After the 99th Confession, The Cold School Beauty’s Personality Collapsed

Chapter 42

Chapter 42: I’m Quite Free Lately:

Qin Luo was stunned for a moment. Then he realized and angrily said, “Are you joking? Do I need plastic surgery?”

Jiang Zhitao nodded seriously and said, “Do you want to take a paternity test with our parents? I suddenly suspect you might not be their biological child either.”

True, although his dad was quite charming in his youth, he wasn’t as good-looking as him by a long shot.

Qin Luo agreed in his heart but complained out loud, “You talk as if you weren’t there when I was born.”

Jiang Zhitao said, “I wasn’t there.”

Qin Luo was surprised. “Didn’t you say you took me to bathe with the nurse?”

Jiang Zhitao replied, “I lied to you.”

“You’ve been lying to me for twenty years?!”

“I just lied to you now.”

“You…”

Qin Luo took a deep breath, the cold air making his teeth ache and his head buzz. He glared at Jiang Zhitao and gritted his teeth. “If you weren’t my sister, I’d show you what’s what.”

Jiang Zhitao glanced at him sideways. “I’m indeed not your sister. What are you going to do?”

Qin Luo opened his mouth as if to say something but eventually didn’t. He pouted and silently returned to his bedroom.

Jiang Zhitao watched his retreating figure until the door closed behind him. She then picked up the apple Qin Luo had bitten into from the coffee table.

Crunch.

She took a bite from the other side of the apple, creating two bites on the same apple, facing each other but never touching.

……

Monday morning.

Qin Luo went out for an early morning run, wearing a fitness tracker on his left wrist.

Thanks to his improved physical condition, he had grown accustomed to and enjoyed working out.

His once amazing physique had become even more balanced, with faint lines appearing on his abdomen. At this rate, he wasn’t far from becoming a man with an eight-pack.

After his run, Qin Luo bought two servings of tofu pudding, four fried dough sticks, and two baskets of steamed buns.

Naturally, both servings of tofu pudding were savory, as both he and Jiang Zhitao preferred.

In Qin Luo’s view, sweet tofu pudding was as wrong as dipping dumplings in soy sauce, wasabi-flavored chips, or sweet rice dumplings. To him, these were all heresies.

Historically, good and evil never coexist. Today, this conflict had evolved into the ongoing battle between sweet and savory camps. Although there was no clear winner yet, Qin Luo believed the sweet camp would eventually be defeated.

Savory tofu pudding was justice!

Back home, Qin Luo placed the breakfast on the table and went to shower.

When he came out, Jiang Zhitao was already eating. She glanced at Qin Luo, her eyes lingering on his upper body.

Qin Luo, shirtless and toweling his wet hair, had a few strands of water dripping from his hair onto his face, sliding down his chin and along the faint lines of his chest and abdomen.

People, regardless of gender, were more attractive after a shower.

“When did your body get so fit?” Jiang Zhitao asked.

“You’re making quite a fuss, there’s a lot you don’t know.” Qin Luo rolled his eyes. Her lingering gaze and question made him feel a sense of pride.

Jiang Zhitao ignored his comment and continued eating.

Qin Luo sat across from her, quickly devouring a fried dough stick. Then he alternated between steamed buns, fried dough sticks, and tofu pudding, enjoying his meal.

Since he started working out, his appetite had grown.

Three-quarters of the breakfast was for him.

Jiang Zhitao, with her small appetite and need to maintain her figure, didn’t eat much.

Qin Luo once thought she would become a refined lady with her rich parents’ influence, eating delicately like Jia Ting at the clinic’s entrance. But their few meals together proved him wrong.

Jiang Zhitao ate as she always had, with a masculine gusto, a fried dough stick in one hand and a bun in the other, taking bites from both. Since both hands were occupied, she drank her tofu pudding directly from the bowl.

Growing up, the siblings often fought over food, especially meat. Now they didn’t have to compete, but they still ate freely.

Qin Luo glanced at Jiang Zhitao, harboring a doubt.

This weekend, Jiang Zhitao stayed home for two days, which was rare.

As a big star, her schedule should be packed, always rushing between events. It was unusual for her to stay home all weekend.

Qin Luo wanted to ask if something was wrong but feared she’d retort with “none of your business” or “you wouldn’t understand,” since he knew nothing about the entertainment industry. So, he decided not to ask.

Unexpectedly, Jiang Zhitao spoke up after finishing her meal. “I’ve been quite free lately… So, I’ll be home more often.”

It sounded like she was talking to herself but also trying to tell Qin Luo something.

Qin Luo gave her a subtle look and hesitated. “Are you telling me to stay away more or to come home more often?”

Jiang Zhitao replied coolly, “If you’re capable, stay at school for the rest of your life.”

So, did that mean he should come home more often?

Qin Luo wasn’t sure if he had guessed right, but he couldn’t help but smile.

After breakfast, Qin Luo was ready to leave when he noticed Jiang Zhitao was also ready to go. Then he heard his sister say something surprising: “Let’s go, I’ll give you a ride.”

Qin Luo stared at her. “Did the sun rise in the west today?”

“Stop talking nonsense.” Jiang Zhitao said, not looking at him as she grabbed her things and headed out.
