After The Apocalypse, I Was Transmigrated Into a Cultivation World

Chapter 38: The Vile Thieving bird

The maelstrom of infinite blades fused with the very canvas of the sky that it destroyed everything in its wake.

Nothing was spared, Mu Shen's shadows was not spared, every last one of them — Mu Shen himself had to realize the hard way.

Death?

The vile thing smirked — Condemnation?

It was so proud of that name.

Mu Shen stared at the blades descending on him and he heard the vile thing speak:

"Who has ever escaped from me before? Nobody! Those who try only end up — condemned."

Mu Shen's eyes ignited with fury. And he decided that it was time to reveal his back-up plans. He always have a solution ready in cases of critical situations.

"Have you heard of the Vile Thieving bird?" Mu Shen suddenly asked and for a moment, the massive titan seem to freeze, as if trembling under the heavy weight of an even oppressive pressure and power.

The maelstrom of sword froze for a while and resumed. This was exactly what Mu Shen had wanted — a brief moment, a split second, a few breath.

When the maelstrom resumed, motes of light gathered once again in an infinite number and condensed into a defensive barrier.

"Did you trick me with the vile Thieving bird just so that you could get a moment? Well, let's just say that — I'm done playing around."

With a serious expression, the maelstrom turned into a whirlwind and crashed upon the barrier with a deafening ring. Then inch by inch, these infinite swords pierced through the barrier causing Mu Shen's face to pale as he spat blood.

Mu Shen did not relent and he bravely looked at the titan in the eye — those black, slightly stretched pupils. Mu Shen said;

"Do not underestimate the Vile Thieving bird."

Moments earlier when he had killed the boys with a single punch and taken their cosmic rings, Mu Shen had seen something startling.

First was the formcast model, level 6, level 5 and level 4. Then, next was the star crystals which didn't sum up to any considerable amount. 200 star crystals is no longer a large number for Mu Shen.

Then lastly was a strange bone flute. The bone was so ancient that it was very hard not to notice. And on the body it was sternly written — summon the Vile Thieving bird for support. And a warning — Do not summon if you do not have the required strength.

He also saw — change the location of your opponent. And a warning — stay away from your opponent or risk being transported alongside.

It all made sense how he had mysteriously found himself at the heart of Stormsea along with the boys. The ancient bone flute had two ability and that is — summoning the Vile Thieving bird and teleportation, as long as a mental picture of the location is within the wielder's grasp, teleportation should be possible.

Another thing to put into consideration is that — summoning the Vile Thieving bird required three melody. Ugly, harrowing and unpleasant. The melody of the tone should possess these three qualities or else, summoning could fail.

It was as this point that the hammer had shot out of the ground and into the sky, caving it in.

At that moment, Mu Shen had no choice. He needed to summon the Thieving bird or else, he would just die in the hands of this titan named condemnation.

However, he lacked the desired strength so it was definitely a gamble. Mu Shen did not actually need to command it, just seeing a much stronger foe would naturally ignite its hatred. So that by then, Mu Shen should be able to get out of Stormsea.

The titan's expression darkened and the maelstrom of blades continued to pierce through the blade and in that moment, the sturdy barrier finally reverted back into motes of light and dissolved, allowing the swords to continue moving towards Mu Shen.

He could no longer wait and he brought out the bone flute and hummed three horrifying melody.

Ripples suddenly appeared and a powerful silencing power spread, opening up the hollow which swallowed and consumed plains and subterraneans. It was brief but that was enough.

The titan grew much infuriated and the maelstrom continued, however a voice entered their ears — thick, domineering and insidious.

"Who summoned me?"

At this moment, Mu Shen turned and flee while the titan's huge body faced the Vile Thieving bird.

The bird's will on the world was so powerful that condemnation actually felt condemned for the first time.

"It couldn't have been you, then who?"

Mu Shen was already gone. There was no one else to take the blame and then, the Vile Thieving bird sprang into action.

Massive feathers spread out, covering the world and pressing it down. The titan's maelstrom transformed from a whirlwind to a blur and clashed with the descending feather. Then, a deafening thunderclap caused the balance of the world to tilt.

The hollow manifested in all its glory.
