Attribute Farming System

Chapter 8: System Interface

"Inappropriate, you say?" Yennefer's voice was chilling, her tone sharper than the blade she wielded. "I see..."

"Wait, woman!" Knox shouted as the pressure around him increased a dozenfold. His body trembled under the force, but he refused to collapse. "Before you do anything rash, remember exactly who it is that you're about to attack!"

"Oh, I know precisely who you are," Yennefer said, her lips curling into an icy smirk. Without her moving a finger, her thin, light blue sword unsheathed itself from its scabbard, hovering in the air.

"I know you're about to be a dead man."

SHING!

The sound of the blade slicing through the air sent a chill down Knox's spine.

'Sh*t!'

He attempted to weave out of the way, but the large sword arc unleashed from Yennefer's strike was too fast—far too fast for dodging to be possible.

It was at that moment that reality hit him—he was absolutely f*cked.

However, just as he resigned himself to what seemed like a premature and highly unfair death, something unexpected happened.

His eyes widened as a translucent blue screen appeared before him, glowing with ethereal energy.

*Ding!*

[An Agility Attribute Orb has dropped from a Peak Foundation Establishment Realm Cultivator!]

[+76 Agility]

As soon as the illusory words flashed in his vision, Knox's instincts kicked in.

His saving grace had arrived.

Without hesitation, he pulled the Attribute Orb toward him, faster than the sword arc that threatened to cleave him apart. His body instantly absorbed the Orb, and the surge of power coursed through him.

His stat sheet immediately reflected the change:

[INTELLIGENCE: 3 (20)] (Ever heard of a book? They exist, ya know?)

[PERCEPTION: 2 (20)] (At this point, someone could aim a gun straight at you and give you ten seconds to dodge, but you would still get hit.)

[AFFINITY: 1 (20)] (You have no talent for anything. Ever heard of the phrase 'One-Trick Pony'? Well, you're a No-Trick Pony.]

Knox smirked.

'My appearance has rendered you speechless, I see. Heh~'

On another note, it seemed that his Full Body Reconstruction had set all his stats to a base 20. But now, with the absorption of that Agility Attribute Orb, his speed had skyrocketed past the rest.

That was good—except for the fact that a life-threatening sword arc was still barreling toward him.

His gaze flickered toward the incoming attack.

"...It does look a lot slower," he muttered, tilting his head.

His feet twitched. His body felt lighter.

"Let's try dodging.'

Knox sidestepped to the right—

*Fwooop—!*

A sharp sound blasted behind him as he effortlessly evaded the sword arc. The difference between his former self and his current self was like the difference between Heaven and Earth.

The arc tore through the air, unleashing rolling waves of energy that rattled the entire forest. The surrounding trees bore deep scars, their bark splitting as thin fissures spread across them.

By the time the sword arc finally collided with something, Knox was already seated cross-legged on a nearby boulder—right beside the confident Eldest Young Miss of the Berkshires.

He rested his chin against his fist, his expression one of utter boredom as he watched the destruction unfold.

A massive explosion shook the ground as the arc's impact kicked up a storm of dust and debris. Though the dust cloud obscured most of the view, the results were undeniable—dozens of trees had been blown apart, their splintered remains scattered across the charred battlefield. In their place stood a 20-meter-wide crater.

The sheer force of the attack was terrifying.

Yet, as the dust began to settle, Yennefer's expression subtly shifted.

Something was wrong.

Her eyes darted around.

That scumbag pervert—where was he!?

"That was a good show," Knox's voice rang out, smooth and mocking. "Bravo, bravo!"

Yennefer snapped her gaze toward him, her brows furrowing as she found him clapping in an exaggerated manner.

"You!" she seethed.

Knox grinned. "Me!"

WAAA!

Yennefer's aura exploded, her power surging to new heights. Fury boiled within her, her patience wearing dangerously thin.

He was toying with her.

She clenched her fists, ready to make him regret ever speaking—

But before she could act on her impulses, a series of footsteps approached from the distance.

The rustling of leaves. The snapping of twigs.

Yennefer's breath hitched.

She froze.

Her eyes widened in sudden realization.

'What was I thinking!?'

She had just attacked the Eldest Young Master of the Falazar Family.

In broad daylight.

Inside the Main Falazar Household.

Was she out of her goddamn mind!??

Even if she despised him—even if she had zero respect for him—she had no right to be so impulsive.

Her ambiguous reasoning came back to bite her.

Did she really attack him for the sake of her sister?

Or was it… because of something else?

They say that when two extremely similar people meet, they could do nothing but hate each other.

That seemed to be the case here.

"Oh, my big, brave, loyal soldiers!" Knox suddenly shouted, alarm filling his voice. "The evil girl who attacked me for no reason whatsoever is right over here! Help! Please help me!"

Yennefer's eye twitched.

Her fists clenched tighter.

Knox, meanwhile, was nearly giddy with amusement.

His acting was flawless.

And why, one might ask, was he going through the trouble of playing the helpless victim?

Firstly, he actually was the victim here.

Secondly…

In court, who was more likely to receive the judge's favor?

The male or the female?

Exactly.

Knox didn't need to elaborate further.

Let's just say that if he played the victim before the vixen could…

He'd come out on top—right in his home turf.
