Adventures of Leo in Tensura.

Chapter 3: 3 Learning about a new world after peaceful interrogation.

Hinata glanced at Leo, watching his chest rise and fall steadily.

"I'm going to sleep. If something happens or you need anything, wake me up," Leo said as if they were at a picnic rather than stranded in an unknown, possibly dangerous world.

She simply nodded. It wasn't like she had much of a choice.

Even though she felt stronger than before—likely due to whatever that cold, robotic voice had done to her—she wasn't foolish enough to think she was special. That much became clear when she saw those beasts earlier. The moment of realization came when Leo obliterated them effortlessly.

She glanced at the weapons Leo had conjured from thin air and left at her disposal. Guns. Swords. Daggers. It was almost absurd.

If I were in his position, would I have been so trusting?

No. She wouldn't have. Not because she would harm him, she couldn't, but because that level of trust was reckless.

She reached out and picked a dagger, testing its weight before slipping it under her sleeve. Guns were tempting, but she had no idea how to handle one properly.

Then her stomach growled.

Her cheeks warmed, and she instinctively cast a glance at Leo, hoping he hadn't heard.

He slept like a log. Good.

Still, the hunger gnawed at her. 'Would be nice if he could summon food too,' she thought absently before shaking her head.

She decided to look around for something to eat, careful not to stray too far.

The clearing was calm, the air crisp with the scent of damp earth and wildflowers. Her eyes landed on a brightly colored plant, its vibrant hues almost unnaturally beautiful.

Something inside her screamed 'Don't touch it.'

She took a step back; no food was there; with a sigh, she made her way toward the stream.

The water was crystal clear, and she knelt to take a drink, cupping the cool liquid in her hands.

Then—

A shiver ran down her spine.

A presence. No. Two.

Before she could fully process the feeling, she rolled to the side—just as a pair of hands lunged for where her head had been.

[Extra Skill: Danger Sense Acquired.]

She barely registered the cold voice in her head, her eyes darted toward the source.

Two men stood there, their ragged clothes and cruel expressions setting off every warning in her mind.

"The man must be exhausted after fighting those hounds," one of them muttered. "B should have finished him off by now."

Hinata kept her face calm, but inside, her mind raced; she didn't panic, knowing that Leo wouldn't be taken down THAT easily.

The second man sneered, his eyes raking over her with sickening interest. "She looks like an otherworlder."

The first one nodded. "Yeah. She'll fetch a high price in the market."

Hinata's grip on the dagger tightened, and her heart pounded; she wasn't a soldier. She wasn't a fighter. But she refused to be weak, and she sure as hell wasn't going down without a fight.

The two men leered at her, already convinced of their victory. Arrogant. Overconfident. They thought she was helpless and they were wrong.

The first bandit took a step closer, a twisted grin on his face.

Hinata moved faster than they expected, her dagger flashed in cold light as she lunged, slashing across his throat in a single motion, his eyes widened in shock as blood sprayed into the air, covering her in red, his hands went to his neck to stop the blood, Hinata ignored him and went towards the other bandit.

The second bandit barely had time to react before she twisted, pivoting on her foot.

'Analyze. Predict. Execute.' A voice in her mind said.

She didn't think—she knew, she dodged his desperate swing by a hair's breadth and drove the dagger into his heart, twisting it for good measure.

"Aaargh," he screamed in pain as his body went stiff and his eyes met hers—disbelief, fear, regret.

Then he collapsed.

Silence.

Hinata panted, her hands trembling, her heart hammering.

The moment she registered the cold voice, her body lurched. Pain shot through her side—she hadn't avoided the second bandit's counterattack entirely as she thought. A shallow cut, but deep enough to sting.

She pressed a hand to her wound, her breath uneven.

Then—

"Wow."

She turned sharply. Leo.

He stood a few feet away, arms crossed, golden eyes glowing faintly in the dim light.

She hadn't even heard him approach, even with her new senses.

"Didn't think you had it in you," he said, walking toward her. "But you are hurt."

She scowled. "I'm fine."

Leo ignored her and placed a hand on her injury.

A warm, tingling sensation spread through her skin. The pain vanished instantly.

She blinked.

Leo grinned. "There. Good as new."

She glanced down at her now-unmarred skin, then back at him. "...How?"

He just smirked. "Magic."

Hinata huffed, rolling her eyes, but her fingers brushed over the spot where the wound had been, it all happened in an instant.

And something told her this was only the beginning.

(A few moments later)

"Alright, spill it," I said, leaning over the barely conscious bandit, B, who was tied up against a thick tree trunk. My arms were crossed.

B groaned, blood dripping from his busted lip. His right arm was bent awkwardly, courtesy of my earlier persuasion methods.

"You monsters," he spat weakly. "You ain't normal…"

I chuckled. "Took you long enough to figure that out."

I hadn't sensed them earlier because I had been distracted, checking my abilities, understanding my own damn existence. I didn't think I would get ambushed this soon; the hyenas were also part of their plan to test our abilities.

That wouldn't happen again.

"Now," I crouched in front of him, voice calm but firm. "Where the hell are we?"

The bandit hesitated, eyes flicking toward Hinata, who sat nearby, cleaning her dagger. Her expression was cold and unreadable; the blood over her face only added to her charm, but I knew she was listening.

I snapped my fingers in front of his face. "Focus. You talk, and maybe I'll let you go with all your limbs intact."

He swallowed.

"...You are in the Great Jura Forest."

I frowned. "Never heard of it."

"The Jura Forest is one of the largest magic-rich zones in the world, near the Dwargon borders."

"Continue,"

He continued, "This land is mostly untamed. Monsters rule here—Goblins, Lizardmen, Orcs… even Ogre,"

He continued, "And the biggest threat? The damn Storm Dragon."

I raised an eyebrow. Dragon?

"The what now?"

B stared at me like I was insane. "You have never heard of Veldora? The walking calamity?"

…Nope.

But a dragon that has a title? That meant legendary-tier power.

B kept talking, probably hoping to buy time for some miracle. "No kingdom dares claim Jura because of that damn beast. The Eastern Empire tried once—sent an army. They never came back."

I nodded slowly. Interesting.

So I was in an untamed, resource-rich forest, swarming with monsters, with a god-tier dragon lurking somewhere.

Great.

I rubbed my chin. "What about the nearest kingdom?"

"That would be the Dwarven Kingdom, Dwargon," B muttered. "Ruled by some old monster of a king. Best blacksmiths and artisans in the world."

My thoughts shifted. Dwarves meant weapons, trade, and possibly magic knowledge. A good place to start.

"Anything else?"

He hesitated again, eyes darting to Hinata, then back to me.

"...Otherworlders," he finally said.

That caught my interest.

"They say people like you and her show up sometimes," he muttered. "Folks who don't belong to this world… but end up here anyway."

I exchanged a glance with Hinata. So we weren't alone.

"Most don't last long," B added. "The strong ones get recruited by kingdoms or lords. The weak ones… well."

He didn't need to say it.

I sighed. "Great. So, I'm in a monster-filled jungle, there's a dragon somewhere, dwarves are nearby, and people like us get pulled into this world for reasons unknown."

I glanced at Hinata. "Did you hear that? We are isekai protagonists now."

She gave me an unimpressed look. "I have no idea what that means."

I smirked but turned back to the bandit. "Well, thanks for the info, pal."

B stiffened. "You'll… let me go, right?"

I smiled.

Then lightning crackled in my palm.

"Nah."

(Hinata)

I took a cautious bite of the fruit Leo had casually summoned out of thin air, fully expecting it to be bland or overly sweet like something artificial.

Instead—

"What the hell?"

Leo raised an eyebrow. "That bad?"

I blinked, staring at the half-eaten fruit in my hands. "No… It's... amazing."

Juicy, perfectly balanced between sweet and tangy, with a texture that melted in my mouth. Better than anything I had ever tasted back home.

Leo smirked, taking a bite of his own. "Yeah, I'm kind of a big deal."

I rolled my eyes but kept eating.

The sun had started setting, casting long shadows through the trees. The distant sounds of wildlife and the gentle rustling of leaves filled the silence between us. For the first time since I got here, I allowed myself to breathe.

I needed to sort through everything.

Closing my eyes and focused on the strange, cold voice I had heard earlier.

The skills.

That moment—the way my body had moved on its own against those bandits. The way my dagger had found their vitals was like I had been trained for years when I definitely hadn't.

I shuddered. That wasn't normal.

Taking a deep breath, I thought about the changes.

[Unique Skill: Usurper]

A skill that allowed her to take skills from beings stronger than her.

She felt it was perfect for her, like the manifestation of her wishes, considering she always lost her 'something' to those stronger than her or to the world; now, with this skill, she would be able to prevent that from happening.

[Unique Skill: Mathematician]

Instantly calculates probabilities, angles, movement predictions, and logical solutions in combat and daily life.

And it improves reaction time and decision-making and can simulate outcomes based on current variables.

I exhaled slowly.

As I opened my eyes, not even a second had passed. I was pretty sure it was work of my skill.

No wonder I had fought so efficiently—I wasn't just reacting; I was anticipating. My mind had worked faster than I could comprehend.

This wasn't just a new world.

This was a new me and my new life. Maybe god will forgive me for my sins.

I glanced at Leo, who was leaning back against a tree, looking way too relaxed for someone who had appeared in another world.

I had questions.

A lot of them.

But for now… I needed to understand myself first.

I picked up my fruit and took another bite.

One step at a time.
