Chapter 5: How about a Good Chat?
Just now, Du Xiaoya half-jokingly remarked that Ye Chen was hiding his true self, playfully asking if he was on a business trip. It was a subtle test, but unfortunately, Ye Chen didn't catch on.
Not that it mattered—Du Xiaoya had already reached her own conclusion.
A college classmate of four years, Ye Chen had always maintained a low profile. But spending 610,000 yuan without hesitation? That wasn't something an average person could do. If he were self-made, making that kind of money right after graduation would be nearly impossible. The only logical explanation? He was a wealthy second-generation heir, quietly concealing his true status.
As these thoughts swirled in her mind, the receptionist placed a room card and Ye Chen's ID on the counter. "Mr. Ye, welcome to the Four Seasons Hotel. I'll take you up."
Ye Chen nodded. The female receptionist promptly stepped out from behind the desk and led the way.
Turning to Du Xiaoya, Ye Chen said, "Want to come up and sit for a while?"
"Okay," she replied, smiling as she followed him toward the elevator.
They entered the exclusive elevator and ascended swiftly to the thirty-sixth floor. As soon as the doors opened, a well-dressed woman with light makeup and a professional demeanor stood waiting. Two uniformed hotel staff flanked her. She folded her hands neatly in front of her waist and bowed slightly.
"Mr. Ye, welcome. I'm Andy, your personal butler."
Andy was assigned to Ye Chen the moment his payment went through. She had arrived at the elevator just in time to greet him personally.
Ye Chen nodded at the young woman, who looked to be around twenty-seven, and walked toward the presidential suite. Even though she was merely accompanying Ye Chen, Du Xiaoya instinctively smoothed her clothes, suddenly feeling the weight of the moment.
Andy briefly glanced at Du Xiaoya but said nothing, quickly falling in step behind Ye Chen.
Inside the presidential suite, Ye Chen surveyed the room.
First impression: impeccable.
Second impression: pure luxury.
From the large furniture pieces to the smallest tableware, everything was a prestigious international brand. The attention to detail screamed opulence.
"This place really exudes wealth…" he thought to himself.
As he took in the surroundings, Andy smiled and said, "Mr. Ye, if you need anything, please don't hesitate to contact me."
Her tone was warm and accommodating—professional yet subtly deferential, making the service feel seamless rather than intrusive.
Ye Chen nodded. "Alright, you may go."
"Of course, Mr. Ye." Andy bowed slightly before stepping out and closing the door behind her.
Ye Chen casually placed his laptop on the table, then turned to Du Xiaoya. "Make yourself comfortable. No need to be so reserved."
Still slightly tense, Du Xiaoya murmured an "mm" before sitting down on the plush sofa.
Seeing her hesitation, Ye Chen chuckled. "I'm going to take a shower. Feel free to have some wine or champagne. If you're hungry, just ask Andy to bring something up."
Hearing this, Du Xiaoya's heart started racing.
We were just chatting… why is he going straight for a shower?
She wasn't naive. She knew what this kind of situation usually implied.
Yet, despite her slight apprehension, she didn't say, "I should head back; let's talk tomorrow."
Even she wasn't entirely sure why she stayed.
Maybe it was subconscious. Maybe it was the appeal of finding a wealthy boyfriend. Either way, she remained seated.
Ye Chen caught the slight tremor in her voice.
Nervous? That means she's considering it…
Smirking slightly, he walked into the bathroom.
Left alone, Du Xiaoya's heart pounded as she replayed his expression in her mind.
No way… does he really expect something to happen?
Should I just leave?
Though she hadn't been with anyone before, she wasn't completely innocent either. She knew how the world worked.
And deep down, she suspected Ye Chen wasn't the type to have just one woman in his life.
Despite her inner conflict, she bit her lip and stayed put.
Meeting Ye Chen again after all these years felt like fate giving her an opportunity—one she might never get again.
Young, successful, and attractive, Ye Chen was far superior to the typical wealthy older men some women settled for.
The sound of running water from the bathroom filled the silence. As time passed, Du Xiaoya gradually relaxed and began exploring the suite.
She had been to luxury hotels before, but this was the first time she had stepped into a presidential suite.
With every luxurious detail she observed, her desire only intensified. This level of wealth wasn't just impressive—it was intoxicating.
Fifteen minutes later, Ye Chen emerged from the bathroom, towel drying his hair.
Du Xiaoya set down the empty wine glass she had been holding and stood up. "Finished your shower?"
Now more composed, she had removed her down jacket, revealing an S-shaped silhouette that stood out even more under the golden lighting.
Her fair skin, subtle lipstick, delicate features, and long, flowing black hair created an effortlessly elegant appearance.
Ye Chen raised an eyebrow, a knowing smirk playing on his lips.
