Coiling Dragon: Reborn As The Armored Razorback Wyrm

Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Uniting Bebe's Parents and the Idea of Integrating The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts

The terrifying might of Sadius' assault finally forced the two Rank-Nine magical beasts to halt their battle.

The Rank-Nine Shadowmouse and Rank-Nine Stone Eater Rat exchanged glances before emitting a series of high-pitched squeaks, as though engaged in conversation.

Sadius did not understand the language of rodents, so naturally, he had no idea what they were saying.

However, that hardly mattered.

"Dragon One, Dragon Two, Redscale, Greenscale!" Sadius called out loudly to his subordinates.

From the sky, a pair of wyverns, one red and one green, descended in response to his summons. At the same time, two massive raptors burst forth from a large stone cavern, pushing aside the boulders that had sealed the entrance.

This cavern was not Sadius' dwelling but rather a temporary excavation made by the two wyverns. The boulders blocking the entrance had been carved out by Sadius himself when he had demonstrated his power earlier.

Upon seeing their leader return, the four magical beasts immediately regained their imposing presence.

"Boss, these damn rodents ran into the Misty Valley and started tearing each other apart. We told them this was the domain of the great Saint-level magical beast, Sadius, but they didn't care at all."

"Idiot dragon, say 'damn rodents' one more time, and I'll tear you apart!" The Rank-Nine Shadowmouse suddenly spoke in the Dragon tongue.

At that moment, the gathered rodent magical beasts all seemed ready to pounce.

"Oh? You speak the Dragon tongue? That makes things much easier."

Sadius had been considering whether any of his subordinates understood the language of rodents, but since this Shadowmouse spoke Dragon tongue, there was no need for further hassle.

Gazing at the Rank-Nine Shadowmouse, Sadius deduced that she must be Bebe's mother, which would explain how she could speak multiple Magical Beast languages.

However, Bebe's birth was still three centuries away, so he had no idea about the current circumstances.

"May I ask why the two of you are fighting here in the Misty Valley? I've never seen so many rodent magical beasts gathered in one place before."

"What else? We're fighting over who gets to be the Rodent King of The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts. The winner will command all rodent clans."

"Wait a moment… Aren't you two mates?"

"Mates? What nonsense are you spouting?"

They weren't together yet?

Sadius had almost forgot—Coiling Dragon never specified when Bebe's parents got together.

"Apologies, I merely assumed since both of you are Rank-Nine rodent magical beasts, you must already be partners."

"As if I'd ever choose that big oaf." The Shadowmouse scoffed arrogantly.

The Stone Eater Rat chittered in protest from the side, evidently unable to speak Dragon tongue but clearly able to understand it.

"Have you considered the consequences of continuing this battle? If you keep fighting, your rodent armies will suffer tremendous losses. Even if one of you wins and absorbs the other's forces, the total number of rodent magical beasts might still be reduced."

"So what? We rodents breed quickly. In a few years, we'll recover." The Shadowmouse dismissed his concerns.

"But have you thought about your natural enemies? They might seize this opportunity to suppress you, ensuring that rodents never rise to power."

Both rodents fell silent. Indeed, this was a very real threat. Many powerful species in the The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts had once thrived, only to be suppressed to near extinction.

Seeing that his words had an impact, Sadius pressed on.

"You both want to be the sole ruler of the rodent magical beasts, correct? But must that necessarily be decided by bloodshed?"

"Hmph. What are you suggesting, then?"

"Simple. What if you two were mates?"

"Mates? Ridiculous. Why would I ever choose a stone-eating idiot like him?" The Shadowmouse scoffed.

After all, she was a descendant of the Beirut lineage, bearing the blood of divine beasts.

The Stone Eater Rat let out a series of sharp squeaks, clearly displeased.

Sadius could tell from his tone that he wasn't too fond of the Shadowmouse either, possibly thinking something along the lines of, "Like I'd ever want an arrogant female like you."

The two immediately started bickering again.

Sadius sighed. How did these two ever end up together in the original story?

"Enough! You two should stop looking down on each other. You're both Rank-Nine magical beasts. Whoever reaches the Saint-level first will have the right to be arrogant."

"That's true! And it'll be me who reaches Saint-level first!"

"Squeak, squeak!"

After a while, they ceased their arguing.

"As it happens, I have a freshly slain Saint-level Golden Dragon here. Since fate has brought us together, why don't we share a meal?"

The corpse of the Saint-level Golden Dragon was over a hundred meters long, more than enough for the gathered Rank-Eight and Rank-Nine magical beasts to feast upon.

The high-level magical beasts present had already been eyeing the massive dragon carcass beneath Sadius. The allure of Saint-level flesh was simply too great. Though its energy was dispersed due to its enormous size, it was still vastly superior to the meat of Rank-Nine magical beasts.

"Very well, then. We graciously accept your hospitality."

"All Fire-element magical beasts, step forward and use your magic to cook the meat. I'll slice through the scales first."

Soon, the Misty Valley became a lively feast.

Magical beasts of Rank-Eight and above all received a portion of the Saint-level dragon meat.

Sadius did not share the meat with weaker magical beasts because they wouldn't be able to properly digest it. Eating it might even cause their bodies to rupture. Moreover, the sheer number of rodent magical beasts present was overwhelming—two Golden Dragons wouldn't be enough to satisfy them all.

Understanding the situation, the two rodent leaders wisely ordered their lesser subordinates to withdraw from the Misty Valley, leaving only a handful of Rank-Eight rodent magical beasts by their side.

"Sadius, you're an honorable one. I, Liyah Beirut, am willing to call you a friend." The Shadowmouse, Liyah, spoke as she ate.

Sadius was glad to finally learn the name of this infamous mother to a future Godeater Rat.

"Squeak, squeak!" The Stone Eater Rat chittered while chewing.

"He says he wants to be your subordinate," Liyah translated.

Hearing her deliberately twist his words, the Stone Eater Rat immediately voiced his protest.

The two began bickering once again.

Watching their interactions, Sadius truly felt they were a perfect match.

"You two, why don't we form an alliance? With my Saint-level strength, my draconic subordinates, and your rodent armies, who in The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts could stand against us?"

Just then, Doehring Cowart materialized.

"Didn't you say you were heading to the Anarchic Lands?"

"Plans change. We could consolidate power here first before heading to the Anarchic Lands."

Doehring Cowart sighed. "You change plans way too fast."

The Shadowmouse chimed in "Are you joking? The Magical Beast Mountain Range has more than one Saint-level magical beast. From what I can see, you've only just reached Saint-level yourself. It's already a miracle that an Armored Razorback Wyrm broke past its racial limits. Do you really think you can challenge those stronger Saint-level magical beasts?"

"Where do you think this Golden Dragon's corpse came from? I also slew its master—the Pope of the Radiant Church."

"What?! You killed the Pope of the Radiant Church?!" As a descendant of Beirut, Liyah was no fool. She immediately understood the gravity of the situation and was utterly shocked.
