Chapter 43
Chapter 43: My Sister is Conquerable:
Although Qin Luo habitually argued with his sister, he didn’t actually dislike her.
In fact, after their relationship changed, he just hadn’t found the right way to get along with Jiang Zhitao, which made their interactions a bit awkward.
It was rare for his sister to drive him to school, so Qin Luo didn’t refuse. He happily followed behind her, just like in the old days when he was her little sidekick.
Back then, he used to follow her around, asking for candy with a runny nose. Now, as a grown-up sidekick, he couldn’t help but sneak peeks at his sister’s backside.
Jiang Zhitao seemed to be heading to her company today. She wore a brown thin knit top tucked into a sky-blue pencil skirt, which hugged her round hips and swayed captivatingly as she walked.
The mischievous brother couldn’t help but call out the system.

[Target: Jiang Zhitao]
[Role: Celebrity]
[Conquerable]
Jiang Zhitao’s role didn’t surprise Qin Luo. Given her parents’ nurturing and her accomplishments in her field, she certainly deserved the title of celebrity.’ But the last three words—’conquerable’—sparked a wild idea in Qin Luo’s mind.
He recalled he had an option to ‘write a perfect novel once.’ Suddenly, he wanted to write a book titled ‘My Conquerable Sister.’
Qin Luo stared at his sister all the way to the underground parking lot before reluctantly tearing his gaze away and getting into her car.
…
“Mom, I’m heading out.”
“Wait a minute, Ji Yan.”
Zhang Ru came out of the house and spoke earnestly, “Do you remember what I told you before? Keep your distance from that boy, and it would be best to cut off contact altogether.”
“Even if he genuinely likes you and you have some feelings for him, I want you to know that you’re too young to date. As your mother, I’m responsible for your safety and future.”
“If you really want to date, I won’t stop you, but please wait until after graduation. Do you understand?”
She said a lot, her face serious, fearing her daughter might not take her words seriously. Ji Yan knew her mother had her best interests at heart, so she obediently nodded and said, “Okay, Mom, I understand.”
“Good girl, I knew you’d listen.”
Zhang Ru smiled, gently patting Ji Yan’s hair. She then noticed the bag Ji Yan was carrying, one she rarely used and didn’t find appealing.
“Why are you carrying that bag? Didn’t I buy you many beautiful ones? Change to a nicer one.”
“Oh, it’s not that. This…”
Ji Yan hesitated and unzipped the bag, revealing a small sculpture of a girl inside.
Seeing her mother’s frown, Ji Yan quickly said, “I’m planning to throw it away.”
Zhang Ru’s frown immediately relaxed, and she smiled, “Good girl. Be careful on your way.”
“Got it, Mom. I’m leaving.” Ji Yan nodded and turned to leave.
After Ji Yan left, Zhang Ru stood by the door for a while, feeling like a part of her heart had been hollowed out. She quickly walked to the living room window and looked down at the trash bins below.
Before long, Ji Yan emerged from the building, holding the small sculpture. She walked step by step to the trash bin. She seemed hesitant, which made Zhang Ru grit her teeth, wanting to shout at her to hurry up and throw it away.
Fortunately, Zhang Ru’s wish was fulfilled.
She watched Ji Yan toss the small sculpture into the trash bin. The discarded sculpture felt like a weight lifted from her heart.
Zhang Ru let out a long sigh of relief, feeling happy. She hummed a cheerful tune as she went to the bathroom.
Feeling great, she planned to go shopping and buy some new clothes for her daughter as the weather was getting hotter.
However, she didn’t know that shortly after she left the window, Ji Yan returned to the trash bin. She looked at the sculpture lying among the dirty trash, now somewhat dirty itself.
“Be careful not to lose it…”
Qin Luo’s words from last night echoed in Ji Yan’s mind. She felt a sudden panic, looking around as if afraid Qin Luo might see this scene.
After a few seconds, she bit her lip and retrieved the sculpture, gently wiping off the dirt before putting it back in her bag. After doing this, she seemed relieved and walked out of the neighborhood with a spring in her step.
Not long after, Zhang Ru left the house. She wore a beautiful white dress, similar to what Ji Yan had worn on her date with Qin Luo, with elegant makeup that made her look like an older version of Ji Yan. She hummed a cheerful tune, but as she passed the trash bin, she instinctively glanced inside.
The cheerful tune stopped in her throat, her lovely face twisting slightly. She bit her lip, seemingly upset, her breathing quickening. Finally, she turned and silently returned to the building.
