Chapter 17: Chapter 17: One Against Two, A Terrifying Sword Move
Helasor stood in midair, unleashing a terrifying black dragonflame from his maw.
This was the most common attack of the Tyrant Dragon clan. The dragonflame carried the terrifying power of Darkness, capable of piercing through an enemy's defenses with ease.
Sadius did not possess this ability; he was a dragon incapable of breathing fire.
However, Sadius viewed this attack as weak.
So in response, Sadius exhaled a beam of terrifying Darkness.
This was a simple application of the Darkness element, yet its offensive power was still formidable.
However, Sadius' strike was not ordinary. It was not a simple beam of Darkness—it also carried the horrifying power of Destruction from the Soul Mutation.
The two energies intertwined, and upon contact with the black dragonflame, a terrifying explosion erupted.
Following this, the two dragons collided in midair, engaging in a physical battle.
Both of their physical defenses were incredibly formidable, neither side gaining the upper hand.
Thus, the battle would be determined by raw power and elemental attacks.
The Tyrant Dragon had a massive head, with its most powerful weapons being its mighty tail and razor-sharp teeth.
Helasor lashed out with his terrifying tail, striking toward Sadius with overwhelming force.
Sadius did not back down. His tail was no weaker and, in terms of attack power, it surpassed even his claws.
As the two tails clashed, the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon roared in pain. Only then did Helasor realize that Sadius' strength actually surpassed his own.
But this was not entirely true. The reason Sadius' attack caused greater damage was because he possessed a Dragoncore infused with the power of Destruction, an element known for it's damage capabilities.
Just as the two Saint-level dragons were locked in battle, a draconic roar resounded from the distance.
A figure streaked through the sky like a bolt of lightning.
"Big Brother, what's going on? Did this guy trespass into our territory?"
The newcomer was the Saint-level Thunder Dragon Ravencross, Helasor's constant companion.
Having heard his elder brother's roar, he immediately abandoned the female dragon he was with and rushed back to their domain.
Spotting the Armored Razorback Wyrm at the Saint-level, Ravencross had some recollection of him.
A few years ago, this wyrm was merely a Rank-Nine magical beast, yet he had already advanced to the Saint-level.
However, to challenge the two of them together so soon after his breakthrough—was he truly unaware of his own limits?
"Second Brother, stay back. I'll handle this arrogant fool myself."
Helasor, the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon, was quite prideful. He already sensed that Sadius was not easy to deal with, but he still refused his brother's assistance.
"You two can come at me together. I'm short on time." Sadius gazed at the two dragons.
Who knew if defeating the Tyrant Dragon would just lead to another battle with the Thunder Dragon? He might as well take on both at once and settle things in one go.
"Arrogant!" The Saint-level Thunder Dragon transformed into a bolt of lightning, charging toward Sadius with incredible speed. His terrifying tail lashed out like a thunderous whip.
In response, Sadius instantly split into three shadows.
Darkness Clone Technique—a Darkness-type magic inherited in Sadius' memories after breaking through the Saint level.
The Thunder Dragon's tail struck one of the shadows, only to realize it was a mere clone.
Sadius' true body swiftly counterattacked.
His terrifying claws slashed toward the Saint-level Thunder Dragon.
Seeing this, the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon no longer held back and directly joined the battle.
Now, Sadius was facing two Saint-level dragons at once.
The Saint-level Tyrant Dragon cast a Darkness spell—Frozen Tentacle. A sinister tentacle emerged, lunging toward Sadius in an ambush.
The Saint-level Thunder Dragon also unleashed his ultimate move—Thunder Flashstorm, transforming into a terrifying bolt of lightning.
In response, Sadius waved his hand, summoning a spear.
It was the recently acquired Lesser Divine Artifact.
As a dragon-type magical beast, Sadius was not particularly adept at wielding a spear.
But for channeling magic, it was perfect.
He simultaneously summoned the elements of Earth and Darkness.
Darkness Deathray! Gravity Technique!
Two spells were cast simultaneously.
The Gravity Technique was a spell Sadius had learned from Cowart, and this was his first time using it.
When cast by a Saint-level expert, the gravity effect was immensely powerful.
Under its influence, the two Saint-level magical beasts significantly slowed down.
The Thunder Dragon, previously as fast as a bolt of lightning, was now only slightly quicker than the Tyrant Dragon.
The Darkness Deathray shot toward the Saint-level Thunder Dragon, while at the same time, Sadius swung his spear at the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon.
Boom! Crash!
Two deafening explosions rang out as both Saint-level dragons were sent flying.
Holding the divine artifact, Sadius seemed like an unstoppable war god.
In the distance, a group of Rank-Eight and Rank-Nine magical beasts silently observed the battle.
"That big guy… Sadius is so cool!" Liyah, watching from the back of a dragon, exclaimed.
"Squeak, squeak, squeak!" The Stone Eater Rat expressed dissatisfaction, mocking Liyah for being love-struck.
"When Sadius wins, I'll dedicate myself to him, leaving you, a mere rat, to live alone forever."
The Stone Eater Rat paused for a moment, then responded that whether he was alone or not was none of her concern.
He also asserted that Sadius would never choose a Shadowmouse as his partner.
The two rodents continued their argument in a series of squeaks.
Meanwhile, the battle between the three Saint-level dragons raged on.
"That… is a Divine Artifact!"
The two dragons clearly recognized the weapon.
"Using a Divine Artifact to wound us is no true skill."
Hearing this, Sadius put the artifact away.
He intended to defeat them in a way that would leave no doubts about his strength.
"Let's bring out our strongest powers. One final battle."
The two Saint-level dragons shared the same thought.
They began to gather their most terrifying attacks in midair.
The Saint-level Tyrant Dragon gathered immense Darkness energy.
Evil Grasp! A sinister Darkness spell similar to Frozen Tentacle.
"This technique… feels ominous."
Even Sadius was slightly taken aback.
"Sadius, that Saint-level Tyrant Dragon's Evil Grasp seems to have touched upon the Laws of Darkness, though he has yet to fully comprehend them," Cowart remarked.
So that was it.
The original Coiling Dragon never mentioned Cowart's understanding of the Laws, but as one of the most powerful Saint-level experts five thousand years ago, second only to Deities, how could he not have begun to comprehend them?
Thus, he immediately recognized the Tyrant Dragon's technique.
At the same time, the Saint-level Thunder Dragon once again used Thunder Flashstorm, just as before.
Sadius mobilized his three elements.
Destruction, Darkness, Earth.
"This strike… will be powerful!" Sadius raised his hand.
This time, he didn't merely form a sword aura using three elements—he incorporated magic principles into it.
Earth's Gravity Technique, Darkness' Dark Edge, and Destruction's Slaughter Sword Intent.
The three forces combined through the power of his Soul Mutation, and Sadius' claws became the terrifying World-Ending Claws, carrying boundless might.
Energy surged outward. The charging Saint-level Thunder Dragon was sent flying, while the Tyrant Dragon's Evil Grasp was shattered by the claws.
The shattered Darkness tentacles dissolved into the surrounding elements.
The enormous claw continued downward, smashing the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon into the ground.
Dragon blood splattered everywhere.
