Building Superheroes at Marvel

Chapter 57: Contain

On the 40th floor of the Water Company, in a high-security lab.

Eight hours had passed since the superhero team had defeated the monstrous creature.

"Boss, I've compiled the data on the origin of this creature, but unfortunately, all the researchers involved in the experiment are dead."

Ryan entered with a heavy stack of files. He had been out on an inspection mission but was called back immediately to investigate the monster.

After four hours of painstaking work, he finally pieced together the details and drafted the report.

Ryan couldn't help but marvel at the complexity of the creature's creation. It was an absolute nightmare to deal with.

It was clear that Liquid Crystal No. 7 had been banned from further research, but someone had secretly continued experiments and, tragically, paid the price.

"Thanks for your efforts, Ryan. This is on me!" Kyle sighed heavily. Today's events had set off alarm bells in his mind.

Though he could control vital information through nano-toxins, he couldn't suppress the desires and ambitions of those around him. Just like this illegal experiment, which had spiraled into chaos.

"Master, this isn't your fault. This is a failure of the security department," Gasco interjected, shaking his head. "Had we done better on our inspections, this wouldn't have happened."

Sadly, the few remaining researchers had no idea they'd been deceived until their last moments.

"I'm also to blame for this error. The central database failed to make a timely judgment," Red Queen added, her tone full of remorse.

Despite her ability to monitor every corner of the company, she had failed to detect the rogue experiment.

"I don't blame you," Kyle replied. "This man's methods were too sophisticated. It took him four months to collect residue from earlier experiments, and today, he finally succeeded."

Kyle studied the report in his hands, his expression deepening with concern.

The experiment was led by a retired professor from Imperial University, a name once synonymous with integrity. It shouldn't have happened, but now that the monster had been created, it was too late to reverse the damage.

Kyle's focus shifted to containing the creature ensuring that it would never be a threat to the public again, and that it would remain trapped within the confines of the company forever.

The issue with just killing it was that the creature, in its liquid form, could reassemble itself, no matter how many times it was destroyed.

Perhaps because it was created using the No. 7 Crystal, the creature also possessed remarkable heat resistance, making it nearly indestructible.

"Get Hadley into the containment unit," Kyle ordered, referring to the creature by the name they had given it.

In the center of the room stood a massive transparent container, its ends connected by two large, circular iron rings.

On either side of the container were special sensors, constructed from advanced molecular materials, attached firmly to the walls. Once activated, these sensors would emit high-frequency fluctuations to prevent Hadley from altering its form.

The container would continuously rotate, ensuring that the creature remained in its liquid state, unable to alter its shape, keeping it under constant control.

"How are Natasha and the team? They should be in Afghanistan by now," Kyle asked, looking to Gasco.

After securing Hadley, Kyle was preparing to leave. A special plane had been arranged, cutting travel time considerably.

Had Natasha been here earlier, the creature would have been neutralized in seconds, torn apart by her powerful psychic abilities.

"Miss Natasha sent an update 35 minutes ago—they've arrived at the target location," Gasco replied.

Kyle nodded in acknowledgment and continued walking. He had a few key conversations lined up with the team of superpowered individuals, particularly regarding the surveillance footage he had reviewed.

Afghanistan

Under Natasha's expert camouflage, she had completely transformed her appearance, blending seamlessly with her environment.

"Red, we can begin the operation," Natasha instructed, her voice calm yet authoritative.

With 200 highly trained teammates in tow, Natasha boarded the off-road vehicle. The Red Queen's voice crackled through her headset, confirming the operation's next phase.

"Understood, Miss Natasha. I'm processing the locations now."

Suddenly, military satellites from around the world lost control of their systems and began to converge their focus solely on Afghanistan.

Following Kyle's intel, the Red Queen had narrowed down 48 potential locations to investigate. The next step was to systematically check them all.

"Alright, we'll split into groups of four to search these locations. I've sent the map to your watches," Natasha relayed to her team.

The Red Queen made sure the map was marked clearly, with each group's designated route.

Their goal was to locate the "Playboy" a key target. If Natasha encountered him first, she would handle the rescue on her own. But if someone else found him, they would send out an alert and wait for backup.

Even though their enhanced soldiers were formidable, the sheer numbers of the Ten Rings gang posed a serious threat. It only took a few well-coordinated forces to overwhelm an individual warrior.

"Let's go!" Natasha shouted, leading the charge. She revved her sand motorcycle and accelerated, racing ahead.

Behind her, a convoy of fifty off-road vehicles followed at high speed, their dust clouds rising as they sped across the desert.

The Ten Rings Gang Base

"Ethan, check out how this little beauty is doing," Tony Stark said with a grin, holding up the miniature arc reactor he'd been working on.

He looked thoroughly pleased with his progress.

"My God! You actually succeeded!" Ethan exclaimed, his eyes wide with disbelief.

The reactor was no bigger than a palm, yet Tony assured him that its energy output was immense hundreds of millions of joules per second. Despite its size, it was incredibly stable.

Ethan was still in awe, particularly because he had watched Tony handle the reactor with his bare hands without any issue.

"This is the genius of Tony Stark," Tony said proudly. "Now, we can start figuring out how to escape."

Having removed the electromagnet from his chest and replaced it with the arc reactor, Tony felt an immediate sense of relief. This was the solution to the core problem. Now, the real work would begin building the armor that would help them break free.
