Angel of The Hidden Leaf

Chapter 54: "This will hurt her more than it hurts you,"

I opened my eyes and found myself being chained down on a cave wall. Thick steel chains bound my arms, legs, and torso to the cold hard rock behind me. I tried to get out, but there's nothing I can do. My force isn't strong enough to break these chains and there's nothing around me to control.

Then, the blue haired paper girl started walking towards me. I gritted my teeth and tried to choke her to death, her neck falls apart into pieces of paper but it doesn't bother her at all. "Fuck you, I'm not telling you anything," I told her.

The girl created a paper chair and sat down on top of it. She looked at me in the eyes and I can finally see her. She's not all that much different than the Hokage after he was killed, her eyes are empty and hollow, her expression is flat and emotionless.

But, something tells me that she's actually alive. She's just dead in the inside, like me a few worlds ago.

"I'm not asking," the girl said in a soft monotone voice.

I glared at her but said nothing, waiting for them to start their evil monologue. I love it when villains talk and brag about their plans. Just give me the idea to deliver that sweet karmic retribution. It also gives me more time to plan something out or even time for my friends to figure out where I am.

"They cannot find this place," she stated and I waited for her to brag about the location of this hidden place. "Even I don't know where this is," okay, she's not that stupid, but she's a villain so it shouldn't be long for her to make a blunder.

Again, I decided not to say a word and just waited for her to tell her plans. But she just sat there, looking at me patiently. It's not even awkward silence, she's just sitting there like she's waiting for something to happen.

After what felt like hours, I finally relented. "Who are you?" I asked her.

"I'm a paper clone," the girl replied.

"And you are tasked to…"

"I am tasked to keep an eye on you until Mistress arrived," she replied.

Huh, does she refer the original as mistress or is she a servant like Haku to me? Either way, if she's anything like Haku, I'm not getting anything out of her. "Then? What will happen to me?" I asked her.

"I do not know."

"Do you even know why your mistress wants me?"

The paper clone paused for a bit before answering that one. "I am not sure," she said.

"Can you please elaborate?" I asked her again.

An even longer pause from the paper clone before she finally answers. "I am not privy to mistress's plans."

"So this 'mistress' you're referring to, isn't she the original?" I asked her.

"No," she replied quickly.

Interesting, so she's definitely not the final boss I've been looking for. Though, she's already pretty freaking tough, I don't think I'll have much chance against the leader of this group. "If I ask you really nicely, will you get me out of here?" I asked her.

The girl shook her head.

"Is there any chance of me talking my way out of this situation?" I asked her again.

The girl shook her head.

Okay, I'm definitely in a tight spot. There's not much I can do now except to just wait, whether for help to arrive or for this mistress to arrive. Either way, I am still more than ready to kick ass. "Say, girl, who is your mistress anyway?" I asked her.

"My mistress requested me to not reveal her identity."

With that, another hour of awkward silence follows. Talking with the paper girl is like talking to a chatbot. Heck, I wouldn't be surprised if she's actually a robot, her dead eyes and flat expression makes her look more like a lifeless golem than a human.

Granted, she's a clone, but still… Even Naruto's clones has different and distinct personality…

When it felt like I'm about to die of boredom, a swirling orange portal appeared behind the paper girl. The portal seems to be leading to an office or some sort, it resembles the Hokage Tower but it's definitely a different place.

A brown haired girl and the original paper girl walked out of it. The former has her arms around the latter's shoulder as they walked out of the portal. "…too stuffy and simple minded." I heard the brown haired girl said while waving her hands around. "I mean, world peace? Simulated utopia? What kind of nonsense is that?"

The original paper girl said nothing, she just stared at the girl with that hollow eyes.

"I mean, my plan makes much, much more sense right?" oh boy, here it goes, the villain disregarding the hostage while talking about their plans trope. "Right?" she asked again.

Paper girl just nodded a little. "Yes mistress, your plan makes much more sense."

Goddammit, just talk about your plan already!

Then, the brown haired girl noticed me and a bright smile appeared on her face. She let go of the paper girl and walked closer towards me. "Ah! Haios! It's been so long, how are you?" she greeted me.

I've never seen this girl before in my entire life, but a sense of familiar dread slowly rose in my chest. "Who are you?" I asked her.

The girl narrowed her eyes in confusion. "What do you mean who? I'm your stepsister, Vida!" she exclaimed before puffing her cheeks in annoyance. "We haven't met for like two worlds and you've already forgotten about me…"

Vida, stepsister… Wh-what? But I… Oh no, no no no no, this can't be real, FUCK! "Go to hell you fucking bitch!!!" I struggled against my bindings and tried to strangle her to death. But an invisible force seems to be fighting against mine. "FUCK YOU!!!"

The girl walked closer towards me and took out a… tissue out of her pocket. She started wiping my face with it. "There, there, Haios chan, don't cry…" but I wasn't crying. I'm not crying am I?

"I-I hate you…" I whispered.

"I'm not going to hurt you," Vida said softly. "Well, not physically," she added with a small grin. "Also, you did me a huge favor for sending out that clone, now we can just stay here and relax while everyone gets ready."

"The Hokage, was it you?" I asked her.

Vida nodded a little. "Yep, and it was super easy, barely an inconvenience! Here's how it works," she made some hand seals but nothing happens. "First of, we need to use a genjutsu to make ourselves harder to spot," she then made a tiny portal beside her before taking out a kunai from her pocket. I can't see where that portal leads to and I don't want to know. "Then you make a portal, give some wind element to make this kunai super sharp and…" she stabbed the kunai into the portal. "Stab! Easy kill!"

After that, Vida closed off the portal. "Now, and this part is totally optional by the way, you make a portal below the corpse," she made another portal right above her and stepped aside. A person dropped down from the portal and I closed my eyes before I can see anything.

"What is it Haios chan? Do you not want to know who just kicked the bucket?" Vida taunted but I'm still not opening my eyes.

"Don't worry, it's not the main character or your little pet," Vida said. "Here's a hint, this girl was on her way to the hospital with a pretty flower bouquet and a handmade bento," I heard the sound of a lunch box opening. "Hmm… Not bad, not bad at all… Ne, Konan chan, you want some?"

Flower bouquet, going to the hospital… No, please, it can't be…

I dared myself to take a peek and I saw it. A mop of long pale blonde hair sprawled on the ground. I closed my eyes again before I can see her clothing. It might not be her, it might be some other blonde haired girl who happens to be visiting the hospital.

A rustling sound of a flower appeared in front of me."Hmm, what's this? A letter?" Vida said suddenly. "Dear Sasuke, I'm writing this letter to…"

"GET YOUR HANDS OFF THAT LETTER!!!" I struggled against the bindings once again, desperately trying to stop her from reading it. I just can't accept the truth, I don't want to accept this bullshit reality. The Hokage is dead and now…

Ino…

"Okay, okay, geez," I heard Vida putting the paper back into the flower bouquet. "Just a stupid love letter from a stupid fan girl, no need to overreact," I so desperately want to smash her head on the nearest wall and just fucking murder her. "Now, where was I? Oh yeah…"

"Ghak!" I yelped in agony when something strong and hard hit my stomach. "You fucking li… AAH!" a very painful whip smacked my thigh followed by another one at my abdomen. "What happened to the…" I hissed when she whipped my ribcage. "not hurting me physically?"

"Sorry, sorry," she said in a sickeningly sheepish tone. "I just need to roughen you up a bit before…" she punched me in the face and smacked my head to the wall behind me. "…sending you out on display. You know, to make sure that your savior doesn't take me too lightly."

A hand grabbed my throat and I'm struggling to breathe. I still refused to open my eyes, but I can feel her breathing inches away from me. "I'm so, so sorry Haios chan, but this isn't about you…" her grip tightened and it's starting to become unbearable. "This is about that bitch who thinks that she's above consequences. This is about that pink scum who thinks that she can play by her own rules. This is about that stupid nurse who thinks that she can fight fate and save everyone."

Stop choking me… I… can't…

"This will hurt her more than it hurts you," she whispered before my vision went black.

[LINE BREAK]

"Ne, Kabuto, if I'm a megalomaniac who's dead set on trying destroying the Hidden Leaf Village. How should I do it and when?" Sakura asked her assistant absentmindedly as she read through some medical reports and paper works.

"I will try and lure the Rookie Nine away from the village when they are the weakest," Kabuto replied without looking away from his patient. The patient is the two most powerful shinobi in the Leaf Village, Sasuke and Naruto, and they are still unconscious.

Sakura paused for a moment and looked at the current state of the two powerhouse. The rookie nine at their weakest, it couldn't be anymore ironic. "Kabuto, tell me everything you know about the Red Dawn."

Kabuto looked away from his patient and walked towards Sakura. "There's not much I can give you I'm afraid," he said. "Even Orochimaru couldn't get much about Itachi who was one of the member, hence why he went after Sasuke instead," he added.

Then, a smirk slowly formed on Kabuto's face. "Speaking of Itachi…" a knocking sound came from the door. He walked towards the door and opened it, revealing the S-Rank Missing Nin, Uchiha Itachi standing behind the door. "What a pleasant surprise, Itachi kun…"

Itachi stared at Kabuto for a moment. "A surprise indeed Kabuto…" he then looked at Sakura and saw her still going through her paperwork. "And you must be, Doctor Haruno."

"So, what is the purpose of your visit?" Sakura asked calmly without looking away from her work.

"I'm visiting my sick brother, is there something wrong with that?" Itachi asked.

"I'm surprised you still think of him as your brother."

Itachi shook his head and walked towards Sasuke's bed. He looked at Sasuke's sleeping form for a moment before looking back at Sakura. "I want to have a word with him," he said.

"He's still recovering, why don't you leave him a message?" Sakura replied.

The missing nin shook his head. "You're skilled Doctor Haruno, your seal mastery is second to none. But unfortunately," his eyes glow red as the three tomoe turned into a kaleidoscope pattern. "It'll take more than this to fool me."

"Do you really think I will leave the two most important person in Konoha in an unsecured hospital?" Sakura asked flatly while stamping a document. "Do you really think I will stay around the hospital without some way of self defense?" she stamped another document. "Do you really think I will let a genocidal maniac just walk away from my hospital without consequences?" Sakura stamped another document.

Itachi walked towards Sakura and looked at her closely. The girl was smart enough not to look away from her work. "Sorry, Doctor Haruno," he flickered away from existence and reappeared in front of Kabuto. He gripped Kabuto's neck and pushed him to the wall. "But I am not taking any chances…"

Kabuto gritted his teeth and closed his eyes. "Just… how… OP are your eyes?" he whispered before he turned into Sakura with a flicker. "Not even the bya… kugan…"

"Your friend Ino is dead and we have Haios hidden in our base," Sakura's eyes snapped open in shock when she heard that. She then realized her mistake when the glowing red orb start eating away her conscious thought. "Tsukoyomi!!!"
