Chapter 32: Neohuman Alliance
Two weeks after, a distant sound caused the grand floor of the Combat Academy's hostel to tremble. The force of impact jostled Mu Shen up and he got out from bed.
It was very early in the morning and the sudden disturbance calls for immediate attention.
Mu Shen grabbed his robes from a hanger and put it on, he wrapped the belts properly to prevent it from losing knowing well that he is wearing nothing underneath it.
He moved with a speed startling for a Sentinel to possess. For normal Sentinels, it was impossible to travel through the void because it was difficult for them to manipulate it with such a low domain relm. But Mu Shen is an exception.
The massive hostel was like a dome that was planted in-between the star. The entrance into the dome was pinned to the ground that it was impossible to leave unless it was raised. So, Mu Shen arrived at the wall end which was mirrored — a glass dome. He could see what was going on outside.
Mu Shen saw the massive size of a powerful hexagonal spaceship, its descent alone caused everything around it to tremble and shake. There was something so strange about the spaceship. It was different and frightening due to images of corpses drawn on the vessel.
Mu Shen saw two figures, cloaked in black come out of the spaceship. They looked so unfearing as if they did not care at all if they get caught.
Mu Shen was curious about these two men and then suddenly someone spoke behind him.
"Those men are from the Neohuman Alliance."
Mu Shen immediately turned to stare at the male behind him.
Two boys stood behind Mu Shen and they discussed not minding that Mu Shen's stare was getting rather intense.
"Neohuman Alliance? My dad told me that those people create corpse kings. Those corpses are annoying, they attack humans so humans consider them as enemies."
"Xie Shan, they don't create corpse kings. Humans are turned into corpse kings!"
Xie Shan's eyes widened.
"What!"
"Yes, Xie Shan, my father warned me to stay very far away from those people related to the Neohuman Alliance."
"Zhou Yin, how do humans transform? Do they use a direct means or some sort of contact transformation?"
"That I don't know!"
Mu Shen immediately butted in.
"There's a probability that an active energy is used as the medium for transformation."
Zhou Yin and Xie Shan stared at Mu Shen but then Zhou Yin sneered. "Kid, mind your business. It's rude to eavesdrop and poke-nose into one's conversation. Did your parents not teach you that?"
Mu Shen's brows furrowed, however he ignored them and looked outside. He saw two of the Academy's strongest headmasters step out.
And all of a sudden, Mu Shen's eyes widened in horror.
He was not affected, but two Neohuman's fought with the two headmasters and the starry sky shattered as ripples swept through the fabric of existence.
From what Mu Shen had gotten from the two boys, the Neohuman Alliance is something considered an abomination to humanity. These people transformed humans into corpse kings either directly or indirectly.
Mu Shen's already furrowed brows and widened eyes relaxed. And then, his eyes turned so sharp and icy that the temperature suddenly dropped below minus zero degrees.
Zhou Yin and Xie Shan were suddenly terrified.
The two turned towards Mu Shen as they trembled.
Is it this young man? How can he give them a terrifying sense of danger?
They could not tell, but their scalps tingled at this moment— their bodies screaming, telling them that if they persist, then they'd die.
Immediately both left silently without a word and Mu Shen scoffed, eventually laughing.
"Bozos!"
The battle between the two headmasters and the two men from the Neohuman Alliance continued and Mu Shen sighed. This was not his battle, he couldn't even do anything if given a chance to be in that battlefield.
But he learnt something—
The Neohuman Alliance, the corpse kings and how they are being created — the leftover of an already killed human, perhaps.
