Break The Silence

Chapter 28: Chapter 28

Jimin settled himself on the chair, he pulled the sketch book and began to draw random lines. Taehyung realized that Jimin gave him a sign to continue their conversations.

He carefully sat on the chair besides Jimin, observing each move of him. "You recognized me that night." Taehyung reminded, giving sometime to Jimin to react.

Jimin paused, he thought for a moment and then looked up at Taehyung's face.

Taehyung adjusted himself, he leaned closer and gently continued to talk. "Do you recognized me now?" He asked, his heart raced at his own question.

Jimin nodded, he reacted quickly for the first time and Taehyung assumed as a progress. It explained, Jimin now began to trust on him, he felt comfortable around him and it was a way towards his recovery.

"You...are my brother." Jimin replied in a low voice.

Taehyung softly smiled, his heartbeat raised even further. " I'm glad that you now remembered." He appreciated.

Jimin glanced around carefully, his eyes scanning the area as though he was looking for someone. Taehyung could tell he was still afraid of Jisun, but as they sat together, he noticed a change. Jimin's eyes no longer looked as scared as before, the fear slowly fading away.

"You can tell me anything Jimin." Taehyung assured, "I promise I'll help you."

Jimin shifted his gaze back to Taehyung, "At first, I...I just felt familiar with you." He revealed, nodded his head to encourage himself and continued, "Then I got memories about the orphan centre, but...but." he paused ana looked around again.

Taehyung sat patiently, willing to give Jimin all the time he needed. But as he watched, he realized something. Though Jimin might be the same age as him physically, mentally, he was still the seventeen-year-old boy who was afraid by Jisun.

"But...what Jimin?" Taehyung successfully earned Jimin's attention back to him.

"Jisun told me he would kill you if I speak anything." Jimin replied, "Jisun...he's not my hallucinations." He added.

Taehyung nodded, he grabbed Jimin's hand and squeezed softly. "I know he's an evil spirit and has been haunting you since he died." He said.

Jimin's eyes widened in disbelief. Taehyung's acknowledgment of Jisun's existence shocked him. For a moment, he stared at Taehyung, his heart aching. He had finally found someone who didn't think he was crazy.

Jimin eased his shoulders, as now he felt comfortable around Taehyung. "I told everyone, but nobody believed me." He complained.

Taehyung endearingly caressed his face, "But I do." He replied, "And we will find a way to solve this problem."

Jimin nodded, he didn't know how to expressed his joy but to tell Taehyung that he was grateful, he grabbed Taehyung's hand and squeezed softly, a gesture he learned by Taehyung.

Taehyung cleared his throat, he hadn't planned longer session, but as Jimin ease with being questioned, therefore he decided to extended their conversations.

"Jimin, the question I'm going to ask you is so important right now." Taehyung explained, "But it doesn't mean you have to answer it quickly. It's okay if you want to take time, but let me tell you one thing, no matter what happens I'm on your side. " He made sure that Jimin wouldn't feel uncomfortable around him, after all it took him years to find Jimin and bring him back in his life.

Jimin nodded, though deep inside, a wave of fear surged through him, tightening its grip on his heart. His anxiety grew with each passing second as he tried to assumed Taehyung's next question. The thought alone sent a chill down his spine, but he clung to the warmth in Taehyung's reassuring words.

Taehyung sharply breathed, he took felt anxious as the question that he wanted to ask from Jimin could lead this case into a new direction.

"Did you kill Jisun?" Taehyung finally asked. He knew it was a biggest risk, but to take further steps he needed to know what happened that night.

Jimin froze at the question, his hand tightening around the pencil he held. The random lines he had been drawing on the sketchbook suddenly stopped as if his entire body had gone still. His breathing grew uneven, and his gaze dropped to the page in front of him, refusing to meet Taehyung's eyes.

For a long moment, Jimin didn't say anything, the silence between them heavy and suffocating. Taehyung watched him closely, noticing the slight tremble in Jimin's shoulders.

Taehyung leaned closer, his expression calm and patient, though his heart ached seeing the pain in Jimin's eyes. "It's okay," he said softly, "Take your time, we can talk about this later."
