge of martial arts.
That is what happens when fighting against Kedu Okonjo.
Corruptor sighs in frustration.
It seems that it will not be enough to fight him one-on-one by relying only on his experience of fighting gorillas.
Here he thought that he stood a chance of fighting against him through combat techniques.
" If I was given enough time to bond with you, I would have already known most of your martial arts," Corruptor said, looking at Kedu Okonjo who stood in silence.
Only he knew what was on his mind.
Kedu Okonjo didn't hesitate any longer before he took a big stride toward Corruptor who immediately put up his defense. Thankfully, with his talent entries, it is enough to contend with Kedu Okonjo, or else he would be forced to retreat.
While they might not be able to harm him, he would also not be able to harm them. Tiring them out would be the outcome but he is a whole different story.
This might be his end if all of them fight together against him.
As Corruptor defended each strike, the people of Jabari watched in anticipation. Seeing their mighty crafter winning in combat made them cheer.
" Defeat him, Kedu Okonjo!" A voice shouted, which was followed by cheers and anticipation of defeating the alien.
Only the Chief stayed silent, knowing full well that if the fight dragged on, Kedu Okonjo would tire out and even those with experienced warriors also knew this, clenching their teeth in defeat.
Knowing full well of a sacred duel where no one can interfere with the fight of two warriors.
As the fight goes on, more and more people notice the fatigue building up on Kedu Okonjo while Corruptor is slowly getting the hang of fighting.
It is not like Corruptor learned the martial arts of Kedu Okonjo, it is just that he is slowly adapting to the pace, meaning he can stand toe to toe against Kedu Okonjo's strike without losing.
Thus, as fatigue builds up on Kedu Okonjo, Corruptor is getting more and more excited as time goes on.
Before the two knew it, they had already been fighting for an hour now.
Through the Vibranium Armor, Kedu Okonjo can last quite a long while and is coupled with his physique as a Jabari Warrior.
He could last long enough to fight nonstop for hours.
Sadly, the one he fought with is Corruptor, a being who could get 5% of the one he bonded with, coupled with his enhanced durability and endurance makes him a formidable foe at lasting longer.
" It seems you are at your limit, Kedu Okonjo. Now, I will end up with this show" Corruptor said, he is not combat-oriented and he hates fighting with martial arts.
If he had to pick, he wanted to be able to use magic and fight with it.
As a final showdown, Corruptor decided to use all his strength for this one as his arm bulked up like a hairless gorilla's arm.
With a single swing of his spear, he finally broke Kedu Okonjo's defense as he took advantage of his enhanced speed and thrust forward.
Straight to his heart, Kedu Okonjo looked at his chest, even with a vibranium armor, a dent had appeared. The impact causes the inside to deform and rupture from the powerful strike.
Kedu Okonjo goes to his knees, making the people gasp, looking at their mighty warrior and craftsman, kneeling in defeat.
While they only saw the mask of a gorilla, they knew inside of that mask was Kedu Okonjo, spitting blood as his heart took heavy damage.
Corruptor walked toward Kedu Okonjo, before opening the mask, only to see the weak state of Kedu Okonjo, his lips paled, signifying a loss of blood.
While blood dripping from his mouth, his eyes heavy, looking up to see the massive blur of the shadow of Corruptor. Kedu smiled weakly, sighing in defeat.
As he tried to reach out for Corruptor, he took his final breath. Corruptor was at a loss, looking at Kedu, finally dead.
He felt empty and lost. He doesn't like this feeling, and so he walks away while carrying the body of Kedu Okonjo, the man he fought.
Standing at the cliff where the waterfall cascades down. Corruptor slowly put Kedu Okonjo's body gently.
Then, using his hand. It enlarges as he scoops a huge amount of dirt. Then, making a handmade casket, he put Kedu's body inside.
Throughout the process, the tribesmen followed him, seeing the whole process of him creating a casket, carrying Kedu, and then watching him kneeling next to Kedu's body, praying before putting his body into the casket and burying him.
As for the armor, Corruptor takes it as a spoil of war. This is also for him to pay respect to Kedu Okonjo.
While it might be a brief moment, Corruptor had a strong bond with Kedu Okonjo.
Like, they are made for each other. Sadly, one way or another, this is where it ends.
Looking at the beautiful scenery in front of him, Corruptor took a seat to appreciate the beauty in silence.
