Coiling Dragon: Reborn As The Armored Razorback Wyrm

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: The Necropolis of the Gods

Sadius had already held back his strike; otherwise, this slash would have at least crippled the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon.

The massive body of the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon crashed heavily onto the ground, its blood splattering in all directions.

In the distance, Sadius' subordinates and the two magical beasts cheered.

Sadius' strength was simply overwhelming.

He flew toward the two Saint-level Dragons.

"How about it? Will you submit?"

At this moment, the terrifying claw wounds on the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon's body had torn through its scales and deeply lacerated its flesh.

The Saint-level Thunder Dragon wasn't faring any better. The lightning surrounding its body flickered weakly, and it coughed up dragon blood.

"We submit!"

Seeing the situation, the two dragons had no choice but to submit. If they resisted any longer, they would undoubtedly perish here today.

Besides, Sadius was undeniably a mighty figure. It was no shame for Saint-level Dragons to submit to the strong.

A smile appeared on Sadius' lips. Now that the most powerful Saint-level Tyrant Dragon in The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts had been dealt with, the other Saint-level magical beasts would be much easier to subdue.

"Recover for now, then return with me to Misty Valley."

No longer paying them any mind, Sadius flew back toward his subordinates and the two magical beasts.

"Well? Do you think I have the strength to unify The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts?"

"Sadius, I want to bear your offspring!" Liyah declared excitedly.

…?

Three massive question marks popped up in Sadius' mind.

What nonsense was this?

Why was this Shadowmouse saying such wild things?

Beside her, the Stone Eater Rat seemed to have suffered a heavy blow and looked somewhat dejected.

"No, no, absolutely not! I'm of the Dragon race, you're a rodent—we're not compatible!"

Sadius hurriedly refused.

Was she joking?

If these two didn't end up together, the world's second Godeater Rat might never be born.

If Beirut found out that Sadius was the reason he lost a fellow kin, wouldn't he grind Sadius' bones to dust?

"Hmph! Prejudice! Didn't you say you'd help me become a Saint-level magical beast? Once I ascend, we can be together then!"

Saint-level magical beast?

Even if she became a Deity, it was still out of the question. Sadius absolutely would not bear this responsibility.

"Let's talk about the alliance first. I've already demonstrated my power. Two Saint-level magical beasts have already submitted to me. What do you think? If you refuse, I'll simply find another magical beast clan to ally with."

Sadius was unwilling to give up on the army of over ten million rats. No other magical beast tribe could match their sheer numbers.

"Alliance, of course, we must ally!"

"Big guy, don't you agree?"

The Stone Eater Rat nodded. He had thought things through. He and Liyah had been rivals from the start, and there was no real affection between them.

It was only because Sadius had tried to pair them up that he had even considered the idea.

Now, looking back, it was rather ridiculous.

Seeing that both rodents agreed, Sadius felt delighted. His goal of unifying The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts had taken another step forward.

Once the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon and Saint-level Thunder Dragon had somewhat recovered and regained their ability to fly, Sadius took them back to Misty Valley.

The dense elemental essence there would allow them to heal faster.

A group of magical beasts arrived back at Misty Valley.

Upon seeing the massive remains of a dragon skeleton in the valley, the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon and Saint-level Thunder Dragon immediately recognized it as the bones of a Saint-level Golden Dragon.

The two dragons couldn't help but feel uneasy.

Could it be that Sadius had tricked them into coming here to devour them?

"This is the Saint-level Golden Dragon I just killed—he was the mount of the Radiant Church's Pope," Sadius explained casually.

"You killed the Pope's mount?! Aren't you afraid of the Radiant Church's retaliation?" the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon asked.

"Not just his mount—I killed the Pope himself. That divine spear over there was his weapon."

The two dragons were utterly shocked, then proceeded to react just as Liyah had before.

"We're doomed! The Radiant Church is going to launch a crusade against The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts!"

The Radiant Church had quite a few Saint-level experts. If they launched a full-scale assault, the magical beasts here would suffer immensely.

"What's there to fear? If The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts unites, are we truly afraid of the Radiant Church?"

"It's not just the Radiant Church that's concerning—they can call upon Saint-level Pinnacle experts!"

Saint-level experts who had comprehended profound mysteries could be considered Saint-level pinnacles.

Once one reached Saint-level pinnacle, their strength underwent a qualitative transformation. Those below pinnacle level could hardly compete.

"And how do you view my strength?"

The Saint-level Tyrant Dragon gazed at Sadius.

As a Saint-level magical beast with one foot in the Pinnacle realm, Helasor had personally witnessed Sadius' power today.

Sadius was far stronger.

"What if they send even more powerful Saint-level pinnacle experts?"

This was indeed a concern.

While Sadius was immensely strong, he was still far from matching the true limits of the Saint-level pinnacle experts.

"With an army of over ten million rats, are we truly afraid of a few human Saint-level experts?" Riyah interjected.

Sadius shook his head.

In the original timeline, just two Saint-level experts had easily subdued the Shadowmouse and the Stone Eater Rat despite their vast horde of minions. Without sufficient personal strength, no number of magical beasts would be enough.

"Give me time. Once I gain insight into the profound mysteries, as long as the absolute pinnacle experts don't show up, I will be unmatched."

Sadius had this confidence—after all, he possessed a rare three-way Soul Mutation.

Of course, Sadius was only referring to Saint-level pinnacle experts, excluding the true extremes of the Saint-level realm.

The Saint-level Tyrant Dragon was skeptical about Sadius' plan to unify The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts to resist the Radiant Church.

But he had already submitted to Sadius, so he had no objections.

"Do you think my only goal is to resist the Radiant Church?"

The gathered magical beasts looked curious—was there another reason?

"Have you heard of the Necropolis of the Gods?"

"The Necropolis of the Gods?"

The magical beasts were stunned. What kind of place was worthy of such a name? Who could possibly have the audacity to bury gods?

Even Liyah, who belonged to Beirut's bloodline, had never heard of such a place.

Only the strongest among them, the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon, seemed to recall something.

"Once, a Saint-level Grand Magus tried to subdue me, claiming he planned to venture into the Necropolis of the Gods, where unparalleled opportunities awaited."

"And do you know what these 'unparalleled opportunities' were?"

The Saint-level Tyrant Dragon shook his head. He had refused to follow that magus, so he never learned the details.

"Divine Sparks—objects that allow Saint-level beings to ascend to godhood. And artifacts beyond compare."

The magical beasts were stunned.

"You mean… I lost my chance to become a Deity?"

"What are you thinking? With your ability, you'd have simply died there," Sadius scoffed.

The Saint-level Tyrant Wyrm fell silent.

"Obtaining a Divine Spark in the Necropolis of the Gods is extraordinarily difficult, but it is still a chance. However, entry is controlled by the continent's top factions. We, as unaffiliated Saint-level magical beasts, have no hope of gaining a spot."

"So you want to unify The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts and create a power on par with the Four Great Empires and the Two Alliances?"

"Exactly. In roughly three hundred years, the Necropolis of the Gods will open again. In that time, I will unify The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts and secure a place in that grand event."

"You intend to enter the Necropolis of the Gods?"

"Indeed."

Sadius' ambition was clear.

He would enter the Necropolis of the Gods.

He would ascend to godhood.

Of course, he wouldn't refine a Divine Spark, that would make he a weak Deity — instead he would use the Necropolis of the Gods as his proving ground.
