Colonel Flag's face was drenched with sweat, droplets cascading down his forehead. He hadn't anticipated the situation spiraling out of control like this.

Nervously, he shouted, "Where's the witch?"

A-zu smiled faintly, his tone laced with mockery. "Are you worried about the witch, or your girlfriend?"

"I gave her back her heart."

Those words sent a chill down Flag's spine, his heart sinking to the pit of his stomach. Enraged, he let out a roar and raised his gun.

But someone was faster.

Deadshot.

Bang!

The sound of a single gunshot echoed through the bar. Flag's rifle was knocked clean from his hands, sliding into the corner of the room.

Turning his head, he saw Deadshot donning his signature white mask. From beneath it came his muffled but steady voice: "Didn't you hear the boss just now?"

"Amanda's making a run for it. Move."

Harley Quinn raised her hand enthusiastically. "I can steal us a car!"

Colonel Flag quickly interrupted, "Wait, listen to me—"

A scream rang out behind him before he could finish. Killer Croc had pounced on one of the soldiers, sinking his massive jaws into the poor man's head.

Boomerang Captain, ever the lunatic, kissed his pink unicorn plushie before tossing his boomerang. The weapon zipped through the air, slicing the throats of two more soldiers.

The outlaws, finally unrestrained, revealed their fangs.

"Run, Colonel," Deadshot said calmly, his weapon trained on Flag.

Flag tried to reason with him. "Think this through. Even if you kill me and Amanda, you won't gain your freedom!"

"You want custody of your daughter, don't you?"

Deadshot hesitated, lowering his gun slightly. "You're right. I do."

Harley turned to him, incredulous. "You're kidding, right?"

But Deadshot continued, his voice cold. "But when I struck a deal with you bastards, you made it clear I didn't have the leverage to negotiate."

"So, after thinking it through, I realized... even if I help you, I still won't get my freedom or my daughter back."

With that, he fired a single shot. Colonel Flag's head snapped back, blood spraying across the room.

The group of villains bolted toward the exit. It was then they realized A-zu had disappeared without a trace.

At the door, they found the Vengeful Demon crouching in the corner. Remembering the fiery demonic form he had taken earlier, Deadshot called out, "You coming?"

The Vengeful Demon shook his head solemnly. "I just want to find a quiet place... to wait for death."

Deadshot pulled off his mask, grinning. "Buddy, I don't think death's coming for you anytime soon."

"But if Amanda doesn't die, she'll find you. She'll lock you up again—or worse, use you like she did today. You'll never know peace."

The Vengeful Demon trembled slightly before rising to his feet.

"That's more like it." Deadshot slid his mask back on.

---

Federal Building Rooftop.

Amanda Waller placed her phone down. She had just secured a helicopter to escape Midway City.

After instructing her team to delete all the sensitive files, she pulled a handgun from her bag, aiming it at the man nearest to her.

"Director, what are you doing?!"

The man was horrified. Before he could react further, Amanda coldly pulled the trigger.

Bang!

The bullet didn't hit its mark.

A hand intercepted it, the deformed bullet dropping harmlessly to the ground.

Amanda staggered back, her expression shifting to one of disbelief. "You?! Why are you here?"

A-zu chuckled, stepping into the light. "The best seat in the house is always the front row. And the show's about to get good—why would I miss it?"

His gaze turned sharp. "You're as ruthless as they say."

As he spoke, A-zu casually plucked the gun from Amanda's hands. With a simple squeeze, it crumpled into a ball of useless metal.

"She's all yours," he said to the approaching figures.

With that, A-zu strolled out of the room, his footsteps echoing eerily in the tense silence.

The remaining personnel, eyes filled with anger, rose one by one, advancing on Amanda.

"Stay back!" Amanda yelled, retreating step by step. "I didn't want this! But this information is too sensitive—I couldn't take the risk!"

"So we're expendable, Director?" one man roared, the one she had nearly shot earlier. "If someone has to die, why shouldn't it be you?"

Amanda's voice hardened. "Because I'm more valuable than you. And when my value is gone, they'll discard me just as easily."

"Don't waste time arguing!" another shouted. "Kill her!"

"Yeah! Kill her!"

Amanda glared at them. "Stand down! Unless you want to spend the rest of your lives rotting in prison!"

The room fell silent.

Many had families, people they cared about. None wanted to face a lifetime behind bars.

Then, someone spoke up. "Let her go."

"But I've already sent the surveillance footage online. Her days are numbered."

With that, the group grudgingly parted, allowing Amanda to pass.

Expressionless, Amanda walked through the narrow path they created, heading toward the rooftop.

---

On the rooftop, A-zu hovered in midair, gazing down at the city below.

Amanda appeared, watching as a helicopter approached from the distance.

Just as the helicopter neared a nearby building, two streams of fire erupted from its rooftop.

The flames engulfed the aircraft, and the screams of the crew echoed into the night.

The chopper exploded midair before plummeting onto the street below, crashing into a car and sending terrified pedestrians scattering.

"No!" Amanda screamed, rushing to the edge of the rooftop.

From behind her, a voice called out casually. "Good evening, Director."

Amanda spun around, seeing Deadshot with his rifle slung over his shoulder.

She scoffed. "Just you?"

"Not quite."

Deadshot gestured toward a distant rooftop. "Vengeful Demon's over there. He took care of your ride."

"Harley and Croc? They're downstairs, keeping your little 'Samurai' busy. She's tough—holding her own against three."

"So, I had time for a little chat with you."

Deadshot stepped closer, removing his mask. "Tell me something, Director. How did Batman find me?"

"I've been wondering about it in my cell. Then it hit me—someone gave him my file."

"That someone... was you, wasn't it?"

Amanda lifted her chin. "Escort me out, Deadshot. Do that, and I'll grant you freedom, custody of your daughter, and full education funding for her."

Deadshot chuckled darkly. "Generous, aren't you? But why not put it in writing?"

Amanda spread her empty hands. "Do I look like I have pen and paper?"

"Trust me, I'll keep my word."

"I believe you," Deadshot said, smiling.

Amanda turned toward the exit. "Then what are we waiting for?"

Bang!

A shot rang out, the ground near Amanda's feet erupting in dust.

"What are you doing?!" Amanda demanded.

Deadshot's smile faded. "I trust you'll keep your word, but I don't trust that you won't have me shot the moment I'm free."

"You're not fooling anyone, Amanda. You're a liar, a manipulator. I've dealt with people like you my whole life."

He raised his gun. "And the safest way to deal with people like you?"

Bang!

Amanda's body crumpled, lifeless, as she tumbled from the rooftop.

Lowering his rifle, Deadshot muttered, "You make them dead."

Without a backward glance, he disappeared into the shadows.

---

From the sky above, A-zu applauded. "Bravo. Now that's a real villain."

"None of that watered-down nonsense from the movies."

He shifted his gaze. "Now, what will the witch do?"

Scanning the area, he located her.

The Enchantress crouched in a restroom within an underground mall. She opened a suitcase, retrieved her heart, and pressed it against her chest.

Boom!

A green aura engulfed her body. Moments later, she emerged from the light.

No longer disheveled and filthy, she stood tall, her hair styled and adorned with a fan-shaped headdress inscribed with strange symbols.

She was clean, radiant, and brimming with allure.
