Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Profound Mystery of Darkness
Holy Union, Radiant Church
Recently, the Radiant Church had been secretly capturing warriors, specifically those with powerful physiques who had reached Rank-Six or Rank-Seven without cultivating a Battle Qi technique.
Among the captives were a pair of father and son from the Baruch Clan.
As descendants of the Dragonblood Warriors, even without cultivating Battle Qi, they could achieve at least Rank-Six in physical strength, with the most talented among them surpassing Rank-Seven.
Dolin Baruch and his son Ander Baruch had caught the Radiant Church's attention—one was a Rank-Seven warrior, while the other had reached Rank-Six.
Such warriors were the perfect vessels for the Descended Angels, as they had no conflicting elemental Battle Qi, allowing the angels to fully inherit their physical potential.
Inside the Radiant Church's sacred hall, Heidens stood before a new batch of prisoners, his gaze indifferent.
Before long, these ordinary warriors would transform into powerful and exalted angels.
Even the weakest among them would become Saint-level Two-Winged Angels, while the most gifted would ascend to Four-Winged Angels, rivaling late-stage Saints.
With an army of angels, Heidens was confident that not even the Armored Razorback Wyrm could resist him.
"And after this battle, I'll need to cleanse the internal dissenters—those remnants of the former Pope's faction still refuse to submit," Heidens thought coldly.
Inside the sacred chamber, ten bound prisoners knelt before a massive Divine Array.
Some were devout believers, others mere citizens of the Holy Union—but all had been chosen for the ritual.
"Silence!" a high-ranking bishop declared. "You do not understand the honor bestowed upon you! To become vessels for the Radiant Lord's angels is the greatest blessing you could receive! You shall gain divine strength and aid the Church in eradicating heretics!"
Previously, some fanatic believers had willingly accepted the transformation, but the result had been disappointing—they had only produced weak, Two-Winged Angels.
However, this new batch included multiple Rank-Seven warriors, and one among them had reached Rank-Seven without any Battle Qi cultivation.
Such a rare physique made Heidens greatly anticipate the results of this batch.
The prisoners were forcibly placed within the Divine Array, their fates sealed.
Glancing at his list, Heidens noticed a familiar name.
"Baruch? A Dragonblood Warrior bloodline?"
He smirked.
"Once, they were among the Four Supreme Warrior Clans of Yulan. Now, they are nothing but a dying lineage. Consider it an honor to serve the Radiant Church as vessels."
Among the captives, Dolin Baruch and his son, Ander, struggled against their restraints.
"Father… are we really going to die here?" Ander asked, his voice filled with despair.
Dolin's expression was grim, but he forced himself to remain calm.
"Ander, at least Jason is still alive. As long as he survives, our Baruch lineage will not perish completely."
"Yes… if any of our descendants awaken their Dragonblood, they will one day avenge us!"
The Mountain Range of Magical Beasts
Sadius had finally gain initial insight into the Profound Mystery of Darkness.
Strangely enough, his comprehension had occurred during sword training—even though he wielded no sword.
His Bloodviolet Sword technique now carried two distinct mysteries— The Throbbing Pulse of the World from Earth and the newly comprehended Essence of Darkness.
This meant that, completely by accident, he had begun fusing different Laws into a single battle style.
Although both Profound Mysteries were only at the entry level, their synergy within his sword technique had caused his combat strength to soar once again.
"If I can integrate Destruction Laws into my technique, I'll be unstoppable among Saints!" Sadius' eyes gleamed with ambition.
But before he could deepen his comprehension, Helasor, the Saint-level Tyrant Dragon, arrived.
"Alliance Leader, the Radiant Church's army has gathered outside the mountain range!"
"So, it's begun," Sadius murmured, halting his training.
"Summon the army! We march to war!"
With that, Sadius and five Saint-level magical beasts took flight from the Misty Valley, while countless Rank-Nine magical beasts assembled their tribes, preparing for battle.
Meanwhile, the millions of rodent-type beasts, left behind by Liyah and Nien, were temporarily commanded by their Rank-Eight subordinates.
A Rank-Nine Shadow Leopard, the very same Blackcloud Panther Haeru from the original story, sprinted toward them, acting as the alliance's scout.
"Report!" Haeru said. "The Radiant Church's army is fully assembled! Their Magicite Cannons are in position!"
Sadius narrowed his eyes.
"Do we have a map of their cannon placements?"
Haeru nodded.
"I memorized the locations and marked them here."
Haeru swiftly sketched a rough battlefield map on the ground.
Sadius examined it carefully.
"Are these placements accurate?"
"I swear upon my life, Lord Sadius, these locations are correct!"
"Good. Consider this your first merit in the coming battle."
Then, with a single powerful beat of his wings, Sadius soared into the sky.
All the magical beasts below watched in awe.
Then, his spines launched forth like a rain of missiles, streaking toward the Radiant Church's encampment outside the mountain range.
Under Sadius' precise Gravity manipulation, each spine curved in mid-air, homing in on its target.
From a distance, both the Radiant Church's army and the Magical Beast Alliance watched the terrifying spectacle.
Then—
Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Magicite Cannons exploded one after another.
Previously, the Radiant Church had used these cannons to inflict massive casualties on the Magical Beast army.
This time, Sadius had destroyed them before the battle even began.
By the time the Radiant Church's Saints reacted and erected defensive barriers, it was already too late.
"Helasor, you'll fight beside me. The others will hold the rear," Sadius ordered.
Among the Saint-level magical beasts, only Sadius and Helasor had any initial grasp of a Profound Mystery, making them the only ones who could withstand the Angel Battle Formations.
The others would be slaughtered instantly if they joined the fray.
With Helasor at his side, Sadius flew toward the Radiant Church's army.
As they approached, a vast host of Saint-level warriors took to the skies.
Heidens stepped forward.
"Sadius! Today, you will die for your heresy!"
Sadius sneered.
"Quite the grandiose display. Did you bring your entire church just to deal with me?"
"There is no need for talk. Perish!"
Then, dozens of figures tore off their white robes, revealing radiant wings.
A total of twenty-four angels hovered in the sky—eighteen Two-Winged Angels and six Four-Winged Angels.
But they were not alone.
Standing beside them were twelve human Saint-level warriors.
A total of thirty-six Saints.
Then, they formed a terrifying battle formation.
Six smaller Angel Formations merged into a Grand Six-Pointed Star Battle Formation.
The entire battlefield trembled as radiant energy surged.
Then—
A single command shook the heavens.
"Kill!"
And the thirty-six Saint-level warriors charged forward.
