Chapter 56: The First Battle of the Superpowers

"What?"

Herb stepped back in a flash, his face full of horror.

Though they were superpowered, this was the first time Herb had encountered such a monstrous enemy alone.

Daisy also looked terrified. If Lilian hadn't reacted in time, she would have been impaled.

"I don't know what it is, but it looks like it should be an enemy!"

Longton clenched his fists, and his body instantly became covered with a layer of metallic sheen, activating his superpowers.

After a period of intense training, the hardness of his body in this state was now three times that of normal steel.

With punching power of up to 8 tons, he could be considered a living weapon, capable of rampaging through the battlefield.

"Damn, this guy's attacks are pretty powerful."

Lilian, having rejoined the team, grimaced. The earlier blow had knocked her down, leaving a puncture wound in her arm.

Blood still dripped from her left arm.

However, the penetrating injury, five centimeters deep, was healing rapidly, almost at a visible speed.

The abilities of a vampire were beginning to manifest!

"Exactly. Let's see what we're capable of now."

The middle-aged Hebo, a second-year veteran, was the first to speak, having eagerly anticipated this scene after reading so many novels.

All kinds of heroes coming together to fight evil monsters!

"Charge!"

Longton let out a loud roar, and instantly, with explosive force under his feet, he rushed toward the liquid monster.

His superpowers activated, and even his eyeballs were enhanced. His entire body felt invulnerable.

"Gululu...!!"

The monster emitted a strange sound, similar to bursting blisters. Four liquid tentacles formed from its body, directly facing Longton's charge.

Under Longton's powerful impact, the tentacles shattered almost immediately, breaking into pieces with every inch of contact. However, only half of the tentacles were destroyed in the process.

"Lilian, can you still move?"

There was no need to worry about Longton—so long as he maintained his ability, he wouldn't be instantly defeated.

Herb's powers were more supportive, and without his teammates' assistance, his ability to fight head-on was quite limited.

Normally, he could manipulate objects to send them directly into an opponent's body, but this monster was liquid, which made that approach ineffective.

"Don't worry, I'm from a noble bloodline!"

Lilian stuck out her tongue and licked the blood from her arm. Her wine-red pupils gleamed with more intensity.

After months of training with artificial blood, her powers were nearing full manifestation.

The injury had triggered her accelerated healing ability, and the rest of her powers would soon come to the forefront.

"Good. The main attacker this time is Daisy. We can't afford to get close to this monster in hand-to-hand combat."

Herb nodded to show he understood, then began formulating their tactics.

No one doubted that Daisy, with her ice powers, was the only one capable of seriously threatening the liquid monster.

"Space Teleportation!"

Placing his hand on Lillian's shoulder, Herb teleported, and the two vanished with a flash of blue light.

In the blink of an eye, they reappeared behind the monster.

Herb's body enhancement was similar to that of Captain America strong but not superhuman. So, first, he teleported to gather weapons before returning with Lillian.

"Go to hell, monster!"

Lilian, enraged, punched the creature's back, her blow creating a small sonic boom as most of the force landed.

The sound of water waves bursting echoed throughout the room.

Under Lilian's wrathful punch, half of the monster's body shattered into droplets of water that sprayed everywhere.

"Frozen!"

Daisy, who had been waiting in the back, saw her chance and summoned ice with a sweeping motion of her hand, aiming to freeze the creature solid.

The temperature in the room dropped rapidly, and frost marks quickly began to form across the monster's body, which seemed to sense the danger.

"Guru!!!"

The monster's roar contained both fury and panic.

Since its creation, it had never been subjected to such humiliation, and its form was disintegrating before its very eyes.

The four tentacles rapidly exerted force, hurling Longton across the room. His body slammed into a nearby wall, creating a series of cracks throughout.

Yet, the wall remained intact, showing its surprising durability.

"Impressive!"

Sweat dripped from Daisy's forehead. She was using her powers to their absolute limit, trying to freeze the monster before it could regain its strength.

But the struggle was immense, and it would soon be beyond her control.

"Hebo, let's control it."

Realizing the situation was getting worse, Lilian grabbed a chair and struck the monster on the head with it.

Naturally, Herb wasn't one to be left behind. He grabbed a fire extinguisher and sprayed it at the creature.

"Nice job!"

Daisy's expression relaxed slightly. With Hebo and Lilian's help, the monster's power was diminishing.

Brushing the dust off himself, Longton also walked over, no longer needing to press the attack.

"Huh, finally done."

After a solid half-minute of effort, Daisy stopped casting, beads of sweat dotting her face. She had expended over half of her energy.

But the result was clear: the five-meter-tall ice sculpture that stood before them was the product of their teamwork.

"I'll call the boss."

Lilian said, knowing that the laboratory behind this creature likely caused chaos outside the room.

Two minutes later...

Kyle quickly arrived at the superpower training room, accompanied by Gasco and twenty enhanced warriors.

"Where is the monster?"

Kyle asked, scanning the room.

Having received word that the monster had been subdued by the team, he rushed over with reinforcements.

"In Daisy's training room. We set the temperature to the lowest level to prevent the ice from melting."

Herb raised his hand and explained. Daisy's ice could last only about ten minutes, and once it began to melt, the monster would break free.

To prevent that from happening, they had carefully transported the ice sculpture to Daisy's training room.

"Well done, you all did great. And no one got hurt, right?"

Kyle pushed open the door to the room, where the towering monster ice sculpture stood frozen in place, cold air swirling around.

The creature's strength was impressive. According to the Red Queen's video recordings, as long as the monster was wrapped in ice, it would be absorbed and eventually neutralized.

Additionally, it could change shape at will, forming weapons, and was immune to most physical attacks.

For the team to have defeated such a creature without casualties was a remarkable feat.

If they continued to progress like this, it wouldn't be long before they became fully developed superhumans capable of handling any challenge.
