Chapter 2: Chapter 2: The game of life and death
Spy smiled to himself as he walked through the streets of Ashwood. He had decided that before he erased the world, he wanted to have a little fun with the people who had ignored him for so long. He wanted to let them know that he existed, that he was someone important, and that they couldn't ignore him anymore. He began walking down the main street, where people were rushing to get to their destinations. Spy stopped at a corner and looked around, looking for someone who was ignoring him. It didn't take long for him to find a woman who walked past him without even looking at him. "Ah, perfect," Spy told himself. "She'll be the first." Spy closed his eyes and concentrated. The woman who had walked past him suddenly stopped in her tracks and looked around, confused. He didn't know what was happening, but suddenly, everything around him began to change. The buildings around her began to fade away, and the street became an empty desert. The woman looked around, terrified, and saw Spy standing in front of her, grinning. "What's going on?" the woman screamed. "You're playing a game," Spy replied. "A game of life or death. If you win, I'll let you go. But if you lose, you'll disappear forever." The woman looked at Spy with terror in her eyes. She didn't know what to do, but she knew she had to play. Spy gave her a card with a phone number on it and told her to call him. "What should I do?" the woman asked. "You must do what I tell you," Spy replied. "If you don't, you'll die. If you do, you'll get to live. The choice is yours." The woman nodded and called the phone number. Spy answered the phone and gave her an instruction. "Go to the park and sit on the bench under the big tree. If you don't, you'll die." The woman ran into the park, her heart pounding. She sat on the bench and looked around, waiting for something to happen. Suddenly, a strong wind began to blow, and the woman stood up from the bench, frightened. "What's going on?" she screamed. "You're playing the game," replied Spy, who was standing behind her. "If you follow the instructions, you can live. If you don't, you will die." The woman nodded and followed Spy's instructions. She did everything she was told, and each time she did, she felt more and more terrified. She didn't know what was happening, but she knew she was in danger. Finally, after hours of playing the game, the woman stopped in a corner, exhausted. Spy walked over to her and smiled. "You've won," she said. "You can live." The woman fainted with relief, and Spy laughed. He had played with her, and he had won. But he knew this was only the beginning. He had bigger plans, plans that involved the whole town. And as he walked through the streets of Ashwood, Spy smiled to himself. He knew that soon, very soon, everyone would know his name. And he would know that they couldn't ignore him any longer.
